21st March 2022 -
The Varukers, System Of Hate, Force Fed Lies, Boulevard,
Wigan (5th March)
We make our first journey
to Wigan, to play the Boulevard. We arrive in good time,
the Force Fed Lies lads have gone for something to eat
so we sound check first as the Varukers are stuck in
traffic. Nice stage, great sound, we do about 3 songs
and then retire. It’s absolutely freezing and there’s
no internet or phone signal, we’ll have to speak to
one another, ha ha. Can’t even get the football results.
We found out the ticket sales are lower than normal
but as time goes by the ‘walk-ups’ make for a good crowd.
Force Fed Lies open the show, solid, heavy, direct and
driven, there is metal in their influence. No messing,
good messages and nice lads and the crowd like it, the
room is slightly warming up, ha ha. We hit the stage,
Tony couldn’t make it today, so back to a 4 piece, we
blast in to the set, lovely, sound-man totally gets
us, we stick the two new ones in. It’s a fantastic gig,
brill venue and really well supported, Keith is a great
promoter and respected, so gets the support he deserves.
The Varukers, give us great feedback, they all love
our set, which is great to hear. Brian is on roadie
and merch duties today and his help is much appreciated,
thanks. Gail a bit under the weather, get well soon
xx. The Varukers hit the stage and it’s absolutely solid
on the beat, like a metal workshop with machinery pounding
the life out of our eardrums, all the lads up for it,
the audience are jumping, pushing, pogoing, there will
be some stiff, old bodies tomorrow. It’s been well worth
the visit, it’s a early finish so everyone can get their
trains / buses, another KDS promotions good policy,
we will definitely be back here. Punk’s Not Dead in
Wigan!
21st March 2022 -
Spunk Volcano & The Eruptions, Trades Club, Barnsley
(25th Feb)
First hometown gig for
awhile and we are promoting this one ourselves. New
venue for us but not for the Barnsley Punk Scene, we’ve
worked with the Trades before in other guises and it’s
great to be back. We have put the word out and the people
are here, it’s an amazing turnout and I cannot thank
everyone enough. The raffle tickets sell out. Now there
are tables andn chairs in this Working Mens Club, this
has got a lot of Punk regulars scratching their heads,
it’s different, but works, none of us are getting any
younger. System hit the stage and do almost 50 minutes,
it’s a nice warm reception and the sound is good, strange
to see the crowd seated. Once Spunk and the boys get
up, a lot of people have made their way to the front
and it’s normal service so to speak. Spunk is now on
guitar duties so less mobile than we are used to, but
the show is still a stormer. The crowd love it, the
Club committee love it, coz it ain’t been this full
for a long time and they know the Punks can drink, so
it’s a win win situation. So thanks to the Club for
running the door and providing more than enough staff
for the bar, a very great positive night in Barnsley.
We will be back in September with another one, stay
tuned. Thanks to Kenton for the sound.
25th February 2022
- 1st Gig Of The Year - Black Bull, Gateshead (Saturday
19th Feb)
Our first gig of 2022.
The weather these last few days has been truly awful,
we’ve had to keep on eye on it, 3 major named storms
within a week, unheard of they say. Anyway we set of
in good time and it’s a good journey. It’s nice to get
back to such a lovely welcoming place, Tintin greets
us at the doors then Shev. We load in, set up and sound
check pretty straight forward, we sound check two new
songs and yes they are ready. Drink time, Guinness for
this lad. The 2sevens load in and set up, nice lads,
Scottish Rock ‘n Punk or Punk ‘n Roll, they even include
the original Jesus & The Mary Chain drummer, wow mucho
kudos. They finish sound check and we all relax waiting
until showtime. The weather has effected the numbers
a little tonight and a Metro strike has not helped either,
also our biggest fan, Mr. Stanners has an engagement
elsewhere, unheard of for Steve to miss. Anyway the
2sevens open the show, good energy and you can feel,
the Clash and New York Dolls influences dripping out
of them, it’s good and worth checking out, I hope we
meet again, well done lads.
We blast into the set
and it sounds great, I can hear Tony more than normal,
all the pressures and problems of the working week just
dissipate from my shoulders, I’m in a dream state and
we're motoring along lovely. We play “Instinct To Kill”
and “No Religion, No Wars”, both for the first ever
time, they go down very well, we end with a well known
Stooges classic. Wow what a show, we even have a very
local famous bass player’s sister in the audience, demanding
more songs. It’s been a great adventure as always, thank
you everyone who came out!!! Will

Thursday
6th January 2022 - The Xmas Tour 2021 (4th Dec / 10th
Dec & 20th Dec 2021)
A last minute booking
at The Ferret, Preston on the 4th December 2021, supporting
the mighty DISCHARGE. We set off around 3-30pm, it’s
absolutely teaming it down and I’m wet through to the
skin just swapping my gear from car to hate van. It’s
times like this you question why you do this, I dry
my trousers (still on) via the vehicle heating system,
it is as always an awful dark journey with shocking
wind and rain over the tops. We arrive later than planned
but it’s nice to see friendly faces, people are still
reluctant to shake hands fully and hugging is definitely
out, who knows what to do these days.
We arrive as the Battery
Farm are concluding their set, very quiet / loud, melodic
then heavy as. Good stuff and it’s understandable why
people are saying nice things. LEFT up next, there’s
a strong Idles influence here, Queen Zee, A little At
The Drive In / The Fall, very energetic, it’s a great
set. We catch up with our good friends; Evil Blizzard
(punters today), nice to chat. Thee Acid Tongue next,
our Brummie friends playing more tradition Punk ‘n Roll,
something for everyone today, good tight set. S.O.H.
next, no Tony today, we play to a fantastic receptive
audience, the sound is magnificent, the soundman has
definitely got us. My rain drenched body is now buzzing
with post gig positivity, it’s been well worth the trip.
Litterbug next, it’s a solid bass and drums with tinkering
of guitar now and again, dare I say Buzzcocks meets
Indie, it’s taken the mood down a little, the calm before
the storm you might say. Again
something different, be boring if it was all the same,
a nice intermission before the all consuming Chaos.
Discharge bounce onto
the stage, our good mate Lee Evans is roadie-ing for
them, they set up quick. Bang and they are off, it’s
carnage, a battlefield, pure power, very impressive,
we get a shout out from Tezz Roberts as they begin “Ain’t
No Feeble Bastard”, nice touch, means a lot. The roadies
are trying to ply the band with water, the heat, the
breakneck speeds and uninterrupted riffage is taking
its toll, it’s brilliant, one minute they are breathing
heavy, red faced then regain the pace, no let up, it’s
red hot as JJ whips his mic lead up and down the stage,
strutting like a wild beast. It’s an amazing set and
it stays in my memory for days. A great day out, only
negative moment, Martin gets a puncture on the way home
but we meet up and sort him out. We make our way back
to the safety of Yorkshire :-).

Another late-ish booking,
Friday 10th December 2021 with THEATRE OF HATE, at the
Brudenell, LEEDS. We hear about the passing of 'Mensi'
from the Angelic Upstarts just before taking to the
stage, so we dedicate the set to him, a dear friend
and influence, sad day, RIP. Tony is back in the fold
and we have a lot of friends in the crowd. The only
thing is, Sam Fender has taken nearly all the car park
up with his tour buses, as he’s playing next door. We
manage to get parked and load in, 2 drum kits on one
stage this evening, we are like a boy band all in a
perfect line :-). We arrive really early so get to see
Theatre Of Hate set up and sound check, we follow suit
and are ready just before opening. Again big Thanks
to John Keenan for putting us on. We play 50 minutes,
it’s a rejigged set list, “Harvest Of The Dispossessed”
is played for the first time with this line-up, we get
a lovely reception from the audience and it’s a pleasure
to support. Kirk Brandon says some really nice things
about us, which is always a bonus.
Theatre Of Hate take
to the stage and knock out a cracking set, great rhythmical
slabs of hypnotic post punkness, perfect just what the
doctor ordered, I wish the rest of the world even knew
bands were playing stuff like this. I wonder if Sam
Fender steals a peak or the young lad (Thomas Turgoose)
from This Is England, who we spotted earlier. Anyways,
a fantastic night!

The 3rd Date of the
Xmas 2021 Tour, 18th December back to the Brudenell
for Geoffrey Oi!cott’s Annual Xmas Bash. Bands are dropping
like flies, we’ve lost one of the bigger names but the
show must go on. We arrive a little late, as one of
us is working. We’ve missed Indignation Meeting (sorry)
but catch most of Scum, a very young band with great
energy and attitude, very honest and likeable, they
have some Idles influence, maybe the Fall, good 3 piece
and I would watch them again, they certainly ain’t Punking
by numbers. Next up, the joker in the pack, Vig Vam
Bam, it’s a glam covers band but with a difference,
it features well know musicians from this area including
our drummer, they are good and could take this show
to the working men’s clubs but they claim it’s just
for fun, certainly breaks the day up, nice change. System
up next, Tony is here again and I’m told the sound is
absolutely cock on and the keyboard is coming through
like a freight train, we enjoy the set and so do the
crowd, we’ve acquired some new fans and it’s nice to
sign the year off positively, especially with all the
hold ups. Pete Bentham & The Dinner Ladies next and
the mood is taken back up to fun, it’s described as
kitchencore, it’s clever, well written, politically
astute, damn good pop punk with hints of post punk,
definitely worth a watch. Next, our hosts Geoffrey Oi!cott
with their new bass player, they continue the theme
of fun, banging into their cricket, sport and Oi influenced
material. They do a nice tribute to Mensi, “I’m An Upstart”,
nice touch boys. Last up, headliners, 999, nice to catch
up with Arthur and Stu, we have to leave early, due
to unforeseen circumstances, sorry. Money is being raised
for the Food Bank Appeal this evening, well done Jase
and the rest of Oi!cott, keep up the good work. Another
great outing and a good end to the year for the System
lads. Hope everyone's had a good Xmas and New Year and
stayed as safe as possible !!!! Love & Best Wishes S.O.H.

2021 - The Legendary HOPE & ANCHOR, London (20th
November)
We set off early to
catch the MEGABUS at Meadowhall (Sheffield), with slight
delays we arrive in the capital around 2pm. We make
our way to our digs and have about 40 minutes relax
time, until we head to the Hope & Anchor. We drop
our gear off in the basement and then it's drinks time
:-) We drink in the history and take in the fact that,
many of our heroes have strutted around this place,
absolutely amazing.
A great review of the
evening by Vincent Mahon, Lead Singer of the Morgellons...........
"After nearly two years
of lockdowns, cock-ups, dramas, traumas and any number
of things going tits-up and sideways, last night at
the Hope & Anchor felt like a real Green Shoots of Recovery
moment, providing a much needed shock to the system
and a good old-fashioned kick up the arse for another
crappy year. Everyone, from the crowd, the bands, and
the PA geezer, were firing on all cylinders. It felt
like the brakes were off at long last and the party
was starting up again. The evening was well and truly
blessed with a number of good friends in attendance
- too many to mention individually, but you know who
you are and your support is always appreciated.
Superminx 70 kicked
things off perfectly with a fabulous glam-stomping,
punky, soulful and beautifully crafted set that had
more hooks than an Abu Hamza lookalikes convention.
It can be a thankless task being the first band on the
bill, but SM70 hit the ground running and didn’t let
up for one minute. It was so good to see them back in
action and they deserve a massive audience. See them
if you get the chance. They really are great.
I’ve been wanting to
see System of Hate for a long time, and they did not
disappoint. Picking up on the best bits of Killing Joke
and Joy Division without merely being shallow copyists,
SoH produced a dark, brooding, irresistibly powerful
sonic assault that left the crowed entranced and awed.
Exhilarating, challenging, immersive and absolutely
unforgettable, this was a “hairs on the back of your
neck” type set, and I can’t wait to see them again.
Not only do they knock out a cracking bunch of tunes,
they’re also some of the loveliest, funniest and friendliest
people you could ever hope to meet. The bus journey
back to their hotel was like organising a school outing
with the Bash Street Kids, and has me cracking up just
thinking about it. A great memory from an incredible
evening. London loves System of Hate.
By the time we hit the
stage the crowd was well and truly up for it. We only
had two proper rehearsals under our belt and even with
the wonderful Dale Senior as last minute stand-in, I
must admit I was initially a bit nervous. But even if
I do say so myself, we played a blinder. The set went
down really well, and to have several people who’ve
been supporting us since day one saying it was the best
they’d ever seen us was the best praise imaginable.
Again, much love and thanks to all.
When it all comes together
like it did last night, playing live music is quite
simply the very best thing you can do with your life.
I think it’s fair to say that none of the bands involved
are under any illusions as to what we’re doing: it’s
a hobby; a chance to do something creative; it’s the
thing that makes the working week bearable; it’s an
outlet and an opportunity to meet like-minded folk,
kick up a bloody good racket and have a bit of fun.
And really and truly, what else could anyone possibly
need? XX.."
The MEGABUS journey
home was awful, M1 closed at Junction 11/12, an accident
not far from home on the slipway when we went to swap
drivers (we had to reverse back onto the M1). Other
than that it was great, an amazing trip, just what the
doctor ordered :-). Some new gigs have just come in,
check out the GIG list. We will see you soon, stay safe!!!!!
Special thanks to Andy
Cavendish, Vincent Mahon, Bob Walsh, Laine (Sound),
all the band members, bar staff and all the people who
turned out to watch us, thanks a million.
Here's Some Footage

Much)
Monday 18th October
2021 - Very Rare Barnsley Gig (24th September, Old No.7
Pub)
It’s been a while and
it’s lovely to see our Barnsley friends and people who
have traveled from as far as Wales and Birmingham, as
well as local. It’s a first to play at The Old No. 7
and to be honest a very enjoyable experience. There’s
several events going on tonight, nothing for ages then
loads, never rains eh? We’ve really struggled to find
a support act, Spaff pulling out due to illness, so
we have Hospital Two’d (2 members of Hospital Food),
Nathan (Guitar/voice) and Rob (drums), rather than let
us down cobbled together this set. A good set, the sound
is spot on, the audience warn to it, big thanks lads.
We step up, ready to
rock this little cave, it’s long but probably 2 and
a half meters wide max, really low ceiling but somehow
the sound is perfect, who knew? We play 50 minutes or
so of dark sonic grooves, no keyboard tonight with Tony
still unwell (get well soon). New t shirt sells well.
It’s another warm one but enjoyed by all, thanks so
much for everyone who came along, great to see you after
so long. Next stop : That there London !!!!
Tuesday 21st September
2021 - Punk Beside The Seaside, Johnny's Bar, Morecambe
(28th August 2021)
Some of us set off on
Friday evening and got caught in really bad bank holiday
traffic, some early Saturday and got caught in traffic,
some Saturday afternoon and got caught is shockingly
bad traffic but we all got to Johnny’s bar in Morecambe
in good time to play an amazing mini festival; Lee &
Caroline Wood’s Punk By The Seaside. Sheffield Wednesday
are in town too and that didn’t spoil anything (losing
1 nil to Morecambe, we mustn’t gloat :-))
The sun's shining, the
beer flowing, we are catching up with people we ain’t
seen in forever. It’s a nice sized room and the sound
is good. A few bands are late due to the afore mentioned
traffic, but Lee keeps their slots open and the gig
just goes later, it’s a nice touch.
The Dead Objectives,
we miss due to the taxi taking an age, so we still haven’t
seen the new line up. Fat Albert sound great, very Misfits
feel, best I’ve seen them, ace. Janus Stark, up next,
they are uniformed up and play a pleasant professional
set, it’s more Green Day than GBH, this is Gizz Butts
(Prodigy touring guitarist) first performance of the
night. Criminal Justice, well late but jump straight
into it, very metal / Discharge feel, nice lads, good
noise. Wolf Bites Boy next, as Oi isn’t something I’d
normally watch, I’m no expert but they were tight and
the choruses are strong, these lads are good, no doubt.
Our old mates Healthy Junkies up now, Phil and his Mrs
driving the ship, more normal song structures, few covers,
sounds great, good to catch up. System up next, amazing
sound on stage, Tony is off stage (no room) but the
old trooper just carries on smiling, Pat breaks a string
on the first song, no one knows. The band are in the
groove, it’s a great atmosphere, with the crowd lapping
it up, Steve Stanners dancing like a loon down the front,
possibly been drinking, lol. The new t shirt is out,
we sell a few, signed vinyl going well, it’s been great.
The Destructors 82 up last, Gizz Butts second performance
of the day, not a band I know much about, it’s just
steady away, not pulling any trees up. I guess people
are tired with the extension. Its been a awesome day,
well done all.
Day 2, it’s a new day
and a new venue, Bath Hotel, drinks are cheaper and
the room is way smaller, sets up a lovely atmosphere.
Nice just to sit back and watch bands and catch up properly
with mates, met Tyson Fury on the way to the venue,
he didn’t fancy it he said, had some things to do, nice
enough lad, his loss. A great day of bands, finished
off lovely with a super group, if you know, you know.
A couple of the lads have come back with a “flu”, all
good now, we play Barnsley, Friday !!! See you all soon.
Saturday 21st Auguat
2021 - Black Bull, Gateshead (30th July) & The Star
& Garter, Manchester (1st August)
Gateshead our first
gig in a venue since the year before last at our beloved
Black Bull, Gateshead. We arrive nice and early, great
sound check, loads of spare time for a change. The place
is rammed, the biggest audience we’ve played to up here,
loads of good mates, the Scalesys have made it from
Rotherham, keeping it a nice surprise again.
Zero tolerance open
and blast into their set, they are a different band
now, plenty of gigs under their belts, tighter and more
confident, still got the Ruts feel but defo some Upstarts
in the mix, a great set and they go down amazing.
We get up and boy is
it hot, no rehearsal before this gig but who’d know.
We play around a hours set, even playing one song twice
as the new line up are working on brand new material,
so we haven’t been into all the archives as yet, we
will. It’s a fantastic reception from our North East
buddies. Thank you, we will be back!!!! Click
here to see images by Will Binks.
Sunday, Mere Dead Men,
Thee Acid Tongue, the Star And Garter, Manchester. Our
first time here and Stu Taylor bless him has done his
best to get us on but the dates have never married up,
this afternoon we make that right. Up three flights
of stairs with gear, ha ha, Paddy’s suddenly gone missing,
nothing new :-). No sound check today for the middle
band. The band room is full of snacks, sandwiches, fruit
and lager, this is ace and greatly appreciated by all
the bands.
Thee Acid Tongue open
up, we’ve met them before in other guises, really nice
people, rock n roll with some UK Subs in there, nice
upbeat positive set, well done.
System up next, any
nerves about no sound check are buried immediately as
we blast into a brilliant set, the on stage sound is
great. We have loads of mates in the crowd and a new
fan in Dave Sharp (ex The Alarm), thanks for the lovely
words Dave. We have young Harry Williams up on stage
bouncing around to ‘Shadow’, nice to see the youth representing.
Again it’s hot and we play an amazing show.
Mere Dead Men headline
and our mate Marc (The Webb) is on drums, nice to see
him in another role. The band blast through their set,
it’s raw ‘77 influenced punk rock, think Rubella Ballet
/ X Ray Specs, they were about in the late 80’s, it’s
a strong set and nice to see a blast from the past.
The beach balls have appeared from somewhere and are
everywhere, keeping the now drunker crowd entertained
as well. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon
in Manchester, brilliant, just brilliant!!!!!
Saturday 17th July
2021 - Sonic Rock Solstice Festival 2021 (Saturday 3rd
July)
We did a GIG! Yes folks
18 months since we last played. Was it strange? Yes
it was especially weird, playing outside in blazing
sunshine to a ‘space rock” crowd, but boy did we enjoy
it. The sound was beyond expectations, the crew and
staff amazing under the constraints of the covid rules
and the audience as brilliant as anywhere, do we want
to play here again, you bet your Aunt Fanny.
Our good friends Tim
and Ann from Cambridge made a special journey to get
their system fix, seeing Tony for the first time, making
his System debut. ‘Raven Child’ a brand new song saw
the light of day and we played an impressive 50 minute
set, spanning both albums and 2 singles. We didn’t play
perfect but we did play liked we meant it and the audience
loved us for it. Sadly, our singer; Suty, lost his Mum
the day before, so the set was dedicated to her memory.
Well Done Suty lad, great stuff.
(photos by mike hood
except tad more tony by p.j.crawford)
Just to prove we are
in England, the two below photos were taken just hours
a part.
We did get invited to
play another couple of festivals and swapped a few gig
contacts, so it’s been well worth the journey to Stoke
Prior in Bromsgrove to play the Sonic Rock Solstice
Festival 2021, the camping and amenities were excellent,
well worth a trip. Special thanks to the organisers
for inviting us and Tony “Keys” Jackson for sorting
the gig, Gail T Merching and Brian Feather roadie duties.

2021 - NEW ALBUM ABOUT TO DROP
Hi folks, hope everyone
is keeping well? Sorry we've not been corresponding
much, there hasn't been a lot to talk about due to the
restrictions. The band all keep in touch via a facebook
chat group, lots of craziness as you can imagine, Tony
and Martin still not sure what half of it means, ha
ha. The amazing news is the album is almost upon us,
I've played the full album in the final order and it's
a masterpiece, we can not thank everyone enough for
supplying their skills and time for absolutely no payment,
just for the love of it, it is truly wonderful (see
the list below). The album will be available for download
from our BANDCAMP page from tomorrow (14-02-21), the
physical copy sometime next week, I think the snow may
have delayed it a few days, but you wouldn't expect
anything else from the SOH team would you, ha ha. If
you would like a copy please email - six67promo @ hotmail.com
or contact Pat Crawford on facebook, a donation from
each CD will go to 'ROCK OFF FIBRO', Fibromyalgia is
an incurable condition that inflicts constant pain throughout
the body. Thanks for sticking with us, and look after
yourselves, hopefully we will see you soon, love and
best wishes, SOH xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

2020 - NEW REMIX ALBUM COMING SOON - THERE IS MORE MADNESS
HERE
Hello Friends, well
it's been a while, we'd love to say we've been busy
behind the scenes, we were just about to start demoing
3 brand new tracks, but we couldn't travel between West
Yorkshire and South Yorkshire, so that scuppered that
plan, safety first folks, safety first. Some positive
news, we do have a new remix release almost ready, due
to lockdown and people having more time than normal,
we've had enough submissions to make a double album.
It features many of our friends, including some big
names and fellow bands we've met upon the rock and roll
motorway, we even have remixes by System Of Hate members.
More info as we conclude the artwork and track order
and a big thanks to Martin Aylward our drummer, for
painstakingly putting this project together. See below
one of the Remixes by the WEBB. There Is More Madness
Here, will be out very soon ;-) Stay SAFE............
Saturday 15th August
2020 - KEEP SAFE FOLKS, THE REVOLUTION WILL RESUME SOON
:-)
We hope everyone is
OKAY!!! and hanging in there.
We have some amazing
news, WE HAVE A SYNTH / KEYBOARD PLAYER !!
Say HELLO, Tony Jackson
!!!
Regularly seen on the
alternative and underground psychedelic circuit across
the UK playing alongside and recording with many known
musicians from the Space Rock and Steam Punk genres.
Tony has now locked his guitar in its case in favour
of teaming up with the Dark Punks very own System of
Hate on synths and keyboards. "I have very large
boots to fill after following the footsteps of Martin
Roberts and looking to making my own mark on the creations
conceived, prior to my arrival", Tony told us.
Buckle Up Folks
You Are In for A Bumpy Ride..........of course we can't
wait ;-)
Friday 1st May 2020
- Remixes Of There Is No Madness Here
Hope everyone is well?
Keep Safe.
We have asked a number
of people and some have volunteered, to remix the tracks
from the last album "TINMH". The amount of
people who are up for it, has been far beyond our expectations.
We are not entirely sure in what format these tracks
will come out, but they will, we look forward to this
ourselves ;-) More news soon.
Here's something to
try and help you through this period, another live show
(filmed by Martin our new drummer).
LIVE IN LEEDS, Recorded
on Thursday 17th May 2018 @ The Brudenell Social Club.
Monday 23rd March
2020 - All Forthcoming Gigs Cancelled, Sorry.
Hi folks, due to the
Coronavirus all forthcoming gigs have been cancelled,
we are extremely sorry but it's way beyond our control.
However, here is all the footage from our last gig at
the Black Bull (14th February).
Wednesday 9th February
2020 - Black Bull, Gateshead, St. Valentine's Day Special
(14th Feb)
Storm Dennis is just
on the horizon, we head up North to the place we love
so well, Gateshead, traffic is decent, no major holdups.
We have a slight detour, PATNav at it again, we venture
over the big river, just for a few minutes then we are
back on route. Martin greets us at the door, we unload,
Juratory also carry some gear, we are in and setting
up straight away. Martin has set his 3 cameras up, for
the ones who don’t know, he loves to record live gigs
to a high standard, what’s not to like. We sound check,
ooohhh it’s loud, sounds great, time for a drink. Mr.
Will Binks arrives early to do some promo shots of the
new lineup, if you don’t know Will, I guess you’ve never
played up here, he is documenting contemporary Punk
Rock especially in the North East, a brilliant thing
for the future historians, lovely bloke too. The shots
are brilliant, he also takes some beauties of the gig,
we are blessed, cheers Will. It’s a great audience and
our mates from Rotherham have made the journey again,
Chris and Sandra Scales so lovely to see you (and you
know why:-)) Juratory up first, still a two piece but
trying to get some more members to beef it up, its heavy
and metal, industrial and dark, solid political messages,
everything we like, it’s a good sized crowd and loud,
our Paddy even gets up for a bit of backing vocals.
Great set and gets the punters salivating for the main
course. System Of Hate up and its straight into a jaw
breaking, hammer pounding, skull bashing set of the
best stuff from both albums, plus a couple of numbers
off the EPs, finalising with an Iggy Pop / Stooges cover.
Everything is applauded to the max! The night’s been
amazing, sadly rushed by so fast, so many good friends
here, great venue, great people and we will be back!!!
Thank You Gateshead !!!!!!
Saturday 8th February
2020 - Westgate 23, Heckmondwike (31st Jan), Cutlers
Arms, Rotherham (2nd Feb)
Happy New Year People
!! We’ve had a bit of a slow start to the year but you
know us, we are well and truly back in business. We
still promoted the Spunk Volcano / Sons Of El Roacho
gig even though Martin couldn’t play due to a rather
nasty eye injury, we pulled out at the last minute but
the gig was still a massive success.
We had a quick rehearsal
on the Thursday evening the 30th with Martin, he had
been out of action since very early January. We then
headed to Heckmondwike for our debut gig with him on
the 31st of January (2020, his vision back to some normality).
A great little venue, lovingly promoted by Mikk, a great
lad and not shy of putting in his all, for the good
of the scene. We arrive early, traffic is good and we
get straight into setting up and sound checking, sounds
great. The Potential Victims arrive from the Manchester
side, they set up just as quick. The room is filling
up, quite a few decent musicians in the audience (1919,
Unholy Alliance, Kingcrows, possibly more). A lad has
travelled 2 hours from Tamworth just to watch us, big
respect and we might not have the most fans but they
are bloody loyal, thank you! The Pot Vics kick off,
raw Punk with a metal touch, they have the place rocking
and sound great, great set and good people. We will
play with them again for sure. System up and it’s Martin’s
1st time in the drum stool, let’s go!! We rage thru
a set of 1st album to the last album, no let up, no
messing around, Martin pulling out a performance we
knew he had in him, the reason we wanted him for the
job, excellent beginnings, just what the doctor ordered
!!! A big thumbs up for Martin. A wonderful night, great
crowd, we will be back, thanks to everyone who travelled,
far and near xx
Sunday the 2nd of February
and we play a matinee show at the Cutlers in Rotherham.
Traffic is good, we all arrive by 3pm, fun time as usual
with the PA but we get there in the end, our second
super travelers of the weekend, Tim and Ann have made
the journey from Cambridge, wow, not the first time
either, it’s great to see them as always. Chairs Missing
up first, a Wire tribute act, yes there aren’t many
about, friends of Martin and lovely people, they do
just over 30 minutes of Wire material (strangely enough),
the audience are enjoying it, as did we, great set and
warms things up very nicely. It’s a great turn out for
a Sunday and System Introduce Martin to Cutlers (although
for the trainspotters amongst you he has supported SOH
in said venue, twice before). We blast into the first
album to 2nd album set list order as per Friday, definitely
hitting the crowd between the eyes, the materiel is
well known here, in a place we’ve played many times.
Again Martin gets a grand reaction from the Punk and
Rock faithful of these here parts, we end with an unrehearsed
“Insanity”, sounds mighty and strikes a chord with all
things current at the moment. It’s been a triumphant
welcoming to the World of all things System and Martin
is now full of Hate!!! Thanks for all your support,
we love you all !!! Good to see Derek & Jane (their
first ever punk gig i think?) Onwards and Upwards !
Next stop : St. Valentines Day in Gateshead, bring a
loved one, you know it makes sense !!
Saturday 18th January
2020 - New Drummer
Welcome our new drummer!!!!
We are happy to announce Martin Aylward has joined the
System Of Hate family. Martin is no stranger to the
post-punk rock scene of Yorkshire and has played in
several influential bands, especially in Leeds. He brings
a wealth of experience and we can not wait to make beautiful
dark music together ;-) Onwards and Upwards people !!!!!!!
Sunday 24th November
2019 - Morecambe Punk Festival 2019 (15th/16th/17th
Nov)
Our second trip to Morecambe
this year, the picturesque snow topped hills which lie
beyond this fascinating bay, with its dangerous and
chaotic tides and even more beautiful when the sun shines.
3 days of Punk influences bands playing this historical
venue, the Alhambra opened in 1901, it has seen better
days but just the job for this event. Lee and Caroline
Wood and team have put an amazing line up together and
we are so proud to be onboard. Friday was amazing, a
few sore heads, the drink prices are very Yorkshire
friendly ?? and the on-site food is also and very tasty,
no reason to leave. So we play Saturday, Carl’s last
stand, last gig, wow 7 or so years of Systemising the
Hate, a lovely slot after our hometown friends; ‘The
Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican’, it’s good to catch
up.
We have almost 2 hours
to set up, there’s 3 stages you see, and round our slot
they are using the other 2 stages, so loads of chill
time. Anyways, about 3 minutes before our stage time,
Carl says, “we are on in 3 minutes”, aaaarrrhhhhhh,
toilet and then all hands to the pump, we’d been reminiscing
bout the old days and lost track of time. We hit the
stage, luckily Scott Doonican and Co are running overtime
slightly, Mr. Badaxe comes to announce us and Paddy
is stood at the bar, it’s only 3 yards away but why
or why?? You have to laugh, it’s a big crowd and a very
receptive one, special thanks to Lee Campbell (Vomit)
for putting our name forward for this event, it’s his
stage too, he’s stood at the side with Lee Wood and
Big Gerald is taking photos (we might even get a mention
in Vive Le Rock - fingers crossed), we are on fire,
slick, fast changes between songs and just on time.
What a gig, what a Festival,
Carl goes out in style, the Punk Family is alive and
kicking, well done all involved!!!!! The sound people
have done good, the bars all very efficient and speedy.
Special Thanks to Gail (Merch and band mother) and Bri
Feather for top roadie duties. The Saturday is just
as good as Friday, for me Sunday is even better, a wonderful
mix of Punk genres all weekend. Fan-bloody-tastic, we
love our scene, god saves !!!!! A big thumbs up from
Barnsley xxxxxx
Tuesday 12th November
2019 - Back at the Bull, Gateshead (8th November)
Another Friday night
of traveling in very congested rush hour traffic but
when you got bills to pay, this is the only way. We
have a slight detour round Gateshead, ha ha, old PATnav
at it again. We arrive to a lovely welcome, it’s good
to be back, we love this place. A pint ready on the
bar as we rush to sound check, sounds massive, a new
desk and we are happy. Unholy Alliance soundcheck and
they sound just as good, we are running a little late
but all is good. The first band have cried off, a sore
throat, it actually helps with both bands being effected
by the travel chaos. The bodies file in and our great
friends are here and it’s a good turn out, especially
for a awful cold wet night. The Alliance up first, it’s
more metal than punk from these former English Dogs,
the singer from the metal version of the dogs and the
rest from Wakey’s punk band version, it is an Unholy
Alliance for sure. They are great players, tight as
and make a great noise, it’s riff-tastic and they finish
with a fantastic Ruts cover, excellent set, great stuff.
System up next and it’s bang straight into the set,
one after the other, no messing about here. So many
saying that tonight is one of the best performances
they’ve seen, Carl’s last visit to these parts could
certainly up his game, we are on fire that’s for sure.
We all seem totally relaxed and bash thru a set of well
travelled System songs, the audience lovely as always,
great sound, great vibe, great night! We drink up and
tonight we are staying at Bob’s house, a taxi home in
a disco bus, we crash from the utter brilliance of the
evening, thanks so much Bob for having us. Next stop;
Morecambe Punk Festival !!!!
Friday 1st November
2019 - Old School House, Barnsley (25th October)
Well folks, for those
of you who know or those of you who don’t, Carl (our
Drummer) put his notice in around a month ago, he’s
sticking around while we fill the position. We haven’t
fallen out, his health isn’t quite right and his head’s
not in the band, 7 years we’ve done as the original
line up, so tonight, will most probably be his last
local gig. So that clears that bit up, back to the gig.
It’s raining cats and dogs, Southampton are also taking
a battering too, 9 nil down to Leicester, it’s quiet
foot fall wise, but band wise it’s noisy as hell. Toronto
Blessings have blown the power out during sound check,
it’s down for a hour or so but we’ve made good time.
The ‘Blessings open up, our new favourite local band
(check em out), noise and power in abundance, lovely
lads, great set (think the Pixies meet the Idles) and
well appreciated by the few in the crowd. System last,
unrehearsed but who’d know, the safe set powered thru,
everyone of us, at our peak, the few really appreciate
the effort we’ve put in, we could be playing to 1000,
still the same effort, sometimes you remember these
gigs more. 3 songs to go and the “new” drummer walks
in, he’s been to watch a gig in Manchester and it’s
finished early, so he’s zoomed over to catch the show.
These are sad times but the show must go on, next stop:
Gateshead !!
Wednesday 23rd October
2019 - The
Ferret, Preston with Ginnel, System of Hate and The
Membranes (18th September)
We are very excited
to be travelling to Preston, a new location for us and
we have friends there. Some of us finish work early
(a kind boss) and we set off for 5pm, it’s dark, rainy
and gloomy. We get to the Huddersfield part of the M62
and we are in a total standstill, we are stuck a good
hour, it’s not ideal and it’s times like this you actually
question why we do these things, but we do dear reader
and we do it just for you. We arrive quite late but
luck has it, we haven’t missed any of the opening act.
We say our hellos and it’s a very friendly place, Evil
Blizzard are here as punters and it’s lovely to see
them. It’s a tiny place but we don’t mind, the sound
is great and we will make it work. There’s not much
room left on the merch table, but we somehow squish
in.
Ginnel open up, great
Manchester vibe, the Fall are defo am influence and
for me that’s no bad thing, very bass heavy with a spoken
vocal style suiting the music very well. Great set and
nice blokes, check them out.
System up next and you
remember the old record breakers, how many people can
you get in a phone box or in a mini? Well with these
big boned boys it’s a tight squeeze on the Ferret stage
but a very pleasurable experience, we blast thru a 70
/ 30 split of the two albums. It’s made the journey
from hell, a distant memory and we have made good new
friends here today! Also, can we thank the organisers
for putting the times back to accommodate us and the
sound man for his patience, thanks so much.
The Membranes finish
the night, John Robb our record label gaffer just back
from injury (kidney stones hospitalisation), he’s back
and strutting his stuff. It’s a massive noise scape,
bass riding high in the mix, drums gluing it all together,
really great musicianship, up close and personal. The
Membranes are really doing something different, it’s
been an amazing night of bands, everyone a little different,
each one a gem. Preston we love you and we will be back,
great venue the Ferret and great staff!!! Next gig :
Barnsley!!
Sunday 8th September
2019 - Cutlers Rotherham (1st September)
It's our first gig back
since Rebellion and we are raring to get back in the
saddle. We are in Rotherham, an early one today, a place
we love to play although the PA can be somewhat of a
conundrum. The sun is out, the pub is full and our good
friends Juratory have travelled down for the North East.
We eventually get the sound something like and Juratory
kick off with their Industrial, Goth Rock. A two piece
(guitar and bass) with a pile driving, slab hammer drum
machine, lovely dark metal riffs, all mixed together
for an anti political joy ride, good messages and good
people, great set, Well Done. System up next, we start
with 'In Shadow Of The Cross', the one we ended on at
Rebellion, we like to mix it up. It's a great turn out,
people have travelled from Huddersfield, Accrington
and Cambridge, to name the more obscure places, makes
it all worth while. We 'bulldozer' thru the set, "There
Is No Madness Here", back in the set (the Wigan lads
will be pleased, so disappointed at Rebellion). 'Harvest
For The Dispossessed', a brand new song makes its first
outing, we have started writing the 3rd album, so Rotherham
gets the first taster, and results are good. The crowd
shouts for more, we give it, a great afternoon and tea
time session. Thanks to everyone at the Cutlers and
everyone who attended, Cheers Very Much!!!!

13th August - Rebellion
Weekend -1st / 2nd / 3rd / 4th August - Rebellion, Blackpool
2019
Review from Patchchord
News (Raymond Thomson)
"System Of Hate brought
their Dark Punk to the CASBAH again this year. After
the delayed launch of their much anticipated album "There
Is No Madness Here", which was planned for Rebellion
last year, the guys were keen to air it live on the
big stage. With a tentative start, the band got their
monitor mix sorted and grew in confidence through out
the set. They have high expansive sound which was deserving
of the big stage and System Of Hate are very popular
judging by the number of T shirts on display. One of
my favourite albums from last year, it was great to
hear some of the stand out tracks from the album."

august 2019 - Old School House, Barnsley with Kingcrows
& Toronto Blessings (Friday 19th July)
A very rare hometown
gig, back at the Old School House, wow a cloud burst
as we load up, where did that come from? We load in
and sound check straight away, Kingcrows do the same,
it's running like clockwork. Murray the drummer of Toronto
Blessings is coming straight from work so they just
get their stuff set and wait. It's turning out very
nice, a great crowd has assembled, even with Tramlines
on in Sheffield, in fact it's one of best attended System
gigs where we've headlined. Toronto Blessings up first,
the guys are influenced by the Idles but there's more
to them, Pixies in there and a solid rock / metal attitude
which you would expect from their history (Cavorts /
GU Medicine, etc). It's a great set and they set the
bar high. Kingcrows up next, one of the hardest working
bands on the scene and really big friends of ours, we
supported them on our very first ever gig, so we go
back. They blast into their rock n sleaze, loads of
energy and action, great visual presence and a real
crowd pleasing set, never a dull moment and we will
all share a beer at Rebellion!! We have fans from Grimsby
and Cambridge, who have travelled the furthest, makes
it totally worthwhile, we hit the stage running, it's
warm on stage. It's the secret Rebellion set, we blast
thru it, we play amazing, the lights, the sound, the
crowd, make it a great nite, as I said before, it's
been so well attended, a pleasure to be part. Thanks
for your support everyone !!! Next stop :- Blackpool
!!!

2019 - Here Comes Summer, All Dayer at Molly's Chambers,
Birkenhead (Sat. 13th July)
We meet up in an extremely
warm Barnsley, today we head to Birkenhead to play an
All Dayer, we are headlining but we set off at 11.30am
and we will watch every band, we are the second band
to arrive and the last to leave. We stop at the promoter's
house, Mr. Steve Hock, and what wonderful care he takes
of us, an absolutely amazing event and a great day of
bands.
Review below by Johnny
Reay;
"well blow me over,
what an amazing day. our first all dayer mini punks
fest at Molly's. this new little venue is the mutts
nuts, quirky, spacious, not too big but nice and personal.
over looking balcony to stage with great views of the
stage from pretty much everywhere. I think my new fave
venue. right then, a band i'd not seen before and have
been waiting to catch for some time, Elektra 56,
rockabilly rock n roll. fantastic guitar work and thudding
drum set, covered Enola Gay in a rock n roll version,
shouldn't work, but it did, oh yes. great set lads,
cheers. next up, The Kirkz, bit of skater
punk from the lads, loud, in ya face with attitude.
brilliant. cheers. swiftly following on, one of the
best bands on the circuit hailing from Liverpool, we
have the awesome Sheepy, with the extra
guitar giving this already boss band a bit more depth,
banging out some old songs and new. stunning set from
Luke and the lads n lass. love em to bits. taking me
back to the 80's, synth pop due The Webb,
filling the air with electronic sound and drum noise,
loud, futuristic throwback to days gone by. spot on.
Oi Oi, who be this then, its only Geoffrey Oi!cott
in Birkenhead, the cricketers putting on some loud,
fast and styish oi music for the crowd, always a pleaser,
top set, cheers lads. Following on with our very own
Biteback, Hocky, Mandy and John showing
what old school punk is, never tire of this band, another
blinding set set from the local lot. fantastic. mwah.
next on stage, the prolific Potential Victims,
a truly established band in punk land, never fail to
impress with their original style. amazing set, cheers
yet again. Aaaand finally, another one of my fave bands,
System of Hate, dark, thought provoking,
bassy punk. massive presence on stage, dare I say Killing
Jokesque punk rock. massive deep bass lines banging
ya chest cavity, incredible vocals, sublime drum and
lead guitar. astonishing band, plus paddy didn't go
flying this time. so there ya have it, Hocky yet again
pulls it out the bag, another great success, another
great gig. cheers to all who made this day happen, Hocky,
bar staff, doorstaff, the bands and of course the punters.
PUNK ROCK. cheers n beers (ciders) !!"

We are already confirmed
for next year, excellent news!!! Next Gig :- Barnsley
at The Old School House.....Friday 19th July.
Tuesday 9th July
2019 - Waterloo Music Bar, Blackpool with The Membranes
& Shot Balowski (5th July)
2 years exactly to the
day and we are back at the excellent Waterloo Venue
in Blackpool, with our great friends; The Membranes
which has our Record Label boss John Robb at the helm.
It's a rush over the Pennines as work gets in the way,
we leave after 5 (Paddy messing about with his hair,
holds the job up further.) Traffic isn't too bad, it's
warm in the HateBus but spirits are high, we arrive
around 7, we've missed sound check, can't be helped,
we load in, set the merch up and then relax. We have
a nice catch up with Spenny from "Punk's Not Dead But
I'm Not Far off" Facebook page, 3 members of the Evil
Blizzard (Pete, Stuart & Mark) have come to the gig,
which is amazing and great to catch up. Shot Balowski
open the show, with youth and energy in abundance, they
get the place warmed up, I can hear some Oasis (sorry),
some Dead Boys, it's good, it's defo not punk by numbers,
great set, sorry we didn't chance to chat.
We rush the stage, set
up as quick as poss, we just guess the levels, all take
a pee break and then just go straight into 'Blackfire',
it sounds amazing, the crowd gradually creep forward.
We keep banging out the noise, the audience keep coming
and it's nice to see the similes on their faces. We
finish absolutely drained, we've given it our all, we
are totally satisfied and can now enjoy the fantastic
hospitality, "another Red Stripe, please barman".
John and the boys up
next, the crowd pour to the very front, the Membranes
are back where it all started for them (Blackpool, with
a few new members since the beginning). It's a cracking
set, John is prowling the stage, pacing like a caged
animal, keeping the heartbeat of the dark bass pounding,
the guitars let the light in, experimental noises it
seems, but all so fitting, the drums solid, the glue
holding the whole show together. It's not everyone's
cup of tea but why follow type, why run with the crowd,
why be another cog in their machine, this is amazing
and I love every second of the performance, Well Done
lads, amazing stuff! We get to know the big secret too,
that "Goldblade are to play Rebellion", same day as
us, Thursday, excellent. The sound, lights, organisation
has been amazing, love this venue!!!
Thanks to everyone who
came down, special thanks to Paul the soundman, Darran
for booking us and Ian Fletcher for all your kindness!!!!
Your venue my friend is Amazing !!! We have a nice walk
to the sea front on Saturday and call in for a lovely
Full English, we do like our snap us Barnsley folk :-)
There is a slight problem with the oil in the HateBus
??? It's completely dry but it gets sorted (total head
scratcher that one ??) and we are homeward bound and
back to normality, if there is such a thing :-) Next
stop : Birkenhead, let the circus continue !!!

2019 - Parish,
Huddersfield with Criminal Justice & Bleed (Fri
21st June)
Our second trip to the
Parish, and we are headlining tonight, it's a pleasantly
warm evening. We are a little late but do get a decent
sound check, I like this venue, it's honest and homely.
A good crowd of people are drinking on the tables outside,
great atmosphere. Our old mates Bleed open the show,
it's been a good while since we shared a stage, good
honest punk rock, lots of noise and anger, great to
catch up. Criminal Justice up next, the recently reformed
local band from the 80's, nice friendly people and they
make a decent racket too, it's more from the thrash
side of Punk and it's good. Extinction Of Mankind's
Ste and Scoot make the journey from Manchester just
to watch us, Ste loves us and we really, really appreciate
their kind words, thanks so much, Ste makes us sign
up for a gig in Manchester next year. We hit the stage,
pumped and ready, new songs in the set tonight, not
brand new, "We Who Walk With God" and "Ill Are The Cursed"
from album #2, we are on fire, great audience, good
people, we will be back. Next up the "B" Tour, Blackpool,
Birkenhead, Barnsley & reBellion Blackpool, Come join
the Circus of Chaos :-) Cheers Folks !!!!

2019 - Nice n' Sleazy Festival, Morecambe (Friday to
Sunday 24th-26th May)
Our first time at the
Nice n' Sleazy Festival in Morecambe, a lovely family,
friendly event. Pat & Gail are travelling up on Friday
for the whole thing, the rest of us travel up on Sunday.
There's a main indoor stage, an outside marquee stage
(where we play) and a small acoustic stage, in the main
building. It's very laid back, everyone is on the same
page and the drinks prices are very welcoming too :-).
This is also the first time we've all camped. Sunday
and we start getting the gear into the backstage area,
we have the advantage of there being a stage break just
before we go on, so we get loads of time to sound check
perfectly, fair play to the soundman James, cheers for
your patience. The bass is vibrating so much; Pat's
pedals are spinning round like a washing machine, it's
sounds well though, as do we all. We are up against
an Elvis impersonator in the acoustic bar, he isn't
so 'lonesome tonight', even so the tent is full and
there quite a few in for the sound check. We blast thru
an unrehearsed festival set (yes, bloody work gets in
the way and is the curse of the poor) lots of new faces
and far more kids than we've ever placed to, plus the
good friends and lunatics we know so well. Paddy hits
the deck in approximately Round 2, but it's seconds
out and luckily for us Chris Wright of Crashed Out,
is watching stage side, picks him up (like a seaside
grabber machine, ha ha) and we fight on. Onstage sound
is great and I'm assuming it's pretty damn good on the
other side as the crowd bounce along, we also do a packet
on merchandise (Well Done Gail), it's been a great trip.
We squirrel our gear away to safety, then it's watering
time, you can lead a horse to water but you wont get
Paddy to carry any gear, Thanks Bri Feather for all
ya help. We enjoy the rest of the bands. We will sleep
tonight, that's for sure!!! Buzzing !!! Best wishes
to the Nice N Sleazy Crew, we really hope to return
to this fantastic festival in the future, Well Done
all involved!!
Monday 20th May 2019
- Black Bull, Gateshead (Friday 10th May)
One of our favourite
venues to play, the (Doll at the) Black Bull and we
are rushing up the A1 to make sound check, it's a lovely
evening and a very pleasant drive on the Hate Bus. Gail
is otherwise engaged this evening so the lovely Brian
is cover on roadie & merch duties. We arrive, immediately
set up and sound check, the sound amazing, quick beer
and then we change and relax. The supports are more
metal than punk which is a nice change, a couple of
bands have pulled out. Nation In Ruin up first, quite
melodic metal, 5 piece, decent enough tunes, played
with confidence and swagger, the drummer is having technical
difficulties but they get thru it, nice warm up to start
the evening. Kilonova next up, female fronted screamy
solid metal rock, lots of aggregation and good vibes,
good tight set, lovely people and they took the time
to talk to us and stay til the end, which is always
nice (and not for everyone in bands tonight :-)). System
up last, it's a lovely welcoming vibe from the crowd,
the feeling is mutual. We love this venue, we blast
thru the set, the on stage sound and lights are perfect,
we all feel on it and we play amazing. We finish with
an extra encore, got to give a bit back, merch is good,
life is great, we retire to the bar and drink and laugh
into the wee wee hours, can't wait to get back. Next
stop - Morecambe Nice N Sleazy Festival, we play Sunday!!!!
Monday 15th April
2019 - Angelic Upstarts, SOH, Chaos 8, Old School House,
Sheffield Hunt Sabs Fundraiser (6th April)
A Saturday in Barnsley
and the sun is out, advanced tickets have sold extremely
well. It's going to be a busy one. We are gathered here
today to raise money for the Sheffield Hunt Saboteurs,
with the music being provided by; The Angelic Upstarts,
SOH and Chaos 8. Oh the irony of the Grand National
being shown on the TV in the barroom. The online sales
were good enough for us not to worry about the numbers
at all, so every extra walk up is a lovely bonus for
the Sabs money total. Chaos 8 up first and the room
is rammed, the band who we know so well, sound great,
Beki and the boys, blast thru 40 minutes of great self
written Industrial 'Killing Joke influenced' material,
which is not wasted on this crowd. System up next, wow
what a crowd, we are bouncing off the walls, totally
up for it, the sound is massive, as is the crowds reaction
and we are loving it. 45 minutes of noise with lots
of new faces in the room, thanks to so many people travelling
from different places, the Upstarts can still pull a
crowd. Upstarts up last, a hour and a half of Angelic
classics, massive smiles on their faces, great cause,
great people, we have all made a difference! The Sheffield
Hunt Sabs walk away £1250 the better, that's a good
amount and will help them keep up the good fight. We
are so proud to be part of organising of this event
with Julian Kynaston and Brian Feather. Special Thanks
to Marcus and all the staff at the Old School House.
Next up :- Nice N Sleazy Morecambe !!!
Wednesday 3rd April
2019 - Westgate 23, Heckmondwike (Friday 29th March)
It's Friday and the
weather has been quite lovely, a touch colder now as
we head to Westgate 23 in Heckmondwike for the 1st time.
It's a small but long room, with a stage, vocal PA,
a nice and honest, with a bar at the back. All the trendies
in the other bars are totally oblivious to what dark
magic music is occurring in the concert room. Yur Mum
have hot tailed it up from London, setting off at 4pm
and here in good time, they wave hello as we are sound
checking. The room is filling up even at this stage.
Yur Mum sound check quickly and there's no problems
at all, there 1st gig in the UK since their recent US
tour. It's a cracking scene here and the room is full,
with quite a few people we know , Yur Mum part Brazilian,
part Hungarian blast into their rock punk rage, it's
full, energetic, tight and a nice refreshing change,
great musicians and very much appreciated here in Hecky,
excellent set. System up last, the room is buzzing,
there's a lovely warm friendly vibe. We blast thru the
'safe' set, due to day/night jobs we haven't been able
to rehearse, who would know. It's a great buzz when
we get off, so much love in the room. Both merch tables
are busy, it's been good, cheers Mikk for caring to
put this together, I know he was chuffed with the gig
pairing, so were we. We will be back, next stop : our
beloved Barnsley !! Fox Off You Hunts !
22nd March 2019 -
Fibbers, York with Anti Nowhere League (15th March)
It's almost a year to
the day we last played at the Fibbers, again with Anti
Nowhere League and we are so glad to be back. It's an
early set off and we are sound checked by 7pm, excellent
sound and now time to relax. It's filling up nicely
and the rumours are everyone has gone to watch the Stranglers
in Leeds, but it's not true. We bang out 40 minutes
to a crowd of unfamiliar faces, but they are clapping
and whooping, so we are doing something right, we play
very well and all finish with a smile. Anti Nowhere
league up and Animal (Nick to us) has a fever/virus
but the show must go on and he sniffles thru a passionate
set of great songs. It's an early finish 10-15pm and
we are home for midnight. Great evening and good to
see the League again, nice bit of merch sold, next stop

20th March 2019 -
Cutlers, Rotherham with Domt / Underdogs (4pm - Sunday
3rd March)
It's our first Rotherham
gig of the year, and someone's decided to put a Punk
gig on up the road, onwards and upwards. We've added
a Norwegian band at the last minute Domt from Oslo,
Patrick who managers the Dead Objectives has brought
them over. They open proceedings, a nice tight 3 piece,
female vocals with guitar and two tall fellows make
up the rhythm section. It's solid, screamy power punk
with heavy rock in there, I can hear bits of Nirvana,
it's great stuff and the audience love it. The Underdogs
from Leeds up next, a Riot City Records band who had
such bad luck back in the day with the label going bust,
as they were just about to blossom. A nice tight set,
it's old school punk, brilliant lyrics and played confidently
with a smile on their faces, really good lads and a
pleasure to have them on board, great set. System up
last and it's nice to see Ian Beck documenting most
punk gigs in Rotherham and Gary M Hough (see photo below)
is here too from Accrington, both taking amazing photographs.
The sound and support is great, we blast thru the set
and it's a great afternoon. Wonderful People have travelled
from all over, we can't Thank You enough, even Pat's
daughter is here selling jewellery (her 1st system of
hate experience). A great mix of music and lovely beautiful
people, all around us. Next stop : York with ANWL.
25th February 2019
- Anti Nowhere League at Yardbirds, Grimsby (February
23rd 2019)
We set off nice the
early, the sun is blazing today, it's glorious for February.
Our first time in Grimsby and we've heard so many good
things about the Yardbirds. ANWL are sound checking
as we enter the building, nice stage, we get a great
feeling about the place. We sound check a couple of
songs, no samples tonight due to tech diffs, the show
must go on. Couple of hours to chill and the room fills
up very nicely, lovely chatty folks everywhere. We also
have a good chin wag with 'the League' lads, share a
few beers and hear some great road tales. The place
is run by the Warlocks Motorcycle Club, there will be
no trouble here. We can't wait to hit and give the audience
a 45 minute ear pounding of Systems' finest. There's
200 plus people in and we can feel the love, as the
set concludes there's a bevy of dances down the front,
perfect gig. The League up next and it's a great set,
lots of different songs from the last time we played
together, the sign of a band looking after their fans.
We are running ANWL's merch as well as ours (Well Gail
is, she's a good un :-)) Its been an amazing night,
well worth it, thanks Dave For inviting us to play &
special thanks to Karl Barratt for your kindness, Tony
on the sound, his first gig at the venue, great stuff
all round, door staff, security and bar people, thanks
a million !!!!!

25th February 2019
- Fidder's Elbow, Camden, London (February 16th 2019)
Saturday 16th February
- London We all meet at Dodworth Train Station at 8-30am,
as we are making our way to Sheffield to catch the Megabus
from Meadowhall. A bit of hustle and bustle getting
on, guitars safely in the special compartment, we are
aboard and all sat together, happy days. It's a decent
journey, we reach the big smoke on time then taxi up
to the digs, we refresh and reach the venue in Camden
for round about 5pm, we say our hellos, a quick sound
check then get something to eat. The Good For Nothings
open and it's an absolute breathe of fresh air, AC/DC
meet Lynyrd Skynyrd with a touch of New York Dolls,
loads of energy and a much appreciated set. Eastfield
roll up next. It's more old school with their own brand
of steam train punk, lovely energy and very sing along
'tracks', lots of mentions of the Megabus (nice nod
to ourselves). It's fun and years of hard work pay off
as a packed audience lap it up, great set. System Of
Hate up next, it's borrowed gear again due to travelling
on previous said Megabus, we are still very DIY so it's
plug n play and we can't Thank Jesse and the Eastfield
people enough for allowing their gear to be systemised.
It's a lovely reaction from the crowd and we give em
it large, despite the tiredness of travelling for most
of the day, poor Paddy even has to have a lay down afterwards
(little lamb). It's great to be here and we can't thank
Barnet enough for booking us, we also get booked for
the 2020 Undercover Festival, thru tonight's performance,
happy system. The London Sewage Company up last and
it's more rock n roll style pub punk, well crafted,
straight to the point songs, giving the audience a nice
feel good ending to the night. Gail our merch girl even
goes off dancing, she's deserved it, she's been busy.
So all in all it's great to get away with the lads and
blow the cob webs off, lots of laughter and fun. We
get home around Sunday tea time, next stop, Saturday
23rd : Grimsby with the ANWL !!!

January 2019 - System Of Hate, Judatory & Zero Tolerance,
Black Bull - Gateshead (26th January)
We love Gateshead and
it's a Saturday gig, we always struggle with the old
Saturday gig caper. The weather is awful, wet, windy
but the hate bus is flying up the A1, we arrive for
6pm. Straight into the sound check, it sounds massive,
time to relax with a few drinks. The other bands trickle
in and by 8pm Zero Tolerance hit the stage. A relatively
new band (5 gigs in) with a Ruts feel, earlier punk
vibe, bass driven, a bag of great songs, good set and
they really warm the crowd up, nice lads and a pleasure
to know. Next up, Judatory with our big mate Stoney
at the helm, the guy who was plagued to death over the
album artwork, a Saint. The bass player, Mike is having
a nightmare; not only does his amp blow but then he
spills a drink over his pedals, he battles on. A two
piece at the moment, they discharge a powerful noise,
drum loops and solid metallic guitar riffs, like a wall
of menace, pounding at your eardrums. Not everyone's
cup of tea but every moment, movement is meant with
total conviction, excellent. System up last and it's
a packed room, the biggest we've played to up here.
We play for over a hour, a mix of old and new, we play
as good as we can, the crowd know it and respond accordingly.
No rehearsal prior to this gig either, due to work commitments,
who'd know? The brand new CDs sell like hot cakes, it's
been another wonderful trip, thanks so much everyone
for turning out!! Shev does an amazing job on sound
n light!! Cheers Tintin for running the door and Maz
too for running an excellent establishment. We arise
at 11am Sunday to hot drinks and bacon sandwiches, what's
not to like? Amazing times and friends...........We
will be back, next stop :- London !!

January 2019 - Spunk Volcano & The Eruptions, Sons
Of El Roacho, Old School House (18th January)
The snow is falling
and it's Spunk Volcano day at the Old School House,
Barnsley. Spunk and the lads have a sound check, 1st
time ever here, the place is absolutely rammed, the
snow is stopping. .... Yeahhh! Sons Of El Roacho open
and it's their first gig in almost 6 months, 2 members
have been really, really poorly and it's a miracle they
are playing today but thank god they're back. The sound
is revitalised, the lads fresh and sound amazing, even
a second guitarist, excellent set, great start to the
night. System up next, the cd is finally here, so it's
another album launch, ha ha. It's lovely to play to
a full house and see the whites of the audiences' eyes,
we play out of our skins, the venue is at boiling point.
Spunk Volcano and the Eruptions up next, our Australian
friend Scott is now a member, lovely metal sounding
guitar. People have travelled from all over to be here
tonight and we can't thank them enough for supporting
our event. Spunk is on great form, the crowd is bouncing,
lots of gags and great banter with the punk rock family.
It's a great performance and rounds the night off wonderfully.
The sound and lights have been second to none, it's
run like a well oiled machine, the bar, the lads on
the door, thanks so much and thanks so much to everyone
who came, we can't thank you so much. Next stop: Gateshead!!
Saturday -
28th December 2018 - Geoffrey Oi!Cott's Xmas Do, Brudenell
Social Club, Leeds (15th December)
Happy Xmas & New
Year Friends !! Straight to the point, there is no CD
here (see what we did there), we will send em out as
soon as we have them. The Pressing company are still
messing around, we are extremely sorry................
Review of the gig by
our friend Dale Farrow;
First band on was Litterbug
but due to late arrival I only caught the end of the
last number so can’t really comment.
Next up was Unholy Alliance,
featuring former members of The English Dogs, both the
punk and metal versions we were informed by the singer
and there was some definite “shredding” in the guitar
department to back this up. A solid set kept the early
arrivals entertained.
Boilermaker, proudly
announcing themselves from the North East, followed
and started off with the catchy “Everyone wants to be
a Boilermaker”. By now more people had braved the horrendous
weather and the room was starting to fill up with an
appreciative crowd gathered in front of the stage and
Boilermaker’s collection of old-school originals warmed
the cockles, got the feet tapping and in some cases
a bit of sing-along.
Paul Carter provided
a fine solo acoustic interlude of confidence and assurance
with a mixture of originals and the odd, very odd in
fact, covers. Mixed in with his own songs about shit
computers we were treated to a version of Yakkety Sax
(the old Benny Hill Show theme tune) with Paul playing
a mean kazoo as well as finishing off with Chuck Berry’s
My Ding-a-ling which took many of us back to being schoolkids
and having a chuckle about ding-a-lings: certainly got
a good a sing-along about dinga-a-lings! Paul really
is a top entertainer.
The mood changes from
the festive to the downright dark with System of Hate
kicking off with Sanatoria, as far away from Chuck Berry’s
novelty tune as it’s possible to be. A selection of
old favourites and new songs from the “There Is No Madness
Here” album spotlighted a band at the top of their game.
Despite the subject matter of their material and the
relentless power of the music, Pat can’t resist a smile,
often after persistent attempts from Paddy to force
a grin. However, Paddy fell foul of his own antics!
While squatting down to allow young fan, Declan (more
of him later), the opportunity to pluck a few strings
along with him, he fell backwards and played the rest
of the song on his backside, much to Declan’s amusement.
Having picked himself up, Paddy re-joined the relentless
attack on the senses that is System of Hate at their
best and they were spot on, if not Christmassy. Declan
then joined the band on stage and looked every inch
the star.
From the all in black
System of Hate to Geoffrey Oi!Cott kitted out in their
cricketing whites giving us a mixture of traditional
punk/oi and cricket – what’s not to love. Playing everything
off the front foot, the OiCotts gave us a couple of
new(ish) numbers as well as old faves like that homage
to women’s cricket, Fanny Batter on a Sticky Wicket.
An unashamedly “Yawksher” band, Geoffrey Oi!Cott are
always great entertainment.
From “Yawksher” to South
London, the penultimate band on were Hard Skin. Announcing
themselves with plenty of “loadsamoney” style south
v north banter, Hard Skin are an oi band with plenty
of sing-along numbers and tongue firmly in (ample) cheeks.
Only a band with a bucket load of balls and humour could
come to Leeds and fire off the insults like they did,
particularly with a song like Boys In Blue, a celebration
of Millwall FC, not a popular opponent for Leeds Utd!
Further songs about Wankers and Sausages really got
the crowd going and well warmed up for the evening’s
headliners.
Dirt Box Disco are a
band with an endless supply of songs that you either
know already or will be singing along to by the end
of the second chorus – now that’s a real skill. Dirt
Box, who as well as being bastards and loving it, have
a sack full of memorable songs and a loyal following,
increasing by the gig, who are part of every number.
We were treated to classics like My Life Is Shit, Burning,
Guest List, Standing in a Queue as well as more recent
numbers like Joyce’s Voices and Teenage Lovestruck Blues
and all of them sung with gusto from the stage and the
audience. We were introduced to Declan again now that
he’d got over his encounter with System of Hate’s Paddy,
and told by Weeb that his ambition was to crowd surf
to Dirt Box. The audience, who had already taken Declan
to their hearts, dutifully obliged and Declan spent
a song surfing above the crowd much to everyone’s delight.
All too quickly we got to LGFW and Dirt Box Days and
with as much of the crowd on stage as left in the pit,
the evening was over.
30th November
2018 - Hallcross, Doncaster (23rd Nov) O.S.H, Barnsley
(Sunday 26th November)
Doncaster (Friday
23rd Nov. 18)
We set off to where
it all began, our 1st ever gig, the Hallcross, Doncaster.
It's cold, wet, windy and Black Friday to boot, we can't
wait to make some noise. The Jan Doyle band join the
line up at the last minute, he wants to play, the more
the merrier. It's an electro pop duo on paper, in real
life; a cabaret torch singing, floor rolling; Human
league meets Marc Almond style in sound with a Punk
attitude. Oh it's entertaining alright, this lad would
put on the same show if he was playing to a full Albert
Hall, a fantastic opening to the evening. Our really
great friends Klammer up next, 3 albums out of post
punk perfection and they perform some of their best
bits. Another new drummer, Rob, so he's only learnt
so many songs, he's a nice lad and fits in really well.
It's a strong set and the soundman has done a great
job, excellent set. System headline and we start with
"Insanity", yes it's been a longtime but this is a historical
return so we wanted to mark it with an old classic.
We rattle thru the set, it's tight and well received.
An excellent night and a triumphant return, next stop
: Barnsley.

Barnsley Album Launch
(Sunday 25th Nov. 18)
The album launch event
and still "There Is No ALBUM Here", well the cd anyway,
we do have the VINYL. It's been one hell of a screw
up, the artwork is still not correct and guess what
the people producing the album haven't said a dicky
bird, just keep claiming "it's coming next week". An
utter load of crap, in no other industry would this
be acceptable. Anyway back to the positivity, the room
is full, rammed, the best audience we have seen in Barnsley
for a long time, thank God our dear fans (friends) who
have travelled from further afield. Death Of Man open
the gig with their metal madness, thrash influenced,
they are really warming up the crowd. It's light hearted
and fun, Spider drops the odd gag in, they are relaxed
and a pleasure to have onboard, great set lads. Sadly,
Cambodia had to pull out of this gig due to a member
having a serious family illness, luckily Klammer stepped
in to replace. Another excellent performance from our
West Yorkshire buddies, similar set to Friday but who
are we to judge, ha ha. The VINYL is selling a lot better
than we expected and it's System time, we are having
the show recorded and thinking very seriously about
putting it out. The room is buzzing and we can't thank
so many people for coming out on a Sunday tea-time,
the room is electric. We blast thru a mixed set of old
and new stuff, even breaking our rules of not playing
extra to the set list, 2 unrehearsed songs to finish
and we end to a very satisfied Old School House. It's
been a great Album launch (minus the product of course),
great bands, brilliant friends!!!! Great sound n lights;
Marcus. Keep in touch, cd albums will be mailed out
as soon as they are ready, if you need to order please
contact us. Next stop :- Leeds for Oicott's Xmas Do!!!

30th October
2018 - Black Bull, Gateshead (Friday 26th October)
Friday and we are going
to one of our favourite haunts the Black Bull in Gateshead.
The motorway is jam packed, wet, dark, it's a gruelling
drive, but our Hatebus driver (Paddy), is a proper soldier
and never complains once. We arrive late, sound check
immediately, stage sound is great, cutting it fine,
ten minutes before show time. Famous David open up,
recently down to a two piece, it's edge, indie, Punky
noise, nice guitar chords backed firmly with solid drum
beat, it's different in the current scene and fresh,
great vocals, my only complaint, the set wasn't long
enough. Well done lads. System up next and we grace
the brand new stage, nice refirb, it's a very good audience
to say we're up against 3 other events. The venue is
all trimmed up for Halloween and Maz & Shev have made
one hell of a good job. We rip into the longer headline
set and the crowd are lapping it up immediately, Will
Binks is buzzing about, taking fantastic photos, it's
a lovely atmosphere and the people love the fact we
are playing a real mix of early and the latest material.
We finish with "Dogs Of War" just for Steve Stanners,
one of our biggest fans and a good, good bloke. We retire
to the main bar for drinks, pork pies and recuperation.
A brilliant, rocking night, just what the doctor ordered!
We will be back in 2019.
8th October
2018 - Paranoid Visions, Dead Objectives, Brudenell,
Leeds (Friday 28th September)
Friday and it Leeds
with one hell of a line up. Our really good friends
Paranoid Visions are over from Dublin. We are at one
of our favourite venues the Brudenell, it's the small
room and it looks amazing. The Dead Objectives are up
first, our good friend Rat is on bass, we've been trying
to gig together a while and finally we are on the same
bill. They open up and the sound is great, really intense,
edgy, solid political tuneage. A strong set from this
Manc 4 piece and a great reaction from the audience.
System up next, 30 minutes of old classics plus a smattering
of new album stuff, quick changes between songs, a great
set well appreciated. Up last Paranoid Visions, what
a great band and a luxury to see them in England, they
play all their best songs, they've been up since 4am
so it's amazing they are so animated. A fantastic show
and a great evening, what a brillliant line up set up
by Tom Needham, Thanks so much for inviting us !!! Excellent
times !!!

13th September
2018 - Cutlers, Rotherham, Sunday Sermon (September
2nd 2018)
Rotherham again, Sunday
this time, all the windows are still in place. Ann and
Tim have made it from Cambridge and it's great to see
them. It's a very pleasant warm afternoon and Seconds
2 Go open, with a sound of the Buzzcocks / Undertones,
it's good stuff and the audience are very appreciative
of the Sheffield 3 piece. System up at 5pm and its a
set of mainly the "new" album, yes the elusive 2nd album.
'Zealots Path' and 'We Who Walk With God' back in the
set, it's loud as hell and Pat has a brand new (Gibson)
guitar. We even sign a few autographs, life is good!
Just waiting on the blooming album, more news soon.....
Next stop Leeds with Paranoid Visions, see gigs for
ticket link.

7th September
2018 - Rebellion Festival, Blackpool (August 2nd, 3rd,
4th, 5th 2018)
Another fantastic Rebellion
for System Of Hate and we were so proud to be invited
to play the brand new 'Club Casbah Stage'. The audience,
lighting and sound was amazing, the only negative point
was we didn't have the album ready, but the new t-shirt
sold really well and we still sold quite a lot of the
debut album.
"The sun may be
hiding from the beach but the heat inside the Winter
Gardens at times resembles a Grandad's greenhouse as
SYSTEM OF HATE plough through an impressive set at the
brand new Casbah Club." - Vive-Le-Rock Magazine
"Club Casbah is
a rival for the Empress this year with a hall that also
holds around 2000 it is a huge occasion, with System
of Hate looking very much at home in that environment
giving a perfect platform for their larger than life
sound. " -Review by Ten-Midnight.com click

"I headed off To
the dark brooding sounds of System of Hate. The hate
lads pound a punk sound that is deep and dark. What
a surprise when Ratboy gets up on stage and danced along,
complete in tiger outfit. Another bizarre contradiction
in a weekend about to explode with them." - Review
by Hope Collective Ireland click

"We stayed in the
Club Casbah for System Of Hate who claim they play Aphotic
punk and having checked in the dictionary I'll say that's
fair enough as they are 4 very pissed off Yorkshiremen
from the Darkest bowels of Barnsley who play angry street
punk railing against every issue they can. For me the
two songs that stood out most were Sanatoria that is
deeply angry and the bands theme tune System of Hate
that they closed the set with." - Review by Whisperin

"BIG NEWS"
- THE NEW ALBUM HAS BEEN DELAYED, THIS IS BEYOND OUR
CONTROL, WE BELIEVE IT WILL BE READY FOR SEPTEMBER.
THE REASON GIVEN BY THE PRESSING PEOPLE IS "ARTWORK
PROBLEMS". THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING AND WE CAN NOT
APOLOGISE ENOUGH, PLEASE HANG IN THERE!!
Friday 17th August
2018 - Cutlers, Rotherham (the road to Rebellion) -
Friday 20th August
Sorry this is late but
holidays and stuff. It's our last gig before Rebellion,
so it's where we work out the exact setlist for Blackpool.
We set up and progress to sound check, always nail biting
here with this DIY in house PA, but Suty seems to crack
it a lot quicker than normal. The next thing we strike
up the band and are told to turn down immediately, "you
are going to shatter the windows", I kid you not, we
play here regular and this is our usual volume. She
also wants to know who's going to pay for the glass,
it's crazy talk and just makes our band bond tighter.
The Strays walk into this and must have thought these
guys are insane, ha ha, once a few more bodies come
in the sound is fine. The Strays up first, Buxton based
indie punkers, think the Fall, think Sleaford Mods,
clever repetitive lyrics, lots of famous actors name
checked, it's different and it's good, nice lads and
a great set. Also they have a drum machine so Carl is
a happy bunny. System rip straight into it and it's
the songs we've discussed for Rebellion plus other new
stuff off our brand new album. It's a good crowd and
they enjoy every second, it's been warm lately and Carl
is so warm he decided the World needs to see his torso,
no wonder they think the windows are going to fall out,
ha ha. A masterful set and we are ready for the biggest
Punk Festival in the World.
Monday 16th July
2018 - Old School House (6th July) with Danse Society,
System Of Hate & Georgina Gilmartin.
It's Friday and we play
our last hometown gig before the big Rebellion Album
launch. The football is really taking hold due to amazing
results, thank god we have such loyal friends n fans,
to come out tonight. It's a hot one, and we hydrate
as much as poss. It's the Big Barnsley bill tonight;
Georgina Gilmartin, System Of Hate and The (danse) Society.
I'd love to explain the soap opera that is the Danse
Society and the two versions of the band, "it's like
two bald men fighting over a comb" classic quote from
Paul Gilmartin, but I haven't the time, anyway Paul
stood in for Carl after a very bad car accident and
we will always be grateful (also Martin came in the
package but that's a different story). Anyway on with
the evening, Georgina on acoustic guitar, opened up
with a percussionist and she plays a good set of originals,
great voice, very confident and a number of decent songs,
I would like to hear them recorded with a full band,
good stuff. System up next, slightly longer set than
what we've done recently, we add "We Who Walk With God",
"Ill Are The Cursed" and "Shadow Of The Cross", they
sound amazing, really strong songs from the new album.
It's a great set and we are wet with perspiration, time
for a lie down. Next up and due to legal reasons it
"the Society", it's Paul's version of Danse Society,
no keyboard player tonight but they are really on form,
a bucketful of classics and an awesome cover of Bowie's
'Heroes', they play well over a hour and do not disappoint,
an excellent evening. There is talk of System & Society
taking this coupling on the road, watch this space!!
Next gig Rotherham, 20th July, Rebellion Warm Up gig.
Thursday 12th July
2018 - Ratboy's Birthday, Rat InFESTation 2, Reading
(30th June)
Saturday morning and
we head South on the M1 to sunny Reading in the Hate
bus, to play with a fine line up of bands at the Facebar
venue. It's for our dear old friend, Stephen Mark 'Ratboy'
Usher's 50th birthday bash organised by Mr. Jonny Wah-Wah.
After a slight detour we find our hotel, very clean
and comfortable, today it's 30 degrees and luckily the
venue is a ten minute walk away. We load ourselves up
with musical equipment and go in search of the venue,
like 5 packhorses, we arrive at the Facebar, where we
are welcomed by familiar friends. We hit the bar, first
up 'Ratboy's Magic Show', we manage to catch the last
15 minutes, edge of the seat stuff. Next up, Mr. Wah
Wah with his 'On Trial UK', a great powerful set, loads
of energy and good crowd banter. Next up is 'Geezapunk',
and it does just what it says on the tin, it's blokey
and Oi, keeps the day rolling nicely. Next, 'Skaciety',
the brass section brings an up-tempo joy to the audience,
encouraging them to participate in more beer and dance,
a ska-ry fine set lads. Wah Wah hits the stage again,
but on the drumkit this time with his other band, 'The
Deckchairs'. It's a very fast set with the usual sense
of punk humour thrown in, Wah Wah has a look of despair,
as the heat on stage must have increased, another fine
set. It's our turn next, so toilet and bar first, all
set, a fair audience, we strike up with a new song from
the forthcoming Album, ironically called 'System of
Hate'. The sound onstage is great, the audience respond
well, so the new material is doing the job and we're
happy with our set, a good day at the office. Headstone
Horrors up, the second time we've played with them,
a younger and more modern style, decent enough. We decided
to dump our gear back at the digs, while we can still
think and function. Geoffrey Oi!cott next, a great set
of Yorkshire cricket orientated humour from our good
friends, new guitarist now firmly in place, it's tight
and goes down well. Next up, The Kut, rocky young female
musicians with the tightness of a mature band, great
set. It's getting later now and the prosecco has been
opened, the prosecco punks are here. The Ramonas play
a tight fast set, they are really good, they have the
'Ramones' stuff nailed, they have now made the brave
move of introducing their own stuff into the set, good
luck, most would keep on the easy road.
Next, it's the return
of Ratboy's magic caper, only the drunken episode (Help!!!)
he's managed to persuade one of his Rebellion friend's
partners to go into the box, to attempt to saw her in
half, to our concern it's a real saw. After a tense
5 minutes and lots of fake blood, she managed to leave
the box in one piece, Well Done Ratboy. The headliner,
Motorheadache set up their mountain of amps and hit
the stage, the prosecco is freely flowing by this time,
all the usual Motorhead classics are played note for
note perfect, a pleasant ending to a fantastic day.
Thanks for having us, now it's Kebab time.

2018 - Brudenell, Leeds - Spear Of Destiny, Crazy Pink
Revolvers (17th May)
We hit the M1 and head
for Leeds, it's a warm one and the traffic is kind,
we load straight in and wait for the main support to
finish their sound check. Quick sound check and it's
doors open immediately, 15 minutes later and we are
on stage. We start the swirling feedback and blast straight
into 'System Of Hate' and we are playing to a very nice
sized room of people, if the weather wasn't so un-English
we'd have been playing to a few more. We have a limited
part of the stage due to using our own gear, the usual
way when big bands are on tour. We roar thru the set,
only 2 songs from the 1st album, we have made new friends
and one girl collapses at the front with the heat (she
was okay) god knows how Carl is coping, Paddy & Pat
look as red as devils. It's our first ever gig for John
Keenan, such a pleasure, with the calibre of acts he's
attracted to these parts. It's a triumphant gig and
as we pack the gear away, Kirk Brandon is chatting to
us like old friends, makes our day, now for a drink!!!!
Crazy Pink Revolvers on next, it's Stan Stammer's band
from Theatre Of Hate and featuring their drummer, Chris
Bell. It's a two bass guitar thing with a fusion of
reggae, punk and blues. Stan sings and plays, it sounds
great, the place is red hot, almost full as we wait
for the main act.

2018 - Old School House, Barnsley with Klammer (Friday
11th May)
Sorry it's late, first
time in Barnsley for a while, our good friends Klammer
support and the Old Punks of Town are having a get together,
in conjunction with the evening. Klammer are releasing
their brand new single 'Modern God' and System Of Hate
launch 'Unhallowed Sound, the forsaken remixes ep'.
Klammer are amazing and we get chance to for a good
catch up, their set is filled with Post Punk gems, excellent
musicianship and fun. System up and it's an emotional
night, some personal anniversaries, the set is hot,
sweaty, driven and determined. We dedicate 'Unhallowed
Ground' to Jez Saxton who passed away recently. It's
a great night for good music, next stop; Thursday 17th
May, Leeds with Spear Of Destiny.

2018 - Old Turk, Dewsbury with Expelaires (Friday 13th)
It's Friday the 13th
and we are Dewsbury bound, the Hate van is full to the
rafters and we all, are in good spirits. It's diy p.a.
time and the Expelaires are having a good go at getting
her vocal, a bit of head scratching and we're away.
The night opens with a horror theme quiz, there's a
few in. It's been a while since we've done Batley but
a lot of faces we know are in. Expelaires are off with
a great twin guitar sound, Wolfie (Red Lorry, Yellow
Lorry fame) and Gerard (his metal guitar kills people)
riffing away, solid bass and our good mate on the drums
holding it all together, excellent set, well worth the
free entry alone.
System up next and it's
the brooding, dark, heavy groove machine we call Hate,
people have travelled good distances so they get the
full works, "there is no madness here" hits like a jackhammer
to the earholes. "Resurrected" ending the onslaught
to rapturous applause and calls for more. It's been
emotional folks, back to the difficult 2nd Album now,
backing vocals and mixing in a week or so. Suty completed
his vocals (12th April) and Martin completed keyboard
parts (17th April). More info soon !!!! It's punk but
not as we know it :-)
Tuesday 27th March
2018 - York with Anti Nowhere League (Friday 16-03-18)
& Studio News
The weatherman says
it's gonna be bad, snow again but we spit in his face,
ignore his warning and head for York. We arrive a little
late, due to the old 40 miles per hour caper on the
motorway. No sound check but it's not like we don't
know what we are doing. Segregates open up, 30 odd minutes
of Motörhead influence Rock n Roll, nice noise from
the 3 piece and all instruments, finish fully intact
this time. System up next, the set includes the last
4 songs to be recorded for the "new" Album (Paddy has
completed his last bass parts today, so a busy day for
him.) We haven't played in York for quite a while and
it's a brilliant reception, even the Anti Nowhere League
say really nice things about us. Anti Nowhere League
up last and the place is packed, they play a great tight
set, full of classics, new bass and drums since we last
played with them. The merch stall is right by the exit,
so it's a win-win situation, we do a bomb on merch and
again, loads of positive comments. All 3 bands have
a played a song, which is named after their band name
today, when did that last happen I wonder? Special thanks;
Joe for driving, Gail / Joe for merch, Chris Jones for
inviting us and the fibbers people, all the travelling
fans and the newbies, Big Thanks.
by Chris Scales
Pat completed his guitar
parts for the last 4 songs for the "new" album on Wednesday
the 21st March. Martin up next........more news soon.
Sunday 4th March
2018 - Cutlers Arms, Rotherham & Album 2, Studio
News
Well my friends, it's
been a busy week in the System circle. Suty finished
his vocals on the first six songs recorded for "Album
2", on Tuesday. We braved the snow and ice on Thursday
to rehearse and complete the 4 remaining songs for the
Album, plus rehearsed the set. On Friday, we returned
to Doncaster, Axis Studios and laid down the 4 guide
tracks to complete the album. Carl stayed and completed
2 songs, he then returned Monday and completed his parts,
drum wise.
On Sunday we braved
the cold, fog and last remnants of snow to play the
Cutlers in Rotherham. We invited; The Expelaires, a
band we have admired for a while, Leeds based Post Punk,
John Peel sessioners and jolly nice people, to open
up. They play 40 minutes of short, snappy, tunefully
Post Punk, with a smile on their faces, some great guitaring
on display too, great set, good reaction from the crowd!
System Of Hate up next "System Of Hate" making it's
debut, yes we have a song named after us, it goes down
lovely. We play all the 4 of the new album songs, they
all go down amazingly well. We end on "Resurrected",
another song never played live, the whole place is blown
away! We've had people travel from Cambridge and Manchester,
as well as local, I guess we must be doing something
right. A lovely Sunday afternoon, enjoyed by all.
Next gig :- York with
Anti Nowhere league and Segregates, Friday 16th March
19th January 2018
- Spunk Volcano & Friends - Old School House, Barnsley
(13th January 2018)
HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS
!!!! Xmas is a distant dream and Punk Rock and it's
circus rolls into town. Chris (Rum Direction) opens
the evening to almost a full house, he's rude, he's
crude but he's making 'em laugh, 25 minutes of utter
filth, fantastic start! System Of Hate up next, no rehearsal
since mid December due to illness, wow, who would know?
Absolutely on fire and comments of "best performance
ever", repeated round the room, Awesome. Sheffield's
Sons Of El Roacho up next, cracking set of originals
and the odd cover, the room is getting even warmer on
this cold winters evening, brilliant set ended with
a Pistols cover. Spunk up last and he's ready, the lad
is gonna get a sweat on in that there mask, everyone
moves forward and it's a hour of his best material,
which is not wasted on Barnsley and it's many travelling
visitors. It's a wonderful gig and the hard work of
each act, the venue and everyone that has shared and
spread the word, has made it a gig that could be contender
for Old School House, Gig Of The Year.
System continue with
their difficult 2nd album, 6 tracks are part-recorded,
they still need guitar and vocals on and the next 4
songs will hopefully be completely written in full by
mid February. More news soon. Next gig :- Rotherham,
then York with Anti Nowhere League.
Sunday 31st December
2017 - Witchwood, Ashton Under Lyne - Discharge Punk
Overload -, (Saturday 16th December)
A nice 3pm start, we
set off to Ashton Under Lyne for our 1st visit to the
magnificent Witchwood. There's snow over the tops and
it's bleak but that's the way we like it baby, we don't
wanna live forever :-) Wolfbastard are almost ready
as we set the merch up, they growl into action with
a very thrash metal feel, a good crowd and a great opening.
We are straight into action, the opening chords nearly
rips our ear-lugs off, the soundman has accidentally
got the guitar on 11 in the monitors, its soon rectified
and the 747 has safely landed. The crowd are extremely
receptive and make us wonder why we've never played
here before, Karl (Billyclub, Exploited, UK Subs, etc)
is right up front, our mate now, tells everyone how
good we are, it's so nice. We turn in a frantic, end
of term performance, what a gig, see video below, buzzing.
Dogsflesh up next, more thrashy Punk, a solid performance,
tight and again enjoyed by the crowd. Such a decent
turnout for the time of year. Our mates, Billyclub up
next, we love the last album and they play a good handful
of the tracks off 'Generation Time Bomb', good hardcore
punk, a Punk Rock Ambulance maybe required for some
of the mosh pit, as the ale is taking its toll, the
place is rammed now. Extinction Of Mankind next, well
the singer loves us, which is great, these guys are
heavy, heavy, "a perfect storm of metal and punk" as
Ian Glasper puts it. Discharge close the night, a severe
beating to the eardrums from start to finish (just like
the whole event), they are great, again an old band,
NOT going thru the motions, there's a good PUNK fan
base round here, nice people! Many Thanks Jason for
putting us on. An excellent end to System's year!! Roll
on 2018 and the New Album :-)
Friday 15th December
2017 - The Parish, Huddersfield - Abrasive Wheels Half
Dayer (Sunday 10th December)
Well, well, the weather
people said the snow would bring Yorkshire to a halt,
it didn't and over the top to Huddersfield we went.
We arrive and Paul Carter is banging em out, anyone
who knows the scene knows Paul, have acoustic guitar
will travel, he warms the audience for the very shy,
Guttersluts. Been a while since we've seen Bob and the
Boys, a very entertaining set of covers, done with tongue
firmly in cheek, a right mix of old school Punk, good
time show, defrosting this very cold day. Next up PMT,
a Bolton based heavy n hardcorey Punk band, nice surprise
when you see a new band, tight, great guitaring, no
plectrum playing bass and just what the doctor ordered,
loads of energy from the singer, would definitely check
em out again. Hospital Food up next, we've known these
lads for nearly a decade, nice lads and seem to be as
good as we've seen them, maturing with their songwriting
all the time. Good set and one that the crowd really
appreciated. System up next, decent sound on stage and
everyone is settling into the groove, we blast thru
40 minutes of Hate, Shonna the singer from Abrasive
Wheels taking a keen interest, which is nice as some
of the big boys never come and check the support bands
out. Leading nicely to the evenings headliners, the
Abrasive Wheels, they've just been on tour in the U.S.
and look very comfortable on stage, I love this drummer,
Skruff who I know more for playing for Leatherface,
he's a cool customer and makes a solid rhythm with Chris,
our mate Matt Black plays excellent guitar, great licks
and leads and Mr. Shonna owns the stage in his own unique
style, great band, good lads and definitely not just
going thru the motions! Top stuff by all, Well Done
Mick and the Parish Staff, you pulled a great half dayer
off!!! Well Done West Yorkshire, next gig - Ashton Under
Lyne with Discharge, Billy Club and more !!!!!

2017 - Old School House Gig Review, Barnsley (24th November)
It's wet, cold and dark,
yes folks we are back in our hometown of Barnsley. There's
an accident on the M1 so we running behind a bit. The
York trio Segregates open the night, with their Motörhead
influenced Punk Rock, nice energy, good fun, a few broken
strings but the show must go on, great stuff. System
next, and a very excitable Suty throws himself all over
the stage, like a caged panda on speed, the lad will
sleep tonight. Barnsley is introduced to "There Is No
Madness Here" and "Blackfire". A good fight performance,
impeccable sound and lights, next stop Huddersfield
!
We also picked up a
nice Bus Lane fine Xmas Card from Glasgow City Council,
as did the Juratory lads, boo !!!!!!
Also, the brilliant
Martin Aylward of Slim Chance Productions has created
a fantastic video for 'APOSTLE OF PAIN', see below............
Tuesday 28th November
2017 - Very Mini Gateshead / Glasgow Tour (Friday 17th
& 18th November)
The first date of the
extremely mini - mini tour and we hit a packed A1 to
Gateshead, first trip in the new HateBus so at least
we are comfortable. We make good time at the Black Bull
and Chaos 8 are sound-checking as we arrive, sounds
beefy as hell. We soundcheck next and all it good. Crime
Desk next and then they open, nice punchy songs, tight
3 piece from Fife, there's a definite Stranglers influence
with some Clash and a touch of Rockabilly, good stuff.
Next up Chaos 8, massive ear bashing onslaught from
the Sunderland 5 piece, it's full on driven Killingjokey
influence noise, real intensity and a great set, enjoyed
that. Last up System and we play outa our skins, what
has gone before push our performance to the limit, we
debut, brand new songs, "There Is No Madness here" and
"Blackfire", great crowd reactions. It's a great night,
great people, we love this place, we will be back.
Tour Day 2 and we are
Scotland, Ivory Blacks, Glasgow bound! Well the scenery
alone makes this trip worthwhile, from Carlisle to Scotland
is so beautiful. We make great time again and it's a
good drive, the venue sign is obscured by scaffolding,
so a couple loops of Glasgow centre, til we spot a guy
unloading band gear, slot in behind him and drop the
gear off. Our good pal Stoney (Juratory) turns up and
we arrange to take our sleeping bags etc, back to the
digs. Back at the venue and we settle down to some heavy
punk rock and Guinness. We watch a day of brilliant
bands; Subvision, Zero Hour, Us Vs. Them, we hit the
stage at 7pm, Potential Victims, Juratory, Constant
Fear and A.O.A. Not one bad band, loads of dark energy
in the room, touches of Killing Joke, a mighty fine
day and one we won't forget. A kebab from the first
ever Kebab shop in Glasgow.
The hospitality has
been amazing, big special Thanks to Roddy and the good
people of Glasgow! We will be back, love the vibe here,
merch does very well. We rise early and are away for
9am, ice on the windscreen of the HateBus, we leave
a sleeping Glasgow to the Sun on the mountains, such
beauty, it's been an amazing trip ! Next stop : Barnsley
:-)
Tuesday 7th November
2017 - 100 CLUB - London with Dirtbox Disco & Healthy
Junkies (28th October)
Saturday and we are
up at 7am, on into Barnsley for 9am, train to Meadowhall
next, megabus comes at 10-05am, London bound by 10-30.
We all sit apart, so not so fun but it's a good journey
and we are in our Pimlico digs by 3pm. A quick change
and we hit the 100 Club for sound check at 5pm. It's
amazing to see Spunk and the boys (a massive thanks
for all the gear share, really kind of these lads),
Healthy Junkies too (thanks for drum bits :-)). John
King the author of 'Football Factory" gives us a hug.
Tom '16 Guns' is here along with loads more mates, it's
a great turn out, we play a blinder (see the evidence
below, YouTube). The 100 Club is rammed with photographs
of legendary bands that have played here, amazing to
see, we feel so privileged to join them. Louis Armstrong,
Rolling Stones, Metallica and The Sleaford Mods, to
name a few. The Healthy Junkies play a great show, great
bunch of songs, nice people too. It certainly is a Dirtbox
day, a great set and lovely fellows, the success certainly
hasn't gone to their heads, perfect end to an amazing
day!!!! Special thanks to Human Punk Promotions; Andy,
Mark & John!!!!! Taxi back to Pimlico and the journey
through a beautiful London, all lit up, sends us off
to dreamland. Next stop :- Gateshead / Glasgow !!!
Tuesday 31st October
2017 - Wakefield with Theatre Of Hate / Nosebleed (Friday
20th October)
Warehouse 23, well,
what an amazing night!!! Around 12 months ago we supported
Spear Of Destiny in this very venue and here we are
again with Kirk Brandon and his other band, Theatre
Of Hate. It's a great venue, with lovely dressing rooms
and backstage facilities. Nosebleed, who played with
us a while back in Derby, open up, wow, these lads have
energy, think of the Hives but they definitely have
their own style, great set and so much music fitted
into 30 minutes. We hit the stage and the sound is perfect,
makes us relax and pull out a top performance. We get
some lovely comments, including Kirk. Next up the fantastic
Theatre Of Hate, the drummer holds it all together,
tribal extraordinaire, bass constant and sax dipping
in and out, with Kirk's fabulous vocals, soaring above
the rhythmic slabs of song. Not one guitar solo, not
required, great set and an unforgettable night. Next
stop, that there London !!!!
Thursday 7th September
2017 - Cutlers, Rotherham (Sunday 3rd September)
Summer is over or so
it seems and System return to business. Rotherham Cutlers
a lovely place for a drink on a Sunday afternoon. Our
good friend Martin Aylward brings his mates from Leeds,
the Xlerators, post punk covers band to open the afternoon.
Nice choice of mostly obscure cover songs, played well
and with conviction, great set lads. There is a couple
(Tim & Ana - see pic below, Tim kissing his System badge)
who have traveled up from Cambridge just so see us,
wow, and 2 of the Mau Maus (Sheffield cult punk band
from the 80s) are fans of System too. We present Minx,
our main Rebellion merch lady, with flowers, chocolates
and alcohol, for all her help, a few tears. System blast
into life, its been a month since this beast has been
out to play and the dust is well and truly shaken off.
"In The Shadow Of The Cross" makes it's debut, another
cracking song from the forthcoming album. A fantastic
afternoons turnout for a Sunday, great crowd, great
people, 3 more gigs booked in for next year! Next gig:
20th October with Theatre Of Hate, Wakefield.
Saturday 12th August
2017 - Rebellion Festival 2017 - Saturday, Casbah Stage
(5th August)
Our 5th consecutive
Rebellion Festival (we have to pinch ourselves sometimes)
and our first Saturday, the breakfast shift as we've
coined it, we hit the stage at 12.30pm sharp. The sun
is shining and the seagulls have made a hasty retreat,
as the soundcheck blows away the cobwebs, literally.
One massive advantage of being the first band, no quick
turn around and we get to play 2 songs to get the sound
perfect, and it is. We've been watching bands on this
stage all festival and we can't wait to get on. The
doors open at noon and people are trickling in, faces
we know and loads of new ones. We dedicate our performance
to our good friend "Stefan Bielecki", who sadly passed
away in January, his 2 daughters; Krys and Ruth are
here at stage side and it's an emotional time, Stefan
has always been a regular at Rebellion and a massive
supporter of System. Miss him so much. It's filling
up nicely now, the audience are loving it!! There's
people dancing, grooving, guys taking their shirts off,
it's a lovely party atmosphere, ha ha, despite the dark
subject matter. Charlie Harper plus loads more from
the band World. We end on "Unhallowed Ground", to rapturous
applause and surprise, surprise we have extra time "Wanna
Be Your Dog" finishes off one of our best ever performances.
We'd like to Thank; Minx, Gail and Vicky on the Merchandise,
the new t shirt has sold out completely on the bigger
sizes and all the cd singles. Big,big thanks to Daz,
Jennie, Jonny, all the Casbah Stage and the whole Rebellion
Team / Family, fantastic Festival once again. Everyone
who flyered and those who told someone else about us,
"without you, we are nothing" !!!!! Love and best wishes
System Of Hate.
Saturday 29th July
2017 - Paddy's Extremely Secret Birthday / Rebellion
Warm Up Gig (21st July 2017)
Paddy's extremely secret
birthday bash / Rebellion warm up gig, went without
an itch. It had been kept secret for quite a while,
a dream line up for any local music fan, and enjoyed
by all who attended. Steve Stanners sprung yet another
surprise on us, superfan no.1 without doubt. People
had traveled from all over the shop, a massive turn
out. Peter 'Pitman Poet' Goodwin opened the evening,
wise and funny commentary on local life, stuff that
meant something to us little Northerners, very funny
and beautifully delivered. Next up and newly reformed,
Brainbomb, Andy had been ill and had more or less given
up but after Pat explained how important it was they
were on the bill, he had a change of heart. A fantastic
set, he really had the crowd in the palm of his hand,
brilliant gig and so glad they are back. System up next
and the room is rammed, brand new song to open "Your
God Is Dead", the sound and lights are perfect, the
set is slick and professional, a birthday cake is brought
out just before "Unhallowed Ground", another surprise
for the big lad, the crowd sing "Happy Birthday", it's
great and a set we will never forget. Sons Of El Roacho
headline and round off a perfect night, they present
Paddy with a picture of their debut album in a frame,
very nice touch. It's been one hell of a night, the
owner of the Old School House is blown away by the quality
of acts and the atmosphere. The sound has been brilliant,
thank you everyone who showed up. Next up :- Rebellion
!!!
Tuesday
11th July 2017 - System Of Hate, Boredom, Black Eddy,
Weld, SCared - Blackpool (7th July 2017)
A fantastic trip to
the Waterloo Music Bar in Blackpool, wow what a venue
and to be attached to the famous Waterloo Bowling Green,
gives it a nice edge. We travel straight from work,
so the M62 is busy as hell, we arrive, to see a group
of Hells Angels outside, mingled in with Punks, this
is gonna be good. SCared are on stage as we arrive,
nice melodic Punk, clear vocal and nice guitar licks,
great start to the evening. We find the promoter Darran,
he shows us to our room and we spruce ourselves up,
beer fridge too, oh yes! Meanwhile, Chris and Sandra
Scales arrive, they've surprised us again, last time
Gateshead and talking about Gateshead, Steve Stanners
has driven 3.5 hours to see us, each way folks, super
fan or what? Weld up next, Punk noise from Teeside,
solid heavy attack, bit of metal/alt rock in there,
good strong set. Local lads up next; Black Eddy, dark
alternative rock, they rock it up, bit of faith No More
and the singer don't give a damn, more metal in the
mix, really warming the place up, good set lads. Next,
Boredom from Blackburn, old school Punks, nice lads
too, 2 guitar attack, good songs and well done, another
good set. System, up next and it's after 11pm and boy
are we ready, the dry ice is dispensed, the opening
riff of "Tears Of Blood" rises up and it's a rollercoaster
of Dark riffy punkage, heavy thuddy bass, intelligent
drumming and a fantastic voice that breaks thru the
chaos and terror that is System Of Hate. Straight into
"Sanatoria" and it's no letting up, it's red hot on
stage and the sound is amazing, god the soundman has
worked is arse off tonight, 5 bands, well done mate.
We end on "Unhallowed Ground", and it's been a stormer,
a total success, well done all involved, especially
the bands, Darran and Ian. We hang around, accepting
the compliments, the Guinness and Cider flowing, a great
nite, thanks everyone for coming...............Saturday
morning and Ian said he'd sort out a go on the Waterloo
Bowling Green and as promised we all play crown green
bowling in perfect sunshine. We then find a breakfast
place, a stones thrown from The Royal Oak, a former
drinking hole of Sir Lemmy from his Rockin' Vickers
days, a nice end to the weekend.....................Blackpool
we salute you, will be back very soon x

2017, Billyclub / System Of Hate, Barnsley (9th May
- Old School House)
A nice return to our
hometown of Barnsley at the fantastic Old School Venue.
Our friends Billyclub headline and regretfully Segregates
pull out at the last minute. System open with a 45 minute
set, it's warm on stage and it's as well, as the band
as played this year. Great set, great crowd reaction.
Billyclub up and it's a fast, furious hardcore affair,
great songs and no letting up. They end with a great
cover of 999's Homicide at super fast speed. It's good
to play in Barnsley again, great sound and a great crowd!!
Next stop, Blackpool !!

Tuesday, May 30th
2017 - DUBLIN, Fibber Magees (Saturday 27th May 2017)
An amazing night in
Dublin with Paranoid Visions, Audiable Joes & Katie
O'neill !!!! And an unexpected headline slot for System
Of Hate :-)
Peter jones (Paranoid
Visions) wrote : "Terrific night in Fibbers last night.
I wasn't expecting a huge crowd given that the Skids
played the night before and Hugh Cornwell was on at
the same time... plus poxy Slane... but the venue was
packed and well up for it. Katie O'Neill started off...
very strongly, given only 5 rehearsals with her band...
great songs, lovely singer and a very confident performance.
This lady is really going places I reckon so I'm delighted
to have had her on some of my bills! Audible Joe's up
next, first time seeing them and they are superb. Tight,
tuneful, visual and with cracking tunes. Remind me of
Anti Flag on a good day.... We played next and I reckon
it was one of our better gigs. All gigs over the past
while have had the perfect balance of tightness, rapidity
and song mix and last night was a good example! Three
new songs in the set from the upcoming Rebellion ep
and all went well! I love System of Hate.... they remind
me of 1919 verses Killing Joke verses Bauhaus. As Deko
said last night, they are a classic example of what
was briefly referred to in the press as "positive punk".
They were marvellous! Existing crowd was loving them
and then the guns and wankers fans arrived, and they
loved them too! All in all a fantastic night with good
people and good bands!"
............
We can't Thank Peter
and the Paranoid Visions enough, for being such lovely
hosts and being kind enough to supply good gear for
us to use, it was a great get away for us Yorkshire
lads and we should return next year..........Thank You
Dublin !!
Monday 22nd May 2017
- Nepotism Fest Leeds (Friday12th to Sunday 14th May
2017)
We had a lovely time
at the Temple Of Boom venue, Leeds, to play on the last
day of the 1st ever Nepotism Festival, a real friendly
DIY event. We get a nice evening slot and play a passionate,
30 minute set, we play very well and the set is dedicated
to Paddy's Mum, who sadly passed away on Friday (12th
May). We get a lovely reception from the crowd and everything
about this event is extremely positive, Well Done Lee
and Co., you've pulled off a great event. (see full
list of bands below)

- Cutlers Arms UK SUBS Half-Day (Sunday 23rd April)
A lovely afternoon and
evening in Rotherham at the Cutlers, UK Subs half dayer,
yes System Of Hate's first ever outside gig. There's
a great mix of bands including; the X-Rippers, Septic
Psychos, Sons Of El Roacho, Bones Park Rider, Black
Market Clash, Thurminators, Shambollix, Phil Murray
& The Boys From Bury, System Of Hate & UK Subs. The
time keeping has gone wildly astray, we are running
late but that's the Live arena. We play out of our skins,
we get lovely compliments from the Subs. It's been a
long day and some punters are a bit worse for wear,
come the finale, the UK Subs play a blinder and everyone
comes alive. Steve (new guitar player) is firmly into
the role now and they are excellent, a new chapter.
A great day and a great catch up with so many friends.
Punktastic !!

2017 - Black Bull, Gateshead (Fri 31st March) / Hairy
Dog, Derby (2nd April)
Straight outa work and
we are on route to Gateshead, it's a lovely sunny evening
and traffic is good. We arrive at the Bull to a very
warm welcome, we are the only band tonight, so we put
4 extra songs in the set. It's a great turn out to be
honest, as we are against the Rezillos, who are also
in town. We open with the reworked "Tears Of Blood",
then "Ill Are The Cursed" brand new, most people in
the room have the album so once we hit "Sanatoria",
people are singing along. Lots of smiling faces including
the band, it's hot on stage and the sound is great!
"Hell Shall Reign" makes its first appearance and we
are on fire. Great evening and great crowd, love this
venue!! Beer time now, well earned, great support from
our friends in Geordie land!!!
Sunday and we are Derby
bound for our first trip and it's the Hairy Dog. It's
sunny again and we arrive early, no sound check but
it's not like we don't know the songs. It's a healthy
turn out for a Sunday afternoon show. Nosebleed from
Leeds open and wow does this 3 piece wake the crowd
up with their slick "Hives" style Punking around, rolling
on the floor, great fun n a good set, well done! We
are the middle band and it's a slick 30 Minute set,
it's seems impossible to get a decent set outta half
a hour, now we've got some quality songs. A great end
to the Weekend and we enjoy the Bar-Stool Preachers,
the Brighton based Ska / Oi punker, first time we've
seen em and wow what a fantastic set of lads, brilliant
set, class act, watch out for these lads. Great afternoon
of bands, good old Derby!

2017 - Stefan Bielecki's Celebration
Our dear friend Stefan
passed away on the 23rd January 2017, we felt it very
important as a band that we all attended the Celebration
of his Life at the Hereford Crematorium. It was very
moving and uplifting because there was no sadness, and
his kids; Pete, Krysia and Ruth retold stories from
the past, of happy and funny times. We traveled down
and returned in one day, due to work commitments, but
for Stafan it was worth it. His family told us we meant
a lot to him and one of our t shirts went with him on
his final journey.
Monday 6th February
2017 - Cutlers, Rotherham Sunday 5th Feb, 3pm
A fantastic Sunday afternoon
at the Cutlers Arms, Rotherham, mild weather for this
time of year, real ale and great company, what's not
to like. John Chels opens with his Cockney Doglady project,
it's different that's for sure, similar to his solo
project but a lot more colourful and an extra member
playing a bongo drum. It's like some trip on LSD but
very entertaining as per most things John does, his
enthusiasm knows no bounds, well done son. System up
next, 3 people have come over from Manchester just to
see us, which is lovely, it's a very good turn out.
All the set is dedicated to our friend Stefan Bielecki,
who has sadly, just passed away, a massive supporter
of S.O.H. The set is slick, tight, full of fun (I kid
you not), brutal and sincere. A fantastic return to
Rotherham, we have dear friends here and their support
is amazing. We will be back, RIP Stefan x
Saturday 28th January
2017 - 1st Gig Of 2017 - Spunk & El Roacho - Barnsley
(21st January)
First gig of the year
for System at the newly branded Old School House Venue
(nee Barnsley Rock & Blues Club, nee nee Polish Club),
an it's rammed to the rafters. Barnsley FC v Leeds Utd
on the Large screen beforehand, and a great win for
the Reds, makes for a great atmosphere in the venue.
Sons Of El Roacho hit the stage, loads of colour and
clout, Big Pat and the boys entertaining as hell, Rock-a-billy
Punk, big double bass, the crowd are lapping it up,
class act, great lads, poor Dave the Leeds fan. System
next up and the atmosphere takes a darker turn, brand
new song "We Who Walk With God", makes it's debut and
goes down very well. A very tight heavy set to a very
receptive audience, great stuff. Spunk Volcano and The
Eruptions headline the show, the place is heaving now,
loads of new songs, loads of banter back and forth with
the crowd. He's a great showman and it's a great set,
what a fantastic nite, with such a mix of styles & genres.
Credit to all involved. Next gig - Rotherham - Sunday
5th February, 3pm start.

2016 - Last Gig Of 2016 - Barnsley Rock n Blues (25th
November)
Well folks last home
town gig of 2016 and it's been one hell of a year. Debut
Album completed, Rebellion full room gig, few problems
but we are still alive and very much kicking anything
that tries to beat us down. I don't usually write anything
negative but tonight's audience is made up of 80% non-Barnsley
folk, that's a shame but one couple (Mel & Gerry) have
traveled over 3 hours from Heacham (the land you can
see when you look seaward off Skegness beach). Anyway
back to the business at hand, Rum Direction (Chris Heald)
opens proceedings with his Punk Smut Acoustic X-Rated
sing along, showing off his new Spunk Volcano tattoo,
he's pushing the boundaries of decency and goes down
quite well, good start. Next up, Doncaster's Inequality
Street playing old school punk, nice full sound and
cracking set, good rapport with crowd, great stuff.
System Of Hate up last and wow, Insanity back in the
set, what an opener, we blast thru the set, quick slick
changes, Marcus tremendous engineering as usual but
has upped his game, as the best sound engineer in Yorkshire
is in the building 'John Turner'. The feedback is great
and we can't thank people enough who come out everytime,
your support is massive. Merry Xmas all, the album is
now available all over the web, in HMV, get it, if you
haven't got it. Best Wishes - System Of Hate.............see
ya soon!!!!

2016 - Gateshead Mayhem (11th Nov)
A wonderful nite was
had by all at the Black Bull, Gateshead. We traveled
up just before 5pm and hit the venue round 7pm, Guinness
straight in hand and a bit of footy on tv, we then set
up and sound check really quickly, we feel so at home
here. Prisoners Of War open the evening and bash out
a great raucous noise, old school punk and they make
some new friends here in Geordie-land, with a cracking
set. Chris and Sandra Scales have come all the way from
Rotherham just to see System, that is very humbling
and we're gonna show our gratitude by playing outta
our skins. We have some good mates here now and we owe
em a great show, so now with Pat with pedals, we zoom
thru a fantastic set, all members on fire, couple of
songs for encore. What a night and we retire to the
bar and drink it away, can't remember going to bed,
but remember putting my ear plugs in(Shaun 'Paddy' O'Neill,
you need to see a Doctor about your snoring son ;-)).
What a great nite out !!!!!!
Thursday 27th October
2016 - REBELLION HERE WE COME - 2017 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday 18th October
2016 - Mulberry Tavern, Sheffield (Friday 14th October)
A fantastic night in
the Steel City, last Friday. We arrive in good time,
sound check takes a little longer than normal as the
normal guy is away but we get there and it sounds great.
First up, Hull's Left Ahead blast through a shambolic
Fall-style indie driven noise, mash up, not to everyone's
taste but a great start to the evening. Next up, Prisoners
Of War from East Midlands, a bit of the old school head
down, no messing Punk Rock, we have shared a bill previous
in Mansfield and it good stuff. We rage thru the System
set, mainly the album, we are on fire, tight as, we've
had a good night out and a good laugh. Great night,
thanks to all involved in making it happen. Next stop:
Gateshead, support comes from Prisoners Of War.
Monday 3rd October
2016 - Old Turk, Dewsbury (Friday 30th) & Cutlers,
Rotherham (Sunday 2nd October)
We played our debut
gig at the Old Turk, Dewsbury on Friday with Johnny
Half-A-Day supporting. Real Ale pubs and Punk seem to
go so well together (see Sunday, Cutlers.) Johnny opens
up and gets a great reaction from the crowd, a right
mixed bag of material, great start to the evening. System
up next and the place is filling up nice, some friendly
faces in and a few newbies. We kick off a stonewall
of a set, no let ups, all power. It's a another great
gig and more albums are sold, we are invited back, just
need to sort a date. Thanks for your support! Next stop
Rotherham.
Rotherham, Sunday and
a 3pm start, weather is amazing and our mates Bones
Park Rider are guesting today. Ian beck has also come
down as well to take some photos (see below), fantastic.
Bones Park Rider used to have a Clash-vibe/77 Punk feel
but in my humble opinion, since Mick has joined on vocals
it's taken a darker path, defo a Misfits vibe going
on and I like it, fantastic set full of energy, tight
as hell too. It's a fantastic turn out for a Sunday
and Rotherham never lets us down, we have friends here
now and each time a few new faces come along, after
Thursday's rehearsal, Friday's gig, today we are on
fire, we don't even have to look at each other, 'Rotherham
you have been Systemised'. Thanks for your support this
Weekend folks!!! Next stop: Sheffield, see ya down the
Mulberry Tavern.
Wednesday 21st September
2016 - Spear Of Destiny support - Wakefield - 18th
September 2016
Fantastic night at the
Warehouse 23 supporting Kirk Brandon's Spear Of Destiny.
We hadn't played in Wakefield for quite awhile, so could
not wait to get back there. Slightly earlier start with
it being a Sunday (7.45pm stage time for us) but a decent
amount of people in the venue for a Sunday and a nice
warm reception. We blasted thru a 45 minute set and
then relaxed back and watched a superb Spear Of Destiny.
Last day of their tour so they were red hot tight, brilliant
gig, well organised and a pleasure to play. Cheers to
Harry on sound, excellent work, plus big Thanks to Bryn
and Staff for running it like clockwork and being made
so welcome by Kirk and the lads. Next stop:- Rotherham,
Sunday 2nd October.

Rebellion Festival
2016 - Blackpool, Winter Gardens - 4th - 7th August
2016
Wow, what
a fantastic Rebellion Festival, System Of Hate had the
time of their lives. A very full Pavilion, filled with
very appreciative people, what's not to like. We had
our best year by far in performance and merchandise
terms, thanks so much Stefan & Mandy (Minx) for
running the merch, we love you both. Special thanks
to Jennie & Daz and all the Rebellion Team, this
year was certainly special, big thanks to Walnut &
Pedro and the Pavilion Stage team for helping us sound
and look amazing. Cheers for all the people who support
us; year in, year out and the newbies, keep spreading
the word people, thanks a million !!!!
"Next
up we head to the Pavilion for the first time to catch
Northern post punks System Of Hate, a band who impressed
me greatly with their recently released ‘Unhallowed
Ground’ album. They seem to have impressed a fair few
others too as the place is packed long before their
countdown intro tape builds the atmosphere and temperature
to boiling point as opener ‘Sanatoria’ does it’s best
to rob me of whatever hearing I have left after The
Dwarves. It’s ‘Crucified’ where the band really shines
though, or is that flash of white light from singer
Suty’s studded gauntlets catching the follow spot? A
fine performance from a band fast moving up the Rebellion
bill." - Review by Uber Rock - click

2016 - Last Gig Before Rebellion - Barnsley Rock 'n
Blues Club 8th July 2016
Sorry the news is late,
back at the Barnsley Rock n' Blues Club (nee Polish
Club) with our good friends Brainbomb and the very entertaining
Johnny Half-A-Day. Last gig before Rebellion and a decent
turn out, all the acts are brilliant and the crowd appreciate
all their efforts. First home-town gig for System without
keyboards and it worked, yes we had some Spinal Tap
(Backdrop falling down etc) moments tonight, but thinking
back now I am laughing to myself. We are the System
and we are United! Thanks for coming down everyone,
much appreciated! Next stop: Blackpool Winter Gardens,
includung Martin Roberts as special guest on keyboards,
we play Thursday 4th August at 7.25pm, Pavilion Stage
- tickets available from

Friday 10th June
2016 - Gateshead , The Black Bull, (Friday 10th June)
A well overdue return
to the stage for System and to Gateshead. God we love
this venue; lovely people, lovely place and always a
great gig. A nice 2 hour drive and we set our gear straight
up, sounds fantastic, we play a couple of songs and
then settle down for a few drinks. Juratory turn up
not long after and quickly sound check. First game of
the Euros and a decent turn out, we have a nice little
fan base here plus some new faces. Juratory hit the
stage at 9-15pm, Stoney of Keyside Strike fame is the
frontman, it's heavy, grinding, drum machined noise
chaos, there's a Ministry vibe in there and they do
a great version of "Tortured And Abused", by Antisect,
nice stuff. System up next, first gig in a while due
to some personal problems within the ranks, but the
lads stick together and it's time to get heavy. It warm
on that there stage but the songs are rattled off, most
of the new album, "Parasites In Paradise" back in and
a revised version of "The Dogs Of War", especially for
Big Steve Stanner's slightly overdue Birthday. It's
a very welcome return to action and the North East,
a good nite of album sales and a re-booking to sort.
Thanks to everyone who came out and a big thanks to
Maz & Shev at the Black Bull, see you all soon.
6th March 2016
- Skegness Weekender - Leather, Docs & Candyfloss
(25th/26th/27th March 2016)
We had an absolute ball
at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Skegness, Thanks so
much to Dave Taylor & Lee Evans for booking us to
play. 3 days of brilliant bands, the odd pull out and
many bands playing with a missing member, just goes
to show anything is possible. Thanks to everyone who
watched us and bought albums.
Gig review by Lee
Evans, Saturday
March 26th
"Section 5 and
Geoffrey Oi!cott had to pull out due to illness and
family problems so after an early panic we ploughed
on with the bands who made it. First up SENILE DELINQUENTS
opened with a top notch set of classic punk and oi tunes
much fun and haggling ensued of the Skegness lads. A
re jiggled DISCHORD turned out a set of lovely noise.
Another great young band on the way up. FIGHTBACK gave
us a set of hard punk rock with charismatic frontman
Tony on fine form. Last minute additions THE FEATHERZ
added a bit of glam to proceedings a band who play hard
and delivered the goods with a great set. DOGTOWN REBELS
then proceed to give us 50 minutes of classic tuneful
punk rock and go down a storm. Young upstarts B MOVIE
BRITZ have some great tunes and much gusto and noise
ensues. Andy does a Sterling job filling in on vocals
and another great set whistled by. FUKDUST 4 played
as a 3 piece and fired out some great singalong punk
rock. Another band who play with heart and soul. The
SENILE DELINQUENTS then jumped up and filled in for
a missing band and turned out a completely different
set of punk classics to tide the audience over. Much
respect to Dave Taylor and the delinquents for their
efforts and we were rewarded with some classic singalongs.
Next up SYSTEM OF HATE turned out a set of dark deep
heavy tunes. Great live band and what a noise. Top vocals.
Great lads. Due to section 5 not able to play Andy Demob
offered to play an extend set. DEMOB you were bloody
awesome an hour and a quarter and about 25 songs later
after a top set of classic tunes they came off stage
knackered. Top band on fire at the minute. Then the
mighty CHRON GEN. these lads were the sound of my teens
so great to see them again after many years. With Kevin
of anti pasti helping out on drums last minute they
played 45 minutes of tight melodic lovely punk rock.
As Kevin helped out last minute they hadn't had time
to learn a full hour set so like true legends they played
most of there set again. Bloody brilliant. Got to sing
outlaw twice. Great end to a difficult and frustrating
day due to the 2 unfortunate pull outs. But as in true
punk rock spirit people and bands pulled together and
a great night was had."

March 2016 - Unhallowed Ground Unleashed and Album Launch
Gig (27th February 2016)
Well, well, well, the
album is finally upon us and to say it's been a roller-coaster
ride, is an absolute understatement. It has nearly killed
us and with that statement I am not being over dramatic,
we've been like 5 expectant fathers waiting for this
baby to come out and Thank God, it's finally seen the
light of day. The album came at the last minute but
once here in our hands, we knew the waiting was worth
every second. The packaging is equal to the music, it's
looks the business and now it's time to let it go out
into the World. Big Thanks to Paul Kelly at Retro for
sorting all the Duplication and the setting up relating
to the Album, Steve Mitchell for sorting the concept
of the cover and back, Rory Garforth for the photographs,
which look absolutely magnificent and everyone who's
given us a gig, been to a gig, bought a t shirt / ep,
you have paid towards this, Thanks so much.
We have to massively
Thank Matt Eliss, for his expertise on the recording
and his production is out of this World. Loads more
to Thank, but you can read their names on the Album
Thanks List.
Anyway about the Launch
Night, Saturday 27th February at the Barnsley Rock &
Blues Club (nee Polish Club). Johnny Half-A-Day opens
the evening, he bangs through his Das Abyss acoustic
set and really warms the crowd up, a good sized audience
too, John never fails to entertain. Tony 'Pitman Poet'
Goodwin up next, yes this is a Punk gig, so we have
a poet on the bill, Tony storms thru his set of home-grown
Love & Loss style poetry, another great performance
and he's really warmed the people up. Next up, Leeds
based Klammer, fresh from their UK support of Ritchie
Ramone, of course they are tight, it's post punk and
they are a class act, great songs, great set and lovely
people, they really embrace the event and we will definitely
play together again.
Well, System Of Hate
up last and emotions are running high, we have to try
and follow Klammer, and it's Martin's last gig, we rip
into Sanatoria and wow, to say it's the first gig of
the year, we are on fire. We blast thru 80 per cent
of the Album and the crowd are really behind us (our
biggest Barnsley audience yet), there's a lot of believers
and converts in the audience and we can't Thank them
enough for carrying us through, we end with a couple
of covers and the brand new 'Rising' song. What a night,
it's taken me days to come down and I'm now buzzing
off the comments coming in about the Album, we knew
it was good, but always nice to hear what the people
say. Get one now while you still can. Email :- six67promo@hotmail.com
or contact Pat Crawford via facebook (if you have it).
Next GIG :- SKEGNESS.
23rd
January 2016 - KEYBOARD
PLAYER WANTED !!!!!!!!!!!
Martin
Roberts has left SYSTEM OF HATE. Martin played with
the band from October 2013 to December 2015, he played
on the "Insanity ep" and the "Unhallowed Ground" album,
we wish him well, with all his future projects.
So, we are looking for a Replacement KEYBOARD Player,
who is possibly influenced by KILLING JOKE, GARY NUMAN,
MINISTRY, Metal, Industrial and of course PUNK, an open
mind is essential, we are based in Barnsley, anyone
interested contact Pat Crawford (O777 307 67 11) with
any questions.
We are just about to release our debut "Unhallowed Ground"
ALBUM and are already booked for the REBELLION PUNK
FESTIVAL 2016, at Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
Tuesday 29th December
2015 - Leeds Xmas Punk Gig - Brudenell (19th December)
A bit late on this update,
it is a busy time of year after all. Anyhow we set off
for Leeds at the invitation of our good friends, Geoffey
Oi!cott to play the Leeds Xmas Punk Bash 2015, one hell
of a line up to boot. As we are travelling thru the
Xmas traffic, we learn the first two bands have pulled
out, so on the plus side, a sound check and no rushed
changed over, every cloud people. We set up and get
plenty of time to catch up with half the Angelic Upstarts
in the bar, Neil and Gaz, lovely fellows, while the
other 2 have gone to Bradford for an authentic curry
experience, with our good friend John Bolloten. We kick
off the set and it's a good crowd for the 1st band of
the day, we play a great set and heads are nodding and
feet are tapping, always a good sign. It's great sound
on stage and we end with Anti Pasti's "No Government",
we mention the closing of Kellingley Colliery (the last
deep coal mine in Britain) and dedicate the song, great
end of year gig for System, loved every second. Note
to self: order more merch!
Next up, Epic Problem,
Street Punks featuring ex-Blitz guitarist, Mackie, they
have had some problems on their European Tour, so basically,
jumped out of the van, plugged in and played. Loads
of energy and drive and get a great reception.
Oi!cott next, it's their
party and they are up for it, the crowd are well and
truly warmed up and it's a cracking set, well organised
lads.
Our good friends, Dirtbox
Disco next, and they've had one hell of a Year, another
one for em, they work hard and it's paid off, classic
set and likeable chaps, people are bouncing off the
walls, so nice to be part of this event.
A blast from the past,
Chron Gen the penultimate band of the day, and a nice
addition to the line-up to give the punters something
else from the world of Punk, a great set and much appreciated.
Now the main attraction,
our pals, the brilliant Angelic Upstarts, with their
new album "Bullingdon Bastards" to flog and a rejuvenated
line-up, they are on it. What an end to a fantastic
day, The Upstarts have a bagfull of classic songs and
parade em all out in style, the audience sing every
word and Mensi has em in the palm of his hand, 3 good
covers as well, not even needed but show what a great
band he has behind him.
Brilliant day !!! Merry
Xmas !!!!!!!! Fantastic venue as seen on Emmerdale recently
too and great friendly folk, Well Done all involved
!!!
Monday 30th November
2015 - Rotherham Gig Cutlers Arms (29th November)
Back to Rotherham on
the continued 'Don't Mention The Album' tour, and the
weather is bad, Thank God we have such loyal support
here. 3pm and the gig opens up with Sheffield's Seconds
To Go, a newish band, it's Pop Punk with influence coming
from bands such as; The Undertones & The Buzzcocks,
a nice mix of covers and originals, well written songs
and they go down very well. Tony Goodwin aka The Pitman
Poet, is next and he revs up the crowd, while Seconds
To Go pack down, he knocks out 20 minutes of quality
poetry, it's well worth checking out, click
here to find his cd - POEMS OF LOVE & LOSS - www.pitmanpoet.co.uk,
Tony his also compere and does a fantastic job, always
good to see him. System of Hate up last, it's a packed
room and so glad the weather hasn't deterred anyone,
some new faces too and people have come from Sheffield
just to see us. We play 8 tracks from "the album" and
end with an encore of 2 covers, another great gig. Next
Gig : Doncaster on Friday 11th December 2015, 1st and
only Doncaster Gig of 2015.
Friday 20th of November
2015 - ALBUM Title and COVER revealed !!!!
Monday 16th of November
- Spunk Volcano & The Eruptions , Barnsley - Friday
the 13th November 2015
Fantastic turn out
for Friday the 13th in the Barnsley Rock & Blues Club,
4 acts, so no time to hang about. First up, Johnny Half
A Day from the Doncaster punk band Das Abyss, playing
acoustic, all originals tonight, good set and he gets
a nice warm reception. Next up, The Sons Of El Roacho,
our good friends from Sheffield / Chesterfield, a brilliant
rock-a-billy act with a touch of Punk in there, 30 minutes
of pure joy, the crowd love them, nice mix or covers
and originals. System next, to darken the mood and it's
a blast through 8 of the 10 songs from "the album",
only time constraints stop them playing the lot, another
great gig. Spunk Volcano & The Eruptions up last, Spunk
far more well known for being in Dirtbox Disco, but
this is a good band and in my opinion very relevant.
Since their last visit, they have a number of heavier
songs in the set which we haven't heard before and they
are brilliant. They play a slick, tight set with loads
of banter from the crowd and Spunk bats them back with
style. Great set and always nice to see them in Barnsley.
Thank You everyone for coming, Cheers to the Venue,
Marcus great sound and lights and all the staff! Next
gig :- Sunday 29th of November - Rotherham with Seconds
To Go........see you soon.

Thursday 12th November
2015 - Evil Blizzard at Trades, Hebden Bridge (Wednesday
11/11/15)
The "Don't Mention
The Album Tour" continues on into Hebden Bridge, at
the Trades Club and we support our mates, Evil Blizzard.
Nathan Sykes is driving us again and now turns out he's
a top notch Merch man too, THANKS so much mate. It's
not a bad drive, we avoid the M62 like a curse, so travel
through the most picturesque landscape around, it's
just a shame it's dark so early. As we arrive Blizzard
are sound checking and it's a lovely rustic venue, real
ale, lovely friendly family style welcome. We sound
check, a few technical difficulties push us to the time
limit, but ten out of ten to the soundman for patience
and calm, sorts us out a great sound, brilliant mate.
Beer time and the calm before the storm is Punk Poet,
Keiron Higgins, a local lad with lots of vitriol and
venom, great stuff and he gets a warm reception from
the crowd. System up next, and it's straight into 'Sanatoria'
and the crowd are in our face, almost on our feet, it's
great and they are lapping it up, we are actually selling
stuff before we take to the stage. We play our 30 minutes
to a packed room and end with 'Unhallowed Ground' to
a rapturous applause, wow, what a fantastic gig. Evil
Blizzard up next and we spend a bit of time at the fire
door with them, as they wait to make their big entrance,
lovely lads, no evil at all. They rush the stage and
the place goes crazy, people on tables, standing on
chairs, the bar area is empty, it sounds fantastic.
They even out PIL Public Image Limited on one song,
it's dirty, dark and groovy, everything we wanted. A
fantastic set, as they end on 'Watching', a big fellow
joins them on stage, hockey masked, hoodied up, menacing,
yes you guessed it, it's 'Shaun Paddy O'Neill', he's
enjoying himself and the boy will sleep tonight. The
Blizzard lads hand their bass guitars out into the audience,
it's organised chaos, even Pat jumps up on stage and
takes over on Paddy's bass, it's a wonderful end to
an amazing show. What a gem this venue is, it's been
a pleasure to play, Thanks; Ben for inviting us along,
Brian Featherstone helped negotiate the support slot,
cheers Bri. Cheers again; to the Soundman, brilliant
job, the venue, bar-staff and everyone who's purchased
merchandise, thanks a million. Next gig :- Friday the
13th Spunk Volcano (Of Dirtbox Disco) comes to town,
The Sons Of El Roacho, Johnny Half-A-Day, be frightened,
be very frightened!

member in their band, nice chaps and good music. Our
mates, Septic Psychos play a great energetic set of
brand new stuff and Hung Like Hanratty bring the chaos
and fill the stage with fans, great to see. Tenplusone
all the way from South Wales bring a more modern punk
mix to the party, another good set. Headsticks calm
it down a bit, more a Levellers come Spear Of Destiny
feel and it's time for us to get ready. System up, for
their first gig in these parts and it's a good reaction
from the crowd, we blast straight through and again
no sound check but who'd know, we have a great on stage
sound and play very well, it's nice to see the SUBs
watching us, means a lot. Thanks a lot to Al, Lee and
Jayne for inviting us to play and the soundman really
looked after us, said he enjoyed it too which always
helps. Pack down time and then to watch the Subs, pure
joy for us boys. It's been a long day but a great day,
the bar prices are realistic too, Thanks for all the
positive comments and everyone who bought merch, we
will be back. Next gig - Evil Blizzard, Wednesday 11th
November - Hebden Bridge.

2015 - TV Smith & The Bored Teenagers - Leeds (Wednesday
4th Nov)
A very good turn out
in Leeds for a foggy Wednesday night, good friend of
the band, Nathan Sykes picks us all up and drives us
through to The Library Venue in Leeds, cheers so much
Big Lad. It's a nice atmosphere and we relax waiting
for Suzy and Los Quattro to open proceedings. They've
flown in from Barcelona today and hit the stage running,
it's Pop Punk, nice tunes and sung with passion, great
set and goes down very well. System up next and it's
line-check only tonight due to time constraints, we
blast through 35 minutes worth of Dark Punk and again
get a nice warm reception. TV Smith and the Bored Teenagers
up last, it's a set of classic Adverts songs, Tim ain't
no spring chicken but he's really going for it, it's
full on, no gaps between songs, bang, bang, bang, the
audience are lapping it up. He encores with some solo
material and it goes down just as well. It's been a
great evening, to say we've been up against the Killing
Joke and Hugh Cornwall gigs, it's been well attended.
Good sound and nice people, great to catch up with friends.
Next Gig :- Saturday at the Mansfield Punk Weekend,
UK Subs headline, see you there!

2015 - Geoffrey Oi!cott Comes to Tarn & The start of
the "Don't Mention The Album Tour"
A wonderful mixed bag
of Punk Rock at the Barnsley Rock & Blues Club last
Friday evening (30th October). Das Abyss opened the
innings with a revitalised Johnny Half-A-Day, now main
vocals, a chap from Tickhill on bass and young Barnsley
lad on drums. They are tighter and sharper that previously
seen and pull out a great performance, surely, time
to record lads! The raffle prize tonight is again provided
by Nathan Sykes, a good friend to System Of Hate and
the winner is a guy from Ripon, worth the trip after
all. System up next and straight into madness, with
"Sanatoria, Sanatoria, Sanatoria", full steam ahead
and a nice tribute to Tony Van Frater from the boys
and a version of "Wanna Be Your Dog" by Iggy, to end
a fantastic set. It's lovely to see Geoffrey Oi!cott
in Barnsley at long last, brand new line-up, new drummer
and they are bashing out the hits. It's a great set
and nice for the Punks of this Parish to see another
kind of Punk, Rebellion favourites in our own backyard,
excellent. A great night of music and friendship, great
work from Marcus the Soundman, the Rock & Blues Club
staff and everyone who made the effort to support this
event, thanks so much. Next gig :- Leeds with TV Smith
playing the Adverts (Wednesday 4th November) see you
down the front !!!

and we are so pleased with the results, in fact we can't
wait to get it out. More news soon.
Sunday
11th October 2015 - "We Shall Overcome" Sunday
4th October - Barnsley
It was an absolute privilege
to be part of the WE SHALL OVERCOME Protest Weekend
at the Barnsley Rock & Blues Club. Special Thanks
to Jason White from Alternative Barnsley for inviting
us to play. The Sunday started at 1-30pm, an extra stage
had been built in a room that is never opened on normal
gig days, mainly for Poetry & Acoustic Acts. The
first act we catch is the charismatic Mark Jackson with
'His Criminal Waste Of Talent' (featuring our very good
friend Dollar Dalton on guitar), a good set and great
reception. The place is full of folk and catching up
is lovely, we get the gear in and then settle to watch
Two Car Family, a cracking band from Leeds and it's
line check time. System up at 4-30pm and it's a 30 minute
set, we start with Crucified for a change and are playing
to mostly people we have never seen before. It's going
well and as the day is about Protest and Rebellion,
Paddy belts out two blinding rants, one about the injustice
of Miners receiving compensation for wrongful arrests
during the Strike and not one police office being dealt
with over it (see the video below). The event is to
raise money for Barnsley foodbanks and the second rant
is about Cameron being so rich he could actually take
food for granted and use it for non-eating purposes,
I think you know the story. We end with 'No Government',
a brilliant reaction and we're so proud to support this
event. It's drinks time, then straight into watch, our
mate the Pitman Poet, refreshing rants and anti-government
rhetoric, nightclubs, workingmen's club and so much
more, excellent. Louise Distras sadly had to pull out
due to illness so long time friend, Jethro Platts fills
the slot, again poetry/ranting, bit more laid back in
style and very heartfelt, all relevant to the day, great
stuff, a must see. Next up and we have members of Chumbawamba
in the house, Interrobang!? hit the stage, imagine Sleaford
Mods in a band guise and I reckon they would sound like
this, ranting, shouting stuff, the order of the day,
good tight band, again from Leeds and it's great they
came here. The Hurriers play a blinder and we knew they
would, this is their hometown and they care so much
about trying to stop the rot in this country, Tony Wright
(singer) had a lot to do with organising this Weekend
and it's gone so well. There was a few more acts which
I'm sorry to say I didn't catch, but how could they
fail. Well Done all involved and the Barnsley Rock &
Blues Club came up trumps, Marcus, sounds and lights
once again fantastic !!!!!! See you next year.

SUNDAY (4TH OCTOBER)

July 2015 - Rebellion Warm
Up Gigs (Barnsley 25/7/15 & Rotherham 26/7/15)
Rebellion Warm-Up Weekend
and System Play their only Barnsley Headline gig this
Year, with good friends; Brainbomb and The Kingcrows
on Friday 24th July. It's a fantastic turn-out and Brainbomb
open proceedings, a 4 piece tonight but it's still good
and Andy Blower is on great bantering form, he has the
audience laughing and loving every second of the show,
great gig. Kingcrows up next and another Rebellion band,
it's a great sleazy punk n roll show, you know the songs
and these lads work hard, their album 'Funland' is out
soon and should sell well, great set and again banter
aplenty. At this point I would like to say a massive
thanks to Nathan Sykes for providing the Raffle Prize,
as so many bands know these lovely acts of kindness
really help bands survive and keep us afloat, cheers
Big Man. So, System up last and it's warm, we bang thru
our as yet unreleased"album" set, few birthdays
in the room, Paddy, Kim & Helen, there's a kind
of party atmosphere despite the dark vibes coming from
the stage. Quite a few new faces and it's good to see
it busy, we end with Iggy's "Wanna Be Your Dog",
Lee Terry joins us a stage, drummer from Kingcrows and
why no he's covered for us before and a great friend.
Brilliant sound & lights from Marcus, the Club looks
after us again, cheers. So part 1 accomplished, Barnsley
warmed up, next stop Rotherham Sunday 26th July.
A very rainy Rotherham
and we arrive just after 1pm, plenty of time for a 3pm
start. It's a DIY p-a, and all adds to the fun, Amanda's
Blinds have provided the Raffle Prize today, so grateful
to Daz and Minx, cheers guys. So our good friend, John
"Half A Day" Chels from Das Abyss opens the
gig, Acoustically on a nice Gretch 6 string. He's good
and it's a fantastic set of originals and covers, even
our Good friend Kelvin Shambollic gets up and does a
nice, "Hurry Up Harry" cover with him, great
banter with the crowd, John rides the wave, excellent
set son! It's almost 4pm and as per usual people roll
into the venue at the last minute and it's packed, we
love this venue and the Rotherham folk, same set as
Friday and it's going down a storm. We end with a stage
invasion full of reprobates to sing along to "Wanna
Be Your Dog", Andy Morton, Kelvin, John Chels,
Pitman Poet, Minx, Chris Scales, Bri Feather, plus a
few folk I've never seen before. We throw "No Government"
in and these people are the same as us, they get the
sentiment. A brilliant final gig before Rebellion, cheers
Mick Hill and all at Cutlers, we are well and truly
warmed up for Blackpool, see ya a week on Thursday,
6-20pm in the Arena !!!!!!!! Please spread the word,
cheers.
Thursday 9th
July 2015 - Membranes Vs
Evil Blizzard - Brudenell, Leeds (4th July)
If this was the last
gig you ever attended in your life, you would die very
happy. John Robb is already talking about it, in seismic
proportions, "One day someone will write about
this gig, in a few years time it will turn up in some
book," I have to agree, on my bucket list, I had
down to play a gig with Evil Blizzard, ever since Paddy
put me onto them, we've been trying to get them to Barnsley,
logistically it's not worked out yet, so when we got
offered this one, it was like a gift from God. The Membranes
being on the bill also, what a fantastic bonus with
John Robb being a supporter of ours, a punk friend and
a super genuine guy. Being in an Evil Blizzard sound
check, with the guys not in costume, is even better,
still sounds great too. Anyway, Super Luxury open proceedings,
young local lads, banging out shouty noise in a rocky
style, sounds great and they set the mood for the evening,
heavy pounding slabs of riff-age, excellent lads. System
up next, we open with Rogue Apostle and it's a good
receptive audience, it's a warm day so we had to drag
people out of the sun, in to the Darkness, which we
do, it goes down well and it's nice to see members of
Evil Blizzard and The Membranes in the audience, another
Big Step in the Life of System. Evil Blizzard up next
and the room is rammed, a lot of tickets have been sold
tonight, like our friend Andy Morten says, "If
you have a soul, you must see this band", he's
right of course, absolutely sublime, Paddy is even presented
with a Blizzard Bass Guitar at the end of the set, to
jam along to the chaos, utterly brilliant. The Membranes
end the evening and they're gonna struggle to follow
"the last Days of Pompeii Blizzard performance",
but guess what, The Membranes bring along a modern Membranes
sound, it's post punk and it's edgy, it's hard to dislike
John Robb, he's so positive and enthusiastic. The music
is great and a lot of people aren't going to get it
in one listen, it's different to the older Membranes
stuff, but they still perform some older numbers, the
new stuff is excellent and times have moves on, so why
wouldn't it. Excellent and still relevant !! A brilliant
event, Well Done Brudenell !! Special Thanks to Andy
Morten (28 years since he last saw the Membranes) and
Greg Bartle for driving the band to Leeds, also Brian
for all his help, and all the people who travelled over,
especially the Scales & Roebuck Clans. Still Buzzing
now.......Thursday 9th July, Paddy returns to the studio
for his bass parts.

June 2015 - Gateshead Revisited
(Friday 12th June)
A fantastic return trip
to the Doll at The Black Bull, Gateshead. We arrived
just after 6, dropped the gear, ordered a pint and relaxed
'til sound check. We've smuggled some pork pies over
the boarder and washed em down with some lovely beer.
We sound check 3 songs and all sounds great, the roof
top beer garden is open and Mr. Neil Newton (Angelic
Upstarts / Crashed Out) joins us, good lad that Neil.
Fat Albert up first and these lads are great, nice rocky
version of punk, great set and I'm sure we'll do something
with em again. 10 o'clock and it's stage time, a decent
crowd has assembled and we have a dancer, one guy moshing
up and down side to side, who says you can't dance to
System. We play well, straight from one to the next,
we have added "Dogs Of War", for brand new
Grandad, Steve Stanners and a very special, "I'm
An Upstart", just for Neil Newton. It's a great
night and the merch now needs replenishing. We love
this venue and will be back soon, with maybe a Scotland
trip tagged to it.
**** BIG STUDIO ANNOUNCEMENT
COMING VERY SOON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ****
Tuesday 2nd
June 2015 - Vibrators/Lurkers/SVATE
Warehouse 23 Gig (Sunday 31st May)
We arrive at the Warehouse
23, Wakefield very early, no one else turns up for a
sound check so we get a nice little extra warm up. Spunk
Volcano and his Eruptions turn up next and we have a
good chin-wag and catch up before stage time. 4-45pm
and we kick into Rogue Apostle which starts off another
re-jigged set list, yes you lucky people, you get something
different each time. The on stage sound is great and
we play a great set to a very receptive, decent audience,
the merchandise sells well too, Well Done Brian.
Spunk Volcano and the
Eruptions up next, people move a little closer and it's
a great set from the masked hero and his boys. The Lurkers
3rd, and it's business as usual, the sound is great
and they are rocking the place, Arthur even mentions
our good mate, Pete 'Manic Esso' Haynes, who was their
original drummer. It another great received set and
I think some people are shocked by the amount of folks
in here for a Sunday. Vibrators up last, and we've been
chatting to Darrell Bath (Vibrators Guitar ex UK Subs
/ Dogs D'amour) about his time with the Subs and Pete
Honkamaki (Bass) who has played with em too, Pat even
changed a string for Darrell when he busts one about
2 songs in, they dedicate "Troops Of Tomorrow"
to System Of Hate, a great set from em and Eddie on
Drums is still on the money. Brilliant day all round,
we've had a good drink, a good catch up with friends
and played in a Great Venue. Special thanks to everyone
involved; sound, doors, bar staff, promoters, Excellent.
Next Gig :- Gateshead, Friday 12th June 2015.
Wednesday 20th
May 2015 - Dirtbox Disco
Barnsley Gig (Friday 15th May)
System Of Hate played
their 1st Barnsley gig of 2015 and it's not a bad line-up;
Dirtbox Disco and New Party Army. The Polish Club is
packed and it's a great atmosphere, New Party Army open
the night with Dave Pearsall (Cry Lead Singer and Barnsley
Live Festival Guru), a laptop full of magic, a bass
guitar and the truth. It's an Industrial Rock Punky
sound scape, it's not to everyone's taste but it's different
and inventive, and the CD he his promoting is great,
good set and a brilliant debut performance. System Of
Hate up next and it's a brand new set from their last
performance in Town, the set is powered through and
a lovely reaction from the audience, most of the stuff
played will appear of the "album", recording
starts next month. See below "Antichrist",
the last song written, only 2 weeks old.
So wipe away the gloom
and doom, it's Dirtbox Time. Wow, the lads and back
for a second go in Barnsley, new material in the set,
new faces in the audience and it's a slick fast set,
the lads are on it. They are promoting their 4th album
"In It For The Money", lots of the classics
are played and 4 from the latter mentioned CD, the room
is jumping and very satisfied. It's been a total success
and Punk is Alive and well in Barnsley once again. Thanks
So Much to all the bands, the Polish, Marcus on Sound/Lights,
Brian Featherstone - System Management and as always
everyone who made it down, especially the travellers!!!!
Next Gig :- Sunday 31st May, Wakefield with Vibrators,
Lurkers, Spunk Volcano & The Eruption, Doors 4pm
- System on 1st - Spread The Word !!!!!!!!!!!
Saturday 25th
March 2015 - Carl's Back
& The UK SUBS - Sheffield (22-04-2015)
We are back into the
live arena after a short lay off, due to Carl's shoulder
operation. He's back and fit and banging them like a
good-un. It's Sheffield and our first trip to the Corporation
with our good friends; the UK Subs and The F*uckwits.
Being a Wednesday night gig, it's an early start and
a rush but we make sound check just it time, 7-45pm
stage time. We blast through the set and it's nice to
be back in the saddle, we get a great reaction, now
time for a beer. We decide on a set of stuff we have
never recorded, a fact that didn't go unnoticed by one
Mr. Charlie Harper, "It just gets better",
he says. F*ckwits up next and it's a good tight set,
the lads have got a 'Clash' vibe going on and perform
an excellent gig. UK Subs up last and to say it's the
first gig of their tour and I believe they haven't rehearsed,
you wouldn't know, they bash from one to the next, everyone
of 'em playing out of their skins. It's good to catch
up with them and they always take time to talk and a
special thanks to all the F*ckwits for sharing their
gear and looking after us. Great, great night !!!! Next
gig :- Friday 15th May - Dirtbox Disco in Barnsley.
Tuesday 10th
March 2015 - Batley with
Dirtbox Disco (06-03-2015)
An absolutely cracking
night for the opening of Punk In Batley 2015. We had
a part in the promotion for this one, getting Dirtbox
Disco to headline the night, Das Abyss our friends from
Doncaster open the night. Das open and with a couple
of members walking out recently, John did not want to
let anyone down, he gets his pal in on bass and battles
on, sounds good to me and they pull it off. Next up
System, now talking about line-up changed, Carl has
had a shoulder operation recently, so Lee 'Ratbag' Terry
from The Kingcrows is standing in tonight. It's a set
full of everything we have recorded, so Lee could pick
the songs up easier, plus a couple of covers and 2 brand
new ones, the lad does brilliant and we can't thank
him enough, excellent. The set ends with "Unhallowed
Ground" and a lot of people are asking about this
song, we promise we will record it as soon as we can.
Dirtbox up last, and the lads have been in make-up and
look great, Danny Fingers back in the fold and they
sound great. It's a greatest hits package tonight as
they do when they play a brand new area, it's very slick
and the lads are on fire. They win the crowd over and
the people want them back! A fantastic evening of PUNK,
3 versions but it's all punk and the punters have been
serviced! Next gig :- UK SUBS, Sheffield, Tickets available
from System, only a tenna.

February 2015 - Black Bull
at Gateshead with Media Whores (31-01-2015)
We hit the North, bound
for Geordieland. We make great time, pass the Angel
Of The North and get to the bar for around 2pm, a good
few rounds of Guinness and John Smiths, then it's time
for the sound check.
We meet the Media Whores
who have travelled down from Scotland (Edinburgh via
Falkirk) and they are nice people, really looking forward
to seeing them play. It's a lovely compact venue, great
sound and we can't wait to get on. The Black Bull has
filled up very nicely, we have some good friends in
the audience, who we've met on our travels plus new
faces, we have yet to convert. Martin starts the intro
tape and we blast into 'Insanity', the crowd are lapping
it up and we are amongst friends now, the new songs
are going down very well and we end on a blistering
version of "Unhallowed Ground". An orderly
queue has formed at the Merch-desk and it's selling
like hot cakes, the Insanity CD has totally sold out,
2 CDs and a T Shirt for a tenna is a massive hit. Thank
You for your support.
The Media Whores up
next and they play their own brand of post punk, it's
intelligent, political stuff, well played and well written,
they've even brought along their own Burlesque dancer
for one song, great stuff lads, great set. The Media
Whores are travelling back for the Old Firm Derby tomorrow,
we stay over, it's a great set up and we've been looked
after brilliant, we will be back. Special Thanks to
Maz & Shez for putting us on, putting us up. Next
Gig :- Batley with Dirtbox Disco on Friday 6th March
- if you need a ticket give us a shout, cheers !
Monday 26th
January 2015 - Sheffield
(23.01.15) and Rotherham (25.01.15) Gigs in 1 Weekend
Sunday (25.01.15) and
we return to the Cutlers Arms in Rotherham, 3pm kick
off and we love this boozer, 2 sets today, nothing like
making it easy for yourselves. At half past 2 the pub
is empty, it's looking bleak, then all of a sudden they
start trickling in, by 3-15pm the pub is full. First
set is all the songs we have played many times, and
we execute them to perfection (if I say so myself),
time for a quick break, few beers and then back up.
The second set is filled with what we think is going
on "the album", now some of these have never
been played live but no one can tell! We carry on the
good work, it's been a triumphant success and the crowd
have really enjoyed it! It's been one hell of a weekend,
roll on the next - Gateshead, next Saturday (31.01.15),
yes folks we head up North, the Black Bull playing with
The Media Whores. Spread the word !!!!
No Maggie Thatcher & No Government. Photo by Minx
Our debut gig in Sheffield
at the Mulberry Tavern, on a rainy Friday (23.01.15)
in January, it's a bugger to find and the traffic is
bad, we arrive a little late. We've missed sound check
but that can't be helped. Our Doncaster mates Nexus
Noise are up first, sounding brilliant, mainly covers
but some really nice originals in there, there's a strong
influence of Dr. Feelgood but it's not harming anything,
great set lads. System up next and it's a good solid
crowd, we got mates from Doncaster in there and some
old friends from Sheffield, the sound is tip top and
a it's great set, with a fantastic crowd reaction, a
brilliant debut in the Steel City, we will be back!
'77 up last, the local boys, this is a full covers set
and they make a superb crowd, very happy. It's been
a very well organised night, they are trying to do something
good here, great promoter, soundman & bar staff.
Right, time to get all the gear back up the stairs and
get back to Systemland. Great night out !

December 2014 - Spunk
Volcano Came to Town (Saturday 6th December 2014)
The Annual Barnsley
Punk Xmas Bash at the Barnsley Polish Club (voted Barnsley
Venue of the Year by fans of Barnsley Live) was a roaring
success. Das Abyss opened proceeding, fresh from their
own Doncaster Xmas Bash the night before and god had
it made a difference, they were tighter than we've ever
seen them and totally enjoying themselves, great set
and good people. The Sons Of El Roacho up next and we've
known these lads a while and they are good friends and
a brilliant band, we never tire of seeing them, a real
pleasure to have them on the bill, great set of punk-a-billy,
brilliant. System up next and Martin begins the set
with a lovely piece of music, then it's bang, bang,
bang and straight into a brand new song, "Rogue
Apostle", the crowd like it and then it's straight
through, slick changes, great ending to the year. 'No
Government' (Anti Pasti cover) concluded the set with
an appearance by the man in the Thatcher mask, great
tight set. The headliners up next 'Spunk Volcano &
The Eruptions', you've got 3 members from the fantastic
Dirtbox Disco plus 2 other great musicians, it can only
lead to a fantastic set of Spunk songs, the crowd all
move forward and are loving every minute. A cracking
set seems to be over all too quickly, always a good
sign, it's been a belter of a night and Spunk wants
to come back next year, WATCH THIS SPACE!
It's been a great year
and this caps it off very nicely, thanks for all who
attended, everyone who has bought merch and raffle tickets,
we can't thank you enough. Special thanks to all the
bands, Steve 'Dollar' Dalton for compere duties, Bri
Feath (Everything), Sam - stage duties, Marcus (Soundman
of the Year), Jeff and all the other great helpful people
at the Polish Club, All the Barnsley Punks, friends
and travelling Punk people, can't thank you enough,
cheers for the support, "without you we are nothing"..............................
Merry Christmas and a prosperous New YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

December 2014 - Rebellion
Confirmation & Leeds with XSLF & Oi!cotts
SYSTEM OF HATE have
been confirmed for Rebellion 2015 - end of message...................
We haven't played in
Leeds since 28th June 2013, so it's nice to be back.
What a wonderful place the Wharf Chambers is to play,
an old pork-pie factory and such a relaxed place. Geoffrey
Oi!cott are sound checking as we arrive and have it
nailed very quickly, we sound check and then it's relax
time, til we play at around 8-30. The place starts filling
up nicely and it's great to see some familiar faces,
we kick off and the sound on stage is great and the
faces in the crowd tell us it's good their side too,
a great friendly Leeds welcome and I really want to
play here again.
2 great photos
by John Bolloten (many thanks John)
Oi!cott up next and
they have a new guitar player and it's nice to see them
so close, you appreciate that they can actually play
and are not just a novelty act, a couple of nice covers
thrown in too, good set lads. Next up and the main attraction,
XSLF (2 ex members of the Stiff Little Fingers, Henry
Cluney and Jim Reilly), the room is now full, they play
all the classics, and whatever you think, the audience
are bouncing around the room, there are some great songs,
no doubt. "Alternative Ulster", is sang as
"Alternative Yorkshire", and the crowd go
wild, it's a nice touch from Henry. A great night, and
nice to finally gig with Geoffey Oi!cott. Special thanks
to Tom for putting us on, the soundman (sorry didn't
catch your name) great sound, the whole vibe of the
venue is amazing.
Live footage
of 'Ashes Of Divinity' by our good friend - Steve Iles
(Thanks Steve)
Monday 17th Nov 2014 - UK SUBS (Wakefield)
& Rotherham Cutlers Arms
Friday night and we
return to the Hop in Wakefield, it's been quite a while,
January to be precise but we love this venue and we
love the UK SUBS. Great to meet up with the Subs not
seen them since Rebellion, we arrive as they are sound
checking, such a privilege to witness, as they play
some new songs from the forthcoming "Yellow Leader"
album. We load our gear on stage and sound check "Apostle
13", Bleed load their gear on and that little stage
is brimming over, all done, 1st band 8-20pm.
The venue is filling
up, we see faces we know from Barnsley, Batley, Doncaster,
Wakefield, Leeds and there's even some who have crossed
the Yorkshire boarder, it is the Subs afterall. Bleed
blast into their heavy punk, plenty of noise and power
all rolled into one driven machine, it's a good set
and goes down well. System up next, the on stage sound
is great and by the reaction of the crowd the sound
coming through the PA speakers must be decent too. The
room is packed and we can see, a sea of heads bobbing
up and down to the Dark Punk Groove, we end on "Infected"
for a change due to time constraints. Great gig and
thanks everyone for kind words and for buying our stuff
at the Merchandise desk.
Subs up next, and the
room is sardine packed, the most people I've seen in
the Hop, I think they open with "Suicidal Girl",
and then it's into the collection of classics, they
are on fire and Jet, Jamie, Alvin and Charlie blow the
roof off the place, great night, roll on the next gig
with the Subs. Special Thanks to the Hop also for a
great, well run night and good sound, cheers !!!
Sunday and we are Rotherham
bound, the Cutlers Arms, 2nd visit and a lovely return
to this earthy real ale pub, with all it's original
glass in the windows quite a sight to see. It's a 3pm
start so we don't know what to expect numbers wise,
as time ticks by people slowly trickle in to create
a decent sized audience. Das Abyss our good friends
from Doncaster hit the stage and play their version
of punk, it's noisy, loud and with Kevin riffing his
head off, it all adds up to a nice 'straight to the
point' punk rock set. System next and it's straight
to business, "if we ain't tight today folks we
ain't never going to be", the rehersals and the
gigs payoff, we are on fire, 4 songs return to the set
list from fridays cut down one, a great gig and lovely
to see a crowd invation on 'I Want to Be Your Dog' and
'No Government', thanks again Rotherham !!! You made
it a fantastic afternoon!
Next gig :- Leeds with
XSLF and Geoffrey Oi!cott, Friday 28th November 2014
(See Gigs)
Wednesday 5th Nov
2014 (Bonny Neet) - Polish Club - Barnsley (Fri 31st
October 2014)
A slight change to the
Halloween gig billed due to a last minute pull-out of
Lizzy and the Banshees, because of a family bereavement.
So it's was back to System and Brainbomb, we tried to
get a third band but it was too short notice. Steve
'Dollar' Dalton comes in as compere and helps make it
a great night. Brainbomb play a great set, with a lovely
mix of originals and covers. System are fantastic and
Marcus goes to town on the lights as well as giving
a great sound. A few new faces tonight see a System
Of Hate on fire, and hear the brand new "Apostle
13" song, a sign of brilliant things to come.

Next gig:- UK Subs at
the Hop, Wakefield.
We now have patches
for sale £1.50 posted out to you, you can paypal
if you like, contact us for details.
Friday 24th October
2014 - Polish Club - Barnsley (Sunday 19th October 2014)
Back at The Polish for
our Sunday afternoon punk gigs slot, we tried to mix
it up a bit by inviting another Rebellion band, but
alas The F*ckwitts pulled out with illness, so very
good friends Brainbomb fill the gap. A slightly quieter
than normal affair, I guess so much else going on over
the weekend doesn't help, but 2 bands gave their absolute.
Brainbomb kick off
and there's a least 2 new original songs in their set,
and they're 'good uns', Andy Blower can certainly write
a decent ditty, no doubt. System up at six o'clock sharp
and they blast out the set list from the last gig but
in reverse order, wow it's powerful, strong, driving
and pounding along like a steamroller with a headache.
Great stuff !!!
Thanks for all your
support, especially people travelling again, means the
world, next gig : Halloween !!
Wednesday 8th October
2014 - Batley Gig With Peter & TTTBs (Friday 3rd
October 2014)
A year to the day since
we last play at Brooklands, Batley with Peter &
The Test Tube Babies and it's great to see the lads
again. Yes we like these lads and the venue, always
a good punk turn out in Batley too. 'Vomit' have called
in sick, so we are down as the only support band, we
can set our gear up and leave it set up, time to relax.
There's a lot of System t-shirts in the audience tonight
and it's great to see people have traveled from Rotherham
and Doncaster just to listen to us. We blast through
a revised set to suit a total punk audience and get
a great reception, the special CD and T-Shirt deal is
still selling well (see SHOP PAGE for details). Pat
and Paddy do a quick chaotic interview with Del Test-tube
for his radio show, the language barrier is definitely
causing a problem, can't wait to hear this one, link
coming soon. Peter &The Lads play a classic Test
Tubes set of songs, brilliant! Early finish due to the
place turning in to a disco and we're home just before
12, another great night !!!!!
24th September 2014
- Launch Gig for Insanity Industrial Remix CD - Barnsley
Polish (21st September 2014)
A lovely autumnal afternoon
at the Polish Club in Barnsley, four acts and free entry,
what else do you want? Steve 'Dollar' Dalton opens proceedings,
'Dollar is Criminally Insane' is his stage moniker and
he's doing Spoken Word, he does about 25 minutes of
Punk Poetry, the audience listen, laugh and cry with
some of these stories, but it's a great act and Steve
is confident and delivers his words, very well. He has
a CD on sale 'An Ill Favoured Thing e.p.', which is
also very good.
Next up Doncaster's
'Das Abyss', a mixed age band from the very very young
to the very very old (only kidding guys), Punk with
a constant soloing guitar thru the tracks, it's different
and we like that, no formula, if it sticks -it sticks,
their enthusiasm is contagious, come on guys lets have
a recording out soon, great set, great people.
'Brainbomb' up next,
we know these lads very well and it's a great set, as
printed here before, the originals are great as well
as the covers, extremely entertaining and the audience
love it. Our friend Stefan, who we met at Rebellion
this year, has traveled up especially from the South
to see System play, it's a lovely surprise he sees 'System
Of Hate' play a blinder! The set starts with 'Lyndon
Scarfe's' remix of 'Infected' being blasted out over
the PA and then the lads rip straight into 'Insanity',
lovely, 'Halos Of Deception' is back in the set and
the brand new 'Sanatoria' ends the set to gasps of brilliance
(if I say so myself). The audience is graced with members
of the Abrasive Wheels, Shambolix and the Servers, probably
more. The pub runs out of BEER, always a good sign,
with absolutely no thoughts of doing an encore, System
bend to pressure and bang out 'No Government', a total
success of an event, a great crowd, great sound, great
company, love it!
It is also the first
outing for our brand new stage banner and bass drum
skin, special thanks to the guru - Brian Featherstone,
looks magnificent,. Thank You for all your continued
support!!!!!!!! Next Gig - Batley with Peter and The
Test-Tube Babies - 3rd of October, we have tickets for
sale, shout if you want one - see you down the front

Sunday 3rd
August 2014 - Hallcross Doncaster - 26th July Gig
Doncaster, the location
of our first ever gig, the Hallcross, we enter to a
heroes welcome, to a night billed as Punk Armageddon,
3 bands - Inequality Street, Das Abyss & System.
It's a beautiful warm evening, as we step out of the
vehicle it feels like Spain, going to be hot one.
Inequality Street up
first, 3 piece punk rock, old school, there's a good
crowd in and they are really receptive to the lads,
a slower GBH style, the singer is a dead ringer for
Boggy from 3CR, (you can't win em all), it's a decent
set, I'm sure we'll see these guy again. Das Abyss,
next up, we played with these guys at Rotherham recently,
now they are on their own turf, good energy, not sure
how to describe them but they are definitely doing their
own thing, the singer puts the work in and steps into
the crowd, as does the lead guitar player, great set
well received by the audience, we like this band.
Last but not least,
System and it's now ten o'clock and a little bit cooler
but you wouldn't know, back to a 13 song set, banging
straight through, beginning to see a few faces turning
up at all the gigs now, it's brilliant.
This is the last gig
before Rebellion so the lads are really going for it,
it's been a brilliant turn out. Doncaster is a great
place to play, we will be back, next stop BLACKPOOL
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday 15th July
2014 - DIRTBOX DISCO comes to tarn (11-07-14)
Wow, Friday was absolutely
brilliant, Spunk Volcano and the boys played out of
their skins to entertain a very large appreciative Barnsley
audience, plus quite a few who'd travelled from Leeds,
Wakefield, Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham, Newcastle,
Derby and probably a few more I've missed. In the crowd
are members of :- Brainbomb, X-Rippers, Abrasive Wheels,
Geoffrey Oicott, Septic Psychos, Hospital Food, Kingcrows,
Sons Of El Roacho and probably others.
System walk on stage
at 9pm sharp and hit the stage running, straight in
Insanity, then another, then another, relentlessly banging
from one song to the next, only stopping for the odd
drinks break, yes it's warmer than Brazil in the Polish
Club tonight and the people and loving it. It's hot
in the room and as soon as System finish their set,
everyone vacates to the beer garden for a well earned
breath of fresh air. This is the best System Of Hate
have ever played by the way !
10-15pm and it's Dirtbox
time, the sound is perfect and everyone moves forward,
Dirtbox have a bagful of songs, each one a sing-a-long
classic. Lots of people have been converted tonight,
one guy said, "I've never heard the songs before
but feel like I know everyone", high praise indeed.
I had to laugh when Spunk Volcano was complaining it
was hot and Weab says, "You chose to wear the balaclava!",
classic line, another Weab-ism directed at Spunk was,
"Bloody Hell he must mean business, he's tuning
up now!" A great set, by a great set of lads and
even an encore thrown in, just fantastic !!!
It was a great night
for Barnsley Punk Promotions, System Of Hate and the
people of Barnsley, Dirtbox Disco will be returning
to Barnsley, they can't wait to play again. Thanks to
everyone who supported this event, you made it happen
and created an incredible night !!!!!! Big big Thanks
to Brian Featherstone!
Next Gig :- The Hallcross,
Doncaster - Saturday 26th July 2014 - back to the scene
of System's first ever gig ! Das Abyss and Inequality
Street also play - free entry!
Tuesday 15th July
2014 - SLAMfest (05-07-14)
We had a fantastic day
at SlamFest 2014 (05-07-2014) Rotherham, it was a pleasure
to share the stage at the Trades Club with :- The Thurmanators,
First Wave, UK Skunk, Brainbomb, Mark Jackson's Criminal
Waste Of Time, Septic Psychos, Diamond Velocity, The
Lurkers and 999. Everyone played really well and it
was a honour to be part of the event.
We were lucky enough
to be on after the Septic Psychos who really got the
room rocking, we played a great set and got a lovely
reception from the people of Rotherham. Another lovely
bonus was Steve Ellis (who recorded our second e.p.)
was doing the sound, so we got a great sound too. Great
day and good see friends old and new.
Thursday 26th June

Monday 19th May 2014
- Rotherham, Cutlers Arms Gig (16/05/14)
Our first visit to Rotherham
and a great time was had by all. The Cutlers Arms is
a real ale pub and very welcoming. Das Abyss from Doncaster
opened the evening, a cross between Subway Sect &
Slaughter & The Dogs, it a quick fire, slick set,
couple of covers, very good and a really nice bunch
of lads. System up and it's a DIY p-a so it's has more
of a punk feel and comments afterwards tell us, was
not a bad thing. Its a great success with nice audience
participation on a couple of songs, great to see some
old friends in the crowd and the new ones, thanks for
travelling over! Next gig, as of now is Rotherham, we
are hoping something might come in before hand.
Don't forget - DIRTBOX DISCO tickets are still on sale

Batley (04/05/14)
Friday (2nd May 2014)
we were back at the Courthouse in Barnsley with our
good friends BrainBoMB, a great crowd and some new faces,
Brainbomb play a great set and really get the room rocking,
as we say something for everyone on the Barnsley Punk
Promotions nights. Next up, System power through a set
of songs from the first two singles plus songs which
will appear on "the album", Halos Of Deception
makes it's first ever outing and gets a lovely reception.
Great night!
Sunday (4th May) and
it's over to Brooklands Bar for the 4th Batley Punk
Festival with Hospital Food, System Of Hate, Chapter
13, The Guttersluts and Lizzy & the Banshees. It's
a decent turn out and sales are very good, the new e.p.
is selling well. We use friday's set list, make a few
crossings out to make 40 minutes up, another a good
crisp performance, a great weekend !!!!!!! Next gig:-
16th of May - Cutlers Arms, Rotherham with Das Abyss.
First trip to Rotherham for System.
April 2014
We've had a quiet April
but behind the scenes we completed our 'Madness' track
(no not 'Insanity', Suggs and the Nutty Boys - that
Madness). "Stepping Into Line", has been recorded
for the Specialized Teenage Cancer Trust Project, Martin
has done a tremendous job on the track piecing it all
together and organising the recording of each member
and our good friend Andy Blower has popped up on Sax,
and what a job he's done, as have all the lads!!! More
news on the release date, etc, soon!
Monday 24th March

2014)
Well folks the brand
new CD is finally upon us! The "Insanity e.p."
is now available via this website and at gigs. The launch
evening yesterday (Sunday 23rd March at the Polish Barnsley)
was a wonderful gig, System Of Hate played out of their
skins, it certainly helps with a good sound on stage
and the extra rehearsals have really made a difference.
Big thanks to Brainbomb who played as well as they have
in ages, a couple of gigs and they're back to their
brilliant selves. Thanks to the Polish Club for their
continued support and Marcus again for the great sound
and lights!!! Get your copy now !! Visit the merch page

Tuesday 11th March
2014 - Courthouse - Barnsley Gig (friday 07/03/14)
System played their
first gig at the Courthouse in Barnsley last friday
to a well packed room. Brainbomb opened the evening
with a set full of crowd pleasing covers and well crafted
originals, their first gig of the year and a total success.
Next up System, who
open up with their brand new "Intro Tape",
then straight into "Insanity", the first track
off the brand new Single. It's a very tight set , slick
changes with brand new song "Killing Fields"
introduced into the mix, Iggy Pop's "Wanna Be Your
Dog" makes a nice return and as a special 30 Years
since the Miners Strike, "No Government" gets
an extra loud applause. Great crowd, good sound from
Matt Black-Vines and a very accommodating venue, cheers
everyone involved.
Next gig:- "SINGLE
LAUNCH at the Polish Club - Sunday 23rd of March 2014
- 5pm start"
Sunday 2nd March
2014 - SINGLE E.P. LAUNCH / AIRPLAY

at 5pm sharp and entry is free, the Insanity e.p will

We now have the tickets
for DIRTBOX DISCO, if you want one for the JULY show
please contact us.
We have done very well
with Airplay for the new single, getting plays in England,
Germany & America so far. It's hard to keep up with
everyone playing it but we appreciate everyone who takes
the time to play a song. We are very proud of the songs
and now they are packaged up with the artwork and disc,
it looks amazing, Well Done all involved !!!!
Wednesday 5th February
2014 - Hop, Wakefield Review with DISCHARGE (31st January
2014)
It's been a while since
we've played at the Hop, we thought we were playing
with Anti-Pasti but due to their recent split, Discharge
are now headliners. It's a cold, wet night but still
a decent turn out, Bob from the Guttersluts is our driver
tonight and we can't thank him enough! We open the night,
a re-jigged set list, 30 minutes of heavier stuff, seems
to go down very nicely, with an Anti-Pasti cover in
the middle, you know the one. We have friends in the
audience and it's good to see them, cheers for coming.
- cheers Andy !!
Hospital Food up next,
a nice steady set, new drummer, couple new songs since
we last saw them and the audience like it, all good.
Discharge up next and we expect a barrage on noise on
the ear-holes but what we do get is a lovely surprise,
great musicianship (Rainy & Bones), a drummer as
fit as a bull and Rat (vocals) giving it, everything
he's got, just brilliant lads! A great night, good sound,
nice vibe and special thanks to Bri Feather for running
the Merchandise and selling well............Another
fantastic night on Planet System !!!
Thursday 30th January
2014 - Final Mix of Insanity E.P.
Paddy, Carl & Martin
went over to Orion Studios to finalise the mix of our
2nd single, the "Insanity e.p." It's been
a long time coming, with Steve Ellis being in such high
demand as; Producer, Engineer and Live Sound-man plus
we decided to add Martin's parts at the last minute
(he wasn't in the band when we started). Steve had sent
mixes over and all in all they were near perfect, a
few tweaks and 'bob's yer uncle'.
With a few listens,
tests on different systems, the car test and the Bose
test and everyone in the band "okayed" it
by 10pm - so that's it!
The cover artwork has
been ready for a few weeks, Jambo from the Krayons set
the cover up, Steve Mitchell @ Mitchellworks completed
the back cover a few days ago. So this has now been
sent over to Paul at Retro Records (Punk Domain) to
package together, more info soon. A launch night will
also be organised in Barnsley, probably in March!
Monday 20th January
2014 - First Gig Of 2014 - Yorkshire Punk Night - Polish
Club (18th Jan '14)
A rare Saturday night
gig at the Polish Club for Barnsley Punk Promotions
and we see quite a few new faces. The Krayons (a Young
Wakefield Street Punk band) open the show and play a
very slick set, it's fast loud and gritty, just what
the 'post xmas blues' doctor ordered, for a 3 piece
they make a lovely full-on noise, great stuff.
Old friends, the Kingcrows
up next, and you know what you are going to get with
this 4 piece from Leeds, loads of energy, nice bouncy
Punk 'N Roll with a touch of Sleazy Glam in there, again
an outstanding set and the audience are very appreciative.
Last up, System Of Hate
and after two great sets the boys are really 'Punked
-Up' and going for it, no nonsense slick changes between
songs only interrupted by much required refreshment
breaks, it's hot in the room tonight and a total success
numbers wise, it's packed. System introduce a new song
into the set, "I Wanna Be Your Dog" by Iggy
& the Stooges and it's a winner. Great night, fantastic
sound, brilliant to see all the punk rock family travelling
from all over Yorkshire, Many Thanks.
Next gig - 31st of January
- the Hop, Wakefield with DISCHARGE & Hospital Food.
Tuesday 7th Janaury
- 2014 - HAPPY NEW YEAR !! Upstarts Review (27-12-13)
- Leopard, Doncaster.
A return to the Leopard
after our fantastic support gig with the UK Subs (29-11-13),
we got booked straight back and we meet the Angelic
Upstarts and Crashed Out again (last time - York 8/11/13).
Well the place is absolutely rammed, I can only think
people want some respite from the Turkey and the Family,
plus see 3 great bands for only 10 quid (cheers for
buying tickets off us!!). It's great to see so many
people, a good few have traveled over from Barnsley,
Steve Ellis works his magic on sound and who'd know
we hadn't had a rehearsal due to Xmas commitments. Martin
opened up our set with "God Rest You Merry Gentlemen",
a Victorian carol which talks about the power of Satan,
a bit of culture, the calm before the storm and it's
1-2-3-4 and we blast through an intense set. Magic !
Crashed-Out rush the
stage as we are on quick turnarounds, they blast out
their Ruck 'N Roll, Street Punk and really warm the
audience for the main act. May I say at this point,
The Upstarts and Crashed-Out have treated us really
well once more, even allowing us access to their rider,
oh yes!!!!!! Thomas "Mensi" Mensforth and
his lads hit the stage and play better, louder and longer
than I remember, and he has the audience in the palms
of his very massive hands, it one hell of a show, with
all the trimmings. The roof has been blown off tonight,
we all meet again in 2014, a brilliant end to a BRILLIANT
year!!!!
There is a review of
the evening at www.PUNX.CO.UK
- link here - http://www.punx.co.uk/angelic-upstarts-leopard-doncaster-27-december-2013
"First up were
local boys from sunny Barnsley, System of Hate. I hadn’t
seen them before, but they made a good noise. Growling
vocals, wailing guitars, all with a screeching synth
background, what’s not to like? If I notice them
playing somewhere nearby again I’ll definitely
be going along to see them."
Thank You so much for
all your support throught 2013 !!!!!!!!
Tuesday 17th December
- Xmas Polish Club Gig (13th December 2013)
Last home-town gig of
the year and it's a very good turn out at the Polish
Club. Mark Jackson's Criminal Waste Of Talent opens
the night and it's a tremendous set from Barnsley's
Master of Mirth, Author and Recording Star. He's got
great stage presence, good gags and a crackingly tight
band behind him, excellent lads, great show! Quick raffle
read out and again thanks so much everyone who has bought
tickets, you help support us!!!
System Of Hate up next
and it's a very tight set, slick changes between songs
and a great audience reaction, 'Crucified' comes back
in, to end the set and goes down a bomb! A few new faces
in the crowd which is always good, including Mr. Andrew
Bellis who takes some fantastic photos (see below).
Special thanks to everyone at the Polish Club, you have
really looked after us this year.
Next gig - 27th December
at the Leopard, Doncaster with Angelic Upstarts and
Crash-Out - yes we meet again! Tickets available from
System Of Hate, only a tenna ! Have a Great Christmas
and a fantastic New Year !!!!!!!!!!!!! CHEERS FOR ALL
YOUR SUPPORT !!!!!!!!
Sunday 15th December
- 2013 - Orion Studio Visit for Martin (10th December
2013)
On Tuesday the 10th
of December Martin Roberts made his way to Rotherham
to add his keyboard parts to 3 of the 4 previously recorded
tracks with Steve at Orion Studios. Due to the fact
loads of people are plaguing the life out of us to release
new material, we are putting out a 4 track e.p. as soon
as possible. So Martin is adding to Ashes Of Divinity,
Dogs Of War and Infected, we are leaving Insanity as
it is, due to the fact it has Saxophone on it (click
here for a preview link on soundcloud). We were
going to do an album next and add to these tracks but
due to time constraints, we feel we can't wait that
long, we will let you know as soon as it's out. Martin
added several parts to each song and really enhanced
what is already there, we also felt it was imperative
to get Martin on the songs, as he is now firmly in the
band. More news soon........
Thursday 5th December
- 2013 - Brand New Member - Martin Roberts
We've been so busy lately
that we have not properly introduced our brand new band
member. Mr. Martin Roberts on keyboards ! See him below
picture with Charlie Harper and Alvin Gibbs of the Legendary
punk band the UK SUBS!!!
Wednesday 4th December
- 2013 - UK Subs Review (29th November) - Leopard, Doncaster
With 4 big UK Subs fans
in the band, we'd been looking forward to this one for
ages, cheers to Steve Ellis for putting us forward.
The traffic was bumper to bumper all through Doncaster,
a couple of accidents at either side of town nearly
brings us to a stand still but with good planning and
an early start, we arrive first. We get the gear up
the iron outside staircase, thank god it's not icy,
then wait for the others, we are shown to the dressing
room, yes Dear reader, dressing room and it's shared.
Jamie, Alvin, Jet and
Charlie arrive next, then Nexus Noise not long after,
we are behind time so quick sound checks and everyone's
happy. The doors open and slowly people start trickling
in, by the time its show time the room is nicely full,
System Of Hate open and blast into "Insanity"
and the crowd are getting it, great warm reaction from
the audience. As we get further into the set the room
is full, the sound is absolutely brilliant (Steve Ellis
the guy who we've been recording with is doing the sound
and he's very good), the crowd are moving to the music
and Charlie Harper is at the back nodding away as well.
We end with "No Government", now with added
Martin Roberts keys and the place goes wild, brilliant
gig (note to self - order more T-shirts). We get some
great feedback from Alvin Gibbs and Charlie Harper,
as they tell us to help ourselves to another drink from
the rider (oh yes, oh yes!!!).
Nexus Noise up next
and they play mainly covers but they do them very well,
very similar choices to our good friends Brainbomb,
the crowd enjoy them too, the night is set up nicely
for the Subs.
Wow, it's packed, apparently this place hasn't been
as busy in a good while, the Subs are on fire and blast
through there "no set list" set, very nice
chaps as well.
Special thanks to Greg
for looking after the merch desk, Tracy, Spider, Paul
and especially Steve E. Gear down the big Iron stairs,
I even help Alvin with his bass amp, I'll regret that
in the morning but not tonight, we are all buzzing from
another Great, great night in Doncaster !!!!!!!! Big
thanks to Smudge and Jimmy Mac for the transportation
!!!
We have been booked
back at the Leopard on 27th December with our good friends;
Angelic Upstarts & Crashed-Out!!! See ya there!!!!!!!!!!!
Sunday 1st December
- 2013 - REBELLION 2014
We are very pleased
to announce SYSTEM OF HATE are playing Rebellion 2014
!!!! We can not thank you enough for your support through
2013. And to the special PEOPLE who have been plugging,
pushing and pulling us in the right direction, we will
always be in your debt........T H A N K - Y O U !!!!!
Saturday 30th November
2013 - LONDON, 12 Bar Club (23th November '13)
We set off from Barnsley
at 9pm sharp on Saturday the 23rd of November, heading
for Meadowhall Bus Interchange. The bus arrived a little
late, but 3.5 hours later we hit the 'Big Smoke'. 5
minutes later and we're in the Digs, a lovely Hostel
over-looking Battersea Power Station, we check in, quick
pint of Guinness and then make up our beds. Yes Dear
Reader, we have to put our own sheets on, pillows in
pillowcases and the big tester duvets inside the duvet
covers, this was the subject of much mirth and the bonding
session had started. A quick wash and we get back to
the Guinness; we feast upon Barnsley pork pies, which
Paddy has kindly brought along.
After some chill out
time we order a taxi and make our way to the 12 Bar
Club on Denmark Street (as seen on BBC's The One Show
recently), we leave our gear in the lock up room and
then go for a quick pint at the Intrepid Fox. We return
around 7pm for sound check and blast through "Who
Bleeds?” sorted, sounds great! A quick bite to
eat, on our return, Pete 'Manic Esso' Haynes from the
Lurkers (who watched us at Rebellion 2013) and Leigh
Heggarty (Ruts DC / TV Smith, Department S, plus many
more) have come to show their support and it's great
to see them!!! Tom Halpin of 16 Guns, a good mate of
the band has also made the trip with his wife, always
good to catch up with them.
Salvators Gun open
the evening, I believe it's their 1st ever gig and they
have a post punk vibe, an older singer with younger
guys around him, I quite enjoyed their set. Next up;
The Band Of The Underhand, these lads can really play,
with a piano keyboard sound, they remind me of REM,
Squeeze with a little bit of the Blockheads in there,
it’s very good indeed!
System hit the stage
just after 10pm and it's been along day but we are here
to play, so play we do! There's not a lot of room on
this stage, as the photos and videos show but we made
it Rock, in more ways than one ;-) A great reception
and a very tight set if I say so myself, Tom from 16
Guns joins us on stage for the Anti Pasti 'Classic'
"No Government", great job and totally unrehearsed!
Time for a drink and
Mr. Barnet treats us all to a drink, Hobgoblin's all
round - brilliant mate, thanks so much for putting us
on. Electric Eyes next on stage and it’s a laid
back blend of Punk, Blues and Rock 'n Roll, we watch
most of the set on the TV screen in the bar, as our
old legs need to rest, it's all good stuff. The place
is now full to the rafters, the after show party for
the Meteors is now in full swing, Green Monsters hit
the stage. They play good time Rockabilly, a great vibe,
a great show. Taxi!!! Then Bed. We wake for breakfast
at 7am, taxi, bus at 9-30am. We are back in Barnsley
for 1-30pm - brilliant, brilliant, brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you London! We will be back! ...................................Video

19th November 2013 - Short Notice Gig at The Polish,
Barnsley (15th November '13)
With half of Barnsley
migrating to Holmfirth to watch Stiff Little Fingers,
the live England v Chile football game and 'Children
In Need' on our screens, we were very pleasantly surprised
and extremely happy to play to a good sized audience
at The Barnsley Polish Club. The Septic Psychos opened
the show with their fast paced old school punk rock,
and they did not disappoint, brilliant lads! I'm sure
we'll be seeing you in Barnsley again soon. System Of
Hate, Martin Roberts now firmly in place and qnother
great show, the sound is great and the light show just
as strong, with each song ending in total darkness,
Well Done! Marcus. Thanks to the Polish for their continued
support and everyone who came out !! Thanks-so-much
!!!!!!!! Photo by Simon Eastwood, Cheers!

2013 - Angelic Upstarts / Crash-Out Gig (8th November
'13)
A nice road trip to
York and traveling with us, our brand new shipmate Mr.
Martin Roberts (Keyboards, yes that's correct Keyboards).
We arrive in good time, although we do struggle to find
the Duchess, we make sound-check and receive some complimentary
drinks on our entry courtesy of the Upstarts, great
start to the evening. We hit the stage at 8.00pm sharp
and bang through our 30 minute set, it's brilliant,
tight and you can feel the warmth from the crowd. A
lot of people hearing Martin for the first time, are
quite 'taken a-back', we get loads of nice comments,
including Jase of Geoffrey Oicott fame. Highlight for
me, during the playing of "Zealot's Path",
I looked round to see Mensi in the doorway nodding away,
'priceless'. Next up Crashed-Out start right on time,
a punchy more rockier version of punk rock, these lads
are good, regulars at Rebellion and another 30 minutes
of noise gets the crowd revved up for the Upstarts.
The Upstarts take to the stage to a heroes' welcome,
Mensi commands the stage and it's a set of classic 3
minute punk gems, the band are on it and the sound has
been perfect for all 3 bands. It's a brilliant turn
out and we sell out of cd singles, we've been treated
well by everyone, no egos, no silliness, brilliant,
brilliant, brilliant night, well done Chris Jones, another
corker!
Friday 25th October
2013 - Polish Club Review (18th October '13) - Special
Guests
First gig back in Barnsley
for a while (July being the last) and we have two very
special guest playing with System tonight, Paul Gilmartin
still covering on drums and Martin Roberts (Danse Society
: Bass Player) on keyboards. We are also very privileged
to have Mark Jackson (local Author, Poet, Singer and
all round good egg) compere for the evening. Brainbomb
kick off the evening with their 1977 sounding punk rock,
a set of originals and covers, these lads get better
with every gig, great set and a nice contrast to make
it a real mixed PUNK night.
Mark introduces System,
he says, "it's like having Lionel Messi on the
subs bench", referring to Paul Gilmartin and he's
right, we can't thank Paul enough for what he has done
for us, keeping the System ticking over. We hit the
ground running, for the first time ever with a keyboard
player and everyone agrees it makes a brilliant addition
to the dark punk sound, Martin plays a blinder of a
gig. It's a great, tight, fast set and Phil the soundman
has really looked after us, as have the Polish Club
as per usual. We finish with a brand new song, "Tears
Of Blood", it's a great end to a fantastic night.
Thanks everyone for coming along and supporting live
music, especially Barnsley Punk Promotions.
Paddy, Paul, Pat & Martin after the gig!
Next gig - Friday 8th
of November 2013, Angelic Upstarts & Crashed Out
at the Duchess in York. See you all down the front !
Tuesday 8th October
2013 - Carl On The Mend & Test Tubes Gig (4th October)
System's first gig since
Carl's car accident and we are supporting Peter &
The Test Tube Babies. Paul Gilmartin (of legendary Barnsley
80's Chart band - Danse Society) is standing in until
Carl is totally fit to return. Carl has traveled through
tonight with P&TTB being a gig he just did not want
to miss, he is on the Merch desk tonight and even does
Peter's too, it's great to see him.
Peter
& Carl
Hung Like Hanratty open
proceedings and try their damnedest to warm the crowd
up, a nice bunch of lads, I'm sure we'll play together
again and thanks Lads for the use of your bass amp,
Cheers. Next up, System and we tear into "Insanity",
sounds great and Paul is pounding the Drums like they
owe him money, next into "Who Bleeds?", it's
going well and we all relax a bit. The rehearsals have
paid off and we are enjoying it, although we did play
the fastest version of "Parasites in Paradise"
ever, with Paul just upping the tempo a little too much,
he obviously has a hardcore beat in him just trying
to break-out, no harm done. We play Zealot's Path which
hasn't had an outing for quite a while and all in all
we get a great reaction from the Batley faithful, Thank
You People! Paul is buzzing and so are we, Carl says
it sounded great, and we all watch the Test Tubes. A
nice bunch of lads and a great set of classics P&TTB
stuff, it's been a great night!!
Next gig:- 18th October
2013 - Barnsley Polish Club, our first gig in Barnsley
since July, featuring a very special guest on Keyboards.
Saturday 28th September
2013 - Dep. Drummer
The Drummer from Barnsley's
first ever punk band (The Restricted) Mr. Paul Gilmartin,
will be covering for Carl on drums until he is fit enough
to return. Paul more famous for being the drummer with
Barnsley legendary Goth band - Danse Society, is very
excited to be involved and can't wait to play live with
System Of Hate.
Paul plays his first
gig on the 4th October at Batley, where S.O.H. support
Peter & The Test Tube Babies, Hung Like Hanratty
open the gig.
Thursday 18th September
2013 - Carl News
Carl our drummer was
in a car accident last Wednesday the 11th September.
He is ok, other than a number of broken ribs, an injury
to the back of his head, which has been stitched and
is healing well. He is black and blue where the seat
belt did it's job, has pain in one shoulder and general
"fed-up-ness". He is back at home now after
a number of days in the hospital and we wish him a speedy
recovery, get well soon mate !!!!!
Sheffield's Bone Park
Rider have kindly stepped in at the last minute to headline
the Courthouse gig (20th September) and Cambodia open
proceedings as originally planned.

2013 - REBELLION FESTIVAL Report
Rebellion 2013 - Winter
Gardens - Blackpool - Pavilion Stage
"Straight out of
Barnsley comes a Punk Rock tsunami of noise with extremely
dark lyrics.....Portraying the darker side of Punk with
intensity and a deep sincerity. The heart of South Yorkshire
is bared to you all ... watch it bleed." - from
the Rebellion 2013 Programme
What can we say ? Rebellion
the big one, everyone want's to play this Festival and
we've done it! So proud of all the System lads, special
thanks to Gary and Pete for looking after the merchandise,
Paddy's Family for coming over and mucking in and big
big thanks to so many people for supporting us! Means
the world to us!!! A Few gremlins with the sound but
all in all, it was a superb gig !
We all woke early like
kids on Christmas morning, eager to get this one under
our belts, we set off at 10am only to be held up on
the M62 by cows, yes I kid you not cows at Leeds. A
slight delay and we're off, "the first one to see
the Tower gets a kick in", happy days, we arrive
around 1pm, load in at the Hotel and get up to the venue
for the wristbands. A slight queue which is filled with
'Stars of Punk', no egos, it great, we get our bands
and relax, time to take in some music before we go back
and pick our gear up.
Quick change at the
hotel and it's back to Winter Gardens with the gear,
the New Band Stage looks great and we watch a few bands
to get a feel, there's a nice sized crowd. A few drinks
and we're on, we play really well and the audience reaction
is great, we have Gary and Pete on the merch desk and
they are working their socks off, it's been a very good
day! We all watch the Cundeez and try and take in what
we've just achieved, we drop the gear off at the hotel
and it's our time now to watch some PUNK!! Cheers folks
!! See you soon !
Wednesday 14th August
2013 - Late Polish Club - Headline Gig REVIEW
Brilliant turn out on
Sunday at the Polish Club, on one of the warmest days
of the year, for the Return Of PUNK In The Afternoon.
The last gig for System before Rebellion, (6pm Thursday
8th of August 2013 - New Band Stage - Pavilion, Winter
Gardens, Blackpool). Brainbomb open proceedings with
a cracking set of mainly covers, great energy and great
sound. Mark Jackson's Criminal Waste Of Talent up next
and with Mark also the compere, he's working hard, with
a book and cd single to promote, there's much to do.
Now with his full band including drums and bass it a
great sound, not unlike the Fall, it extremely entertaining
and the best I've seen him. The stage is red hot now
and System are ready, the Polish club are even sending
water up to the stage, one of the highlights for me
is Marcus (Soundman) telling Paddy to look up at something
in the sky and then turning his bass amp down, he's
good that Marcus. Quick 35 - 40 minute set, finished
off with No Government, a little nod to the Confusion
days and the crowd love it. System are now having a
few weeks off before Blackpool, remember 6pm sharp,
Pavilion Stage!
Wednesday 10th July
2013 - Vice Squad -Cockpit Report - 28/06/13
It's the Cockpit tonight
(28th June) for the System, earlier than normal sound
check finds the lads in Leeds for 5-30pm, yes I kid
you not. We are playing under a hot tin roof and you
can feel the heat already in an empty room. We are providing
most of the gear tonight, that's us, generous to a fault!
We know the Segregates' singer (the opening band tonight),
Smell, formerly of the band - Comply Or Die and it's
great to see him. Vice Squad arrive late, commandeer
the full merchandise area, bit rude but this is all
part of the game, enough negativity, on with the show.
Segregates open up with
a Punk 'n Roll driving power, there's a metal influence,
guitar and bass players both have Motorhead tattoos,
they wear their influences on their sleeves and it's
in the music, good set lads! System next up and my god,
it warm, we pound through a 30 minute set of what we
deem to be most suitable for this audience and they
love it, a fantastic reaction and the merchandise booth
we have made our own on the lower deck is buzzing with
activity. Wayne Stuntface (Bass player from Vice Squad)
watches the whole set of both support bands and that's
really nice to see. Vice Squad get up and the place
is extremely hot now, lots of bodies in a small space,
they do just over a hour and the audience show their
appreciation. It's been a great night to be honest,
an early finish 10-30pm curfew, and we might get home
to watch some Glastonbury on tv. Chris has put on another
fantastic night of punk rock, we love this guy, good
to see everyone, from Batley and Wakefield too, 'til
next time, good night !
Wednesday 19th June
2013 - First Headline Gig / Backing Vox in Studio
Studio Backing Vocals
(16th June 2013)
Back in the studio,
Sunday (16th June) just after lunch, Paddy, Pat &
Carl, here to do the 'shoutie' bits on the new e.p.
Its individual backing vocals, the lads normally do
a group shout at the mic, but this is Orion Studios,
so we're doing it right! If someone is slightly out
on a group one, there's not a lot you can do, but if
it's done individually then the take isn't completely
lost. Each person takes their turn to scream all their
anger out in the vocal booth (order is :- The Dogs Of
War, Infected, Insanity and Ashes Of Divinity), God
knows what the neighbours think ('They're arguing again
Bert, listen to him screaming!'). All goes very well,
there's some intricate ooohhhhhhhhhhhh's on 'Infected',
takes a little bit longer but we get it down, you will
know what we mean, when you hear it, another great session!
First Headline
Gig (14th June 2013)
Friday 14th of June
and we make our 3rd visit this year to the Hallcross
in Doncaster, the infamous venue where we were stranded
in the snow, the night we supported Vice Squad. We arrive
last MLC (Mid Life Crisis) are sound checking, we sound
check straight after, move things round a bit and then
relax. We chat with the other bands and everyone is
really nice and respectful. MLC are up first, a four
piece from Manchester, not too dissimilar to our good
pals Brainbomb, pop punk songs that don't hang around
too long, tell a quick tale and then the next one comes
up, they end with 'Women' by Anti Nowhere League. No
Brain UK are up next, a 3 piece from Hull, the first
song reminds me of an early punky Beastie Boys, they
have youth on their side and are definitely enjoying
themselves. System step up quite late and blast straight
into 'Insanity' (back as first song), 'Crucified' second
now and then into the normal run of things, we are tight
("Rippers tight", Pat says, in reference to
old Barnsley Punk Band known for being tight) and the
audience really show their appreciation. It's been a
nice trip out and we've met some good people, no sleep-over
tonight, Thank You, Everyone who came out !
See video below from
the Hallcross - Parasites In Paradise by David Melvin
(MLTF)
(Remember to turn the player off at the top if you want
to listen to this! Thanks !)
Saturday 15th June
2013 - Busy times - Goth Gig & Suty's Vocals
Vocals & Saxophone
at Orion Studios (12th June 2013)
Studio time again, Suty
and Paddy take the trip over to Orion, as previously
mentioned the "Insanity e.p." is mainly recorded,
tonight Suty fills in the vocal blanks with his dark
dulcet tones. Old friend Andy Blower makes a guest appearance
with his saxophone, Andy is putting sax on the 'Insanity'
song and nails it in a couple of takes, cheers Andy,
can't wait to hear the final version. Suty gets in the
box, in the zone, really in the mood and blasts through,
in this order :- Insanity, Infected, The Dogs Of War
and Ashes Of Divinity. He doubles up a few parts and
listens back, both parties are very satisfied with the
evening's work. Next stage, backing vocals Sunday (16th
June), mixing and a pencilled in release date for August
2013.
Goth Night / Snooty
Video (8th June 2013)
We've been so busy news
is a little late. We were booked on to this bill quite
awhile ago and as the night approached we were worried
we might not appeal to a Goth audience. When we arrived
we were made very welcome by all the band members of
Lupine and 13 Candles and then went straight to sound
check. We were the only band with real drums so Carl
set up from scratch really quickly, a few technical
problems with Pat's amp, (this was solved by a loan
from the Snooty of a Marshall) and Bob's your Uncle,
the System are ready. A little break and then it's stage
time, a little earlier than billed but the lads are
up for it, the Snooty do a live internet streaming service
(texts tell us we came across very well) and a live
video recording ( which we got a copy of), we will be
releasing the odd tracks to YouTube from time to time
(Stay Tuned!). A brand new song to open 'Crucified'
and then into the set as normal, 'Ashes Of Divinity'
makes it's second appearance, a newish song that appears
on the new e.p. (yet to be realised). We get a very
good reaction from the crowd and the pre-gig apprehension
about not being compatible with the genre, is totally
unfounded. 13 Candles up next and 'Wow', these guys
can play, some intricate guitar playing and a solid
sound makes some very powerful songs, this is good for
us to see something different, it can only help expand
our ideas. Headliners, Lupine hit the stage and you
can tell this band has been at it quite a few years,
they seem older school Goth to me but I'm no expert,
a more performance based show, front man Lemmy holds
it all together, with great supporting vocals from Katie
(also Pedigree Skum's singer), great musicianship all
round. A great night, something different but totally
enjoyable - video footage soon !!
Friday 7th June 2013
- Elsecar (Barnsley) Punk Pub Crawl (1st June 2013)
Suty and Pat travelled
back from the coast on the morning of the gig (Saturday
1st June), straight into Live Arts rehearsal studios
for 1-30pm and prepared for their slot at the Elsecar
Pub Punk Crawl 2013. The event originally involved our
good friend Dave Fungal Punk (who felt he had to pull
out for reasons I'm not going to go into on here), the
reins of the event were taken over by Elsecar promoter
Simon Piper and old contact Rossi from Hoyland. The
basic idea was, 3 venues all within 100 yards of Elsecar
train station were to be used in a rotating order, with
bands playing from 2pm til 11pm, one act plays, then
all the audience walk to the next venue, on paper a
great idea and in real time, a total success. No egos,
no backbiting, no trouble, everything was really well
executed, Mark Jackson compered the whole event and
lead everyone like the Pied Piper from pub to pub. The
Clothiers, The Fitzwilliam and Cobcar Social Club all
up for the event were filled for every act and The Fitzwilliam
even had an outside stage. It was a pleasure to be involved
in such a great day, Big Thank You to Simon, Rossi and
Mark Jackson for working so hard, plus all bar staff
and the crowd for sticking with it. The bands involved
in the day were - Fluffy Gremlins, CSOD, Bruce Tality,
Hospital Food, Dischord, Mark Jackson's CWOT, The Hurriers,
System Of Hate, Septic Psychos, Senton Bombs. With a
number of bands travelling over from Blackpool they
were blown away with the brilliant Barnsley turn out.
I believe this will now become an annual event, which
we are 100% behind.
Here is System Of Hate
on the day with a video recording of Fractured by Dave
Melvin (from Most Likely To Fail ) live in the Cobcar
Social Club - 1st June 2013
(Remember to turn the player off at the top if you want
to listen to this! Thanks !)
Friday 17th May
2013 - Orion Studios Revisited
Pat made the return
journey over to Rotherham to put the guitar parts down
last Sunday (12th May) for the 'Insanity e.p.' He was
firstly greeted and very grateful with the New Model
Army autographs that Steve had kindly got for him, as
he was doing their live sound the night before at Sheffield
(NMA play Rebellion 2013 the same day as System Of Hate).
A nice pot of tea and a few level checks and it's down
to some dirty, dark punk rock courtesy of fender telecaster
meets 5150 Peavey and ENGL guitar amps. I know the order
he recorded was ; Insanity, Infected, The Dogs Of War,
Ashes Of Divinity and he played each song quite a few
times through each amp and Steve kept pushing and pushing
for a better take. So each guitar part will be doubled
up with the odd lead part thrown in for good measure.
I also know much tea was consumed through the session
and he was absolutely buzzing when he came away, with
the power of the recording, next part the vocals!
Tuesday 14th May
2013 - Orion Studios Visit 5th May 2013, Rotherham
On Sunday the 5th of
May, we travelled through to Rotherham to start recording
our second single, the "Insanity e.p.", the
songs will be :- Insanity, Ashes Of Divinity, Infected
and The Dogs Of War. This is the first time we have
recorded at Orion Studios with Steve Ellis but Pat has
worked with him about a decade ago and really pushed
to get in his new studio. Luckily Carl arrives early
and most of the drum gear has made it's way up the small
windy stairs, result! We spent quite a time setting
the Drums up but with Steve being so well-known for
his incredible drum sound, we know it's worth it. I'm
not going to give away his secrets but there are 2 things
he took time doing, which I have never seen any other
engineer do. We lock Carl away in the drum room, work
out the levels of the other instruments in his headphones
and away we go. A couple of run thoughts and we are
still tight from Friday's Sham 69 gig. Carl wants perfection
and so does Steve, so we bang through Insanity about
six times and have a great take, Carl comes back in
to have a listen and it's smiles all round. A little
food and drink and the beast is back in the cage, Carl
is raging now and we get a perfect take on Ashes Of
Divinity, only thing is, it was just a run through,
we didn't record it, we all burst out laughing, next
take and it's perfect. More food and Paddy's suitcase
sized cool bag is being attacked by Carl, he leaves
the watermelon but the pies are a big hit and it's back
into the locked room to start, The Dogs Of War. Carl
starts this one and he pounds out the beat, we all follow
his lead, a couple of takes and we've got another one
in the bag. Another listen and another dip into Paddy's
cool bag and Carl's back in his box for Infected. Infected
takes a little longer but we get there and it's been
a good work-out for Mr. Gulliford.
Next up we need to record
the bass and Paddy's in very positive mood (must have
been the watermelon), a little tinkering from Steve
with the sound and the bass is booming, clanking and
blasting through like a jackhammer. He puts the Bass
lines down confidently, we have played these over and
over today, so he's tight and the bass fits perfect
with the drums, it's a great foundation! That's it,
a full day in the studio and we've achieved what we
came to do, next stage guitars.
Tuesday 14th May
2013 - Sham 69 Gig (3rd of May 2013) - Batley
Late News - A great
night was had by all at the Sham 69 gig at Brooklands
Bar in Batley. It was our first visit, we arrive in
good time, flyer the tables and it's time for sound
check, the soundmen we know from Rebel Truce, the superb
Clash tribute act. The room starts filling and it's
a nice sized crown to say we are on at 8-15pm, we play
a great set and do very well on the merchandise. Some
people have come to see us solely on the strength of
our Hop gig (Wakefield supporting Goldblade) performance,
which is really encouraging. Wild Trash are up next
and the local lads play a good tight set. Sham 69 hit
the stage and blast straight into a set of classics,
there's the odd new song in there but the diehard fans
just want the sing-along anthems. The crowd is a real
mixed bag; Skins, Punks, Mods and dare I say the odd
trendy, it's good to see everyone having a great time
together. Thanks Shaun for putting us on, there is a
rough YouTube video below here courtesy of Duesy. (Remember
to turn the player off at the top if you want to listen
to this! Thanks !)
Tuesday 23th April
2013 - Goldblade (Wakefield) - Bleed (Halifax)
It's was a very busy
week, Wednesday (17th April) rehearsal, Thursday (18th)
live at the Hop (Wakefield) supporting Goldblade and
Friday (19th) a trip to Halifax, supporting our old
friends Bleed.
We made great time to
Wakefield and it's straight into sound check, 30 minutes
later and we're on stage. We blast through the set,
the stage sound is awesome and the crowd give us a very
warm reception. We end with "No Government"
by Anti Pasti, this is definitely the right time to
play it as the old witch Thatcher was buried Yesterday
(17th April 2013).
Kleine Schweine the Leeds based Indie/Punks are next
up and it's not punk as we know it, but it's full on
melodic noise, there's a Damned cover in the mix and
it's all makes for a great set.
Goldblade hit the stage, now a 4 piece and showcasing
new harder punk songs from their forthcoming album,
“The Terror of Modern Life”. We've seen
them quite a few times but this is more intense, nice
to see them in a more intimate setting and John has
the crowd in the palm of his hand. He even takes time
to mention the support bands, "Did anyone see the
first band - System Of Hate? What a brilliant band!",
thank you kindly Mr. Robb. It's been a great night and
the cds are nearly all sold out!
Friday and we hit the north to Halifax - M1 then M62,
tonight we play with Bleed and the Krayons at Cookies
Bar. There are technical problems and the sound checks
are way, way behind but give the venue their due; they
keep our glasses topped up as they rectify the gremlins.
The Krayons open up proceedings somewhat inebriated;
we aren't much further behind them. They play a brand
of quick fire Street Punk and its good stuff, very likeable
lads, great set!
Next up and a very relaxed System Of Hate, 3rd day in
a row playing these songs and we have a sureness about
us and really enjoy playing another great set. The cds
are completely sold out – result!
Bleed up next, with their 2nd album almost ready "Hooligan
Element", they play some beauties from it and some
older songs from their "Bedlam" debut cd,
it's a good tight set of old school punk rock. As with
last night - 3 very different styled bands flying the

Tuesday 26th March
2013 - Vice Squad, Doncaster and the Snow
We made our way from
a white-over Barnsley into a snow-free Doncaster on
Friday (22nd of March 2013), taking no heed at the warnings,
"you'll get stuck if you go!". Making great
time and sound checking more or less straight away,
with Vice Squad's brilliant pedigree and once signed
to EMI, the Hallcross is full to the brim.
System play a quick
fire, cocksure set to a very receptive crowd, cd sales
of the 'Immortal e.p.' tell us we've had a brilliant
gig. The snow is now coming down with a vengeance, Vice
Squad play a brilliant 60 minute set and it's smiling
faces all round.
We hang around for a
while having some photos with Becky, Violet, Paul and
Wayne until our transport arrives. He's not coming,
he's stuck at Marr and can't get beyond the Trucks stuck
in the snow, we make our gear safe and venture into
the night.
We hit a rock bar looking
for a friend of a friend who's said she'll put six of
us up, Laura goes out for a cigarette and is never seen
again. We drop on an old mate of Carl's and explain
the situation, Greg says he'll put us up, this is brilliant
news and off we go back to his pad. We watch a recording
of the England v San Marino game and then all drift
off in to dreamland. "Greg we can not thank you
enough !!!"
Saturday morning we
walk into Doncaster and have 6 massive fry ups, beautiful,
just what the doctor ordered! Andy rings, our driver
and he's on is way, he picks us up and takes us back
to safety of God's town (Barnsley).
A couple of hours at
home and then it's another visit to Doncaster to pick
the gear up.
We all slept that night
after our little punk rock adventure :- Simon, Barry
& Paul, we hope you will join us again, on the road!
Thanks lads and all the Doncaster Punks, you made us
very welcome !!!

including brilliant saxophone on Insanity by Mr. Andy
Blower, we can't wait to record them officially.
We
are also happy with the news we will be supporting GOLDBLADE

We had a brilliant debut
Barnsley gig at the Clothiers Arms in Elsecar. A really
enjoyable experience with great support, we can't thank
the people who traveled over enough. A big thanks must
go to the Kingcrows for inviting us along for a 2nd
time and this kindness has certainly helped our live

very hard and all the staff at the Clothiers, we will
return! See the FEEDBACK page for a review of the gig

2013 - Debut Gig at the Hallcross, Doncaster (19-01-13)
Snow and Ice still on
the ground and the System Of Hate and friends set off
for Doncaster, to play their debut gig supporting the
Kingcrows. The Hallcross is a nice venue, nice stage,
good p-a and Russell in-house engineer does a great
job. It's a brilliant turn out especially with the weather
and we see some familiar faces, thank you so much for
your support and new. We hit the stage and blast through
a 30 minute set of original material, it's a complete
success and the sales of the cd single and t-shirts,
tell us we've done something right. The Kingcrows also
'fly' through a very tight/slick set and make it a complete
night.
The gig offers are now
coming in, we will update as and when we confirm them,
some nice supports with big bands being offered too,
remember to book us please - email - six67promo @ hotmail.com

Monday 24th December
2012 - Demo Update & Merry Xmas
Well folks the 2 demo'd
songs turned out really, really well. Mr. Blower put
some synthesizer on the tracks too just to give us an
idea of how they could sound with a synth player, brilliant
is the verdict! So watch this space as we may be introducing
a new member in the not too distant future (anyone interested
? drop us a line).
The debut single is
now with us - the "Immortal E.P." It has been
packaged together by our good friend Paul Kelly from
PUNKDOMAIN.com, it looks brilliant and we can't thank
him enough for the time and effort he has put in. Its
on sale locally and further a field after Christmas.
We have got our first
gig in January, the 19th to be precise in Doncaster
supporting our good friends the Kingcrows, there will
be a mini bus running if we can get enough interest,
let us know if you're interested.
One last thing to say
- "Have a great Christmas and New Year!",
from everyone at System Of Hate and keep supporting
us ! Thank You !!!
Thursday 5th December
2012 - Demo Time (Part 3)
A quick session tonight,
just over 3 hours at Andy Blower's Attic Studios and
we get down the previously mentioned, "(Our) Dogs
Of War" and "Garden Of Gethsemane". Dogs
is a rough and raw in your face number, while Garden
is heading more down a Gothy Dark Punk path, both sound
great, just waiting on mixing now.
You can now join us
on Facebook, please "click
here " and spread the word, many thanks.
Tuesday 27th October
2012 - Radio-Play
With the release of
the "Immortal e.p." only a week or so away,
we've decided to let some of our friends in Radio-Land
have a listen, with the hope they might play a track
or two. The feedback has been brilliant, beyond our
expectations in fact.
We will list the the
stations and airplay very soon.
November 2012
We have two brand new
songs; "(Our) Dogs Of War" and "Garden
Of Gethsemane". 'Dogs' was written from a rehearsal
jam and has become a band favourite, while Garden was
from a Paddy bass-line with all members chipping ideas
in as per usual. Both songs are ready to be demo'd and
will be as soon as we can get back into Andy Blower's
Studio.
September / October
2012
We work out a set list
with all the best songs in it and practice as much as
we can and with System being system we can't help but
work on new ideas/songs. Also Paul Caves takes photographs
for the forthcoming cd release, "Immortal e.p."
and for use on the website.
August 2012
More holidays and it's
Filey, Skeggy & Sutton On Sea, these dark places
inspire more songs.
Thursday the 12th
July 2012 - Mastered Tracks
System Of Hate will
be putting a demo cd out using 4 songs from the Nafro
Studio Sessions. They have been mastered by Steve Ellis
and the tracks and running order with be:- Dark Winged
Immortal, Am I Evil?, Parasites In Paradise and Sins
Of Father (see lyrics page
for full e.p. words).
The title will be the
"Immortal e.p." and the release date will
be close to the band's live debut.
Thursday the 31st
May 2012 - Demo Time (Part 2)
A slight break due to
holidays and shift pattern clashes, but still finding
time to get together, it's 'demo' time again. This time
a trip to Andy Blower's Attic Studios, also in Barnsley,
looking for a raw live sound, to mainly check that progress
is still on the up and to get finalised versions. The
band record freshly written tracks; Who Bleeds?, Fractured,
Zealot's Path and Screw Me Down. All musicians record
simultaneously, it's quick and the results are very
favourable.
Tuesday 12th of June
2012
We are proud to announce
the brand new logo - designed especially by friend of
the band - Shirley Cousen, a Barnsley artist and tattooist.
I'm sure you agree it's brilliant !
Saturday 10th of
March 2012 - Studio Visit Part 2 - Backing Vocals
A few sore heads this
morning, Total Confusion were gigging last night and
it was a late one but System are so committed to this
new cd, they are in the studio for 10-30am. A surprise
meeting with Eddie of the Vibrators on the way and it's
back to the grindstone. Black coffees all round, no
milk and we start warming the vocal chords up, to be
honest it goes like a dream. Nath comes up with some
good ideas, all System have ideas, we try all of them
and it's all very positive. We do some brief mixing
but still the main part remains. Nathan has added some
great Keyboard/Synth parts and it's coming together
very nicely, home to relax and more booze, the life
- more soon.
Saturday 3rd of March
2012 - Recording with The System - Nafro Studios
A very bleak rainy morning
in Barnsley and it's like a day trip - pop, crisps and
sandwiches packed in with guitars, cabs, amps and it's
off to the Studio we go ! Nafro Studios to be precise
in the centre of town, we are aiming to record seven
brand new tracks 'live' with our good old pal - Nathan
King - Owner, Producer and Engineer.
We set up quickly and are all very grateful when all
the gear is up the steep metal staircase, pot of tea
supped and we start rehearsing the tracks :- Parasites
in Paradise, God Is Dead, Am I Evil?, Bleed And Die,
Sins Of Father, Bureaucrat and Dark Winged Immortal.
We start banging through the songs, then Paddy's decides
he's not happy with his bass sound, he calls his wife
to bring through his other rig (think Giant Haystacks
and you can gage the size), Suty and Pat exchange glances,
(Suty pulls the Gary Linekar face - you know the one
where Gazza starts crying and Gary questions the manager
- is he alright?) Pat mentions - "Do you think
she'll be okay getting it into the car?", - Paddy
says - "Forget about the car, am more concerned
how she's going to get it up them stairs." The
room erupts in to laughter and this sets the tone for
the day, anyway as if by magic the bass sound is restored
and off we go !
We start the recording and it's the usual nervous starts
and stops but all in all, it's going well - a few technical
difficulties especially with fingers, drumsticks and
computers. (Computers Don't Blunder - yes they do!)
Man Of the Match - is Suty - he sings the songs over
and over as if it's the last song he'll ever sing, we
see the Gary Linekar look a few more times but all is
well. Carl (Drums) has also played very well, the boy
will sleep tonight, the songs will be going round and
round and round in our poor heads all night long but
the top and bottom of it is - we have recorded 7 great
tracks - that's it - home time - drink time - mixing
next.
